About this restaurant

We are passionate about food and offer a choice of superb meals based on the Italian classics with a vibrant, modern twist. We don't do frozen and we make all our past dishes fresh to order. Yes, you will wait longer for your meal but we believe it's totally worth it.
The Antico experience is based on the simple principle of 'Good food, Good Wine, Good times!' It's the italian way of eating and it is something that should not be rushed.

We are not interested in turning our tables around five or six times a night - we believe that food should be savoured in an unhurried environment, where you can relax with your friends, family, or partner and eat your meal the way it should be eaten - slowly and with an appreciation for the extra effort we put into making every dish special.

    Early bird menu was amazing value and so tasty!! We had 3 starters to share between five and they were really good size portions and tasted lovely. We then all ordered from the early bird menu and all was really yummy. Wine was good value and good quality. The staff were all lovely and really welcoming. Couldn't complain about anything and would definitely return!

    Antico was great - good food, lovely service From lovely people. So nice to find a restaurant that has some sound- deadening in the form of tablecloths! Highly suitable for couple, families and a night with a few friends. Excellent, we will return.

    My 81 year old mother and I often have dinner here when I am visiting from York. The atmosphere is very warm and the staff, without exception, always make us feel very welcome. The menu offers a good selection of traditional Italian meals and I can highly recommend both the calamari and the Scallops starters (although the calamari is enough for a main course really!). Definitely would recommend this restaurant.

    We stayed in jesmond and after some research on the internet had the good fortune to book a table at this restuarant,I was not disappointed.we had a fabulous meal the food and service were really good and a lovely atmosphere.would definitely recommend this restuarant

    We had a very pleasant evening with my nephew and his partner after travelling up from London. We have been to Antico a few times recently and the food and staff have always been excellent.

    I would highly recommend this restaurant. Food was really excellent and great value for money. We had 2 delicious courses each and a lovely bottle of wine for under £60. Waiter friendly and provided excellent wine advice to compliment our main courses. Lively atmosphere but still perfect for couple night. Will definitely be back. Best meal in Newcastle in a long time.
