   We booked the restaurant for NYE dinner (11:15 pm). On 12/31 at 7:30 pm we received a call from somebody at the restaurant saying that they would not be able to honor the reservation. She said that they would make sure we would “get in the door” (informed us we had to pay $ 20 person cover charge for the band) and if they had a table available they would give it to us, but they could not guarantee availability. So, we ended up with no plan for NYE since it was too late to seek other options. The ratings for the food/ambience, etc are based on (several) previous experiences at Kells. Of course, we are not planning to return any time soon.

   Kells Brew Pub is a very cool place. We were visiting from CT and were attending a conference in Portland and wanted to enjoy some local food and fun. Lots of folks recommended Kells Brew Pub and I'm glad we were able to stop by for a beer and some food! Go there if you can!

   This is a every other month dining location for us. Tonight it was about birthdays for two family members. We were surprised to find the Happy Hour menu is suspended on evenings when there is a game at the nearby stadium; not only that, but there is a truncated memo that offers only one vegetarian meal option (though it was good, it wasn’t really what our family’s lone vegetarian wanted. Maybe think about getting some kind of veggie burger?) Also, some wine shortage because of a game the prior day, so went with third choice wine. Not a huge deal, but in conjunction with no Happy Hour and a different menu than usual, kind of downgraded the experience. Service was good and staff friendly as always. Food came quickly and was of good quality. Love the private seating areas which are great for a family of friend celebration. We’ll go back, because we really like this location. But we’ll know enough next time to check the stadium schedule.

   Great time sitting outside on Mother’s Day. The food was great. Service great too. They did add something on to our bill that we did not order, but they effectively voided it and gave us a correct tab. The Blazer game was on, it wasn’t too loud, and we enjoyed great conversation. And, the Blazers won!! I am ready to go back anytime.

   Great neighborhood pub. Our first time at Kelly’s, looking for a bite of lunch and found Kells. Great menu with some traditional pub fare, we enjoyed the Sheppard’s pie today, very tasty, plenty to eat, and enjoyed one of the many brews offered. Great service, friendly. Definitely will stop in again next time through Portland.

   Irish stew served to my wife was all broth as the waitress said from the bottom of the barrel,should have not been served.Next day when we were at Kells Restaurant the Irish Stew was overflowing and outstanding.

   Food is good. Service was ok. Waitstaff nice. Hostess was business without a real greeting just quickly sitting you down. Beer selection better at their flagship restaurant.
