What Insiders Are Saying
For a perfect date night, go in on some American small plates at Single Shot in Capitol Hill.
The food here was delicious and the service was wonderful. The ambiance was nice, but not particularly romantic. It is basically an upscale neighborhood trattoria. The portions were small and we felt that the prices were on the high side. We will save this place for entertaining colleagues from out of town.
We really enjoyed brunch at Single Shot. Great food and atmosphere and friendly service.
One of my fav places in Seattle! Love the atmosphere, service and food
Best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. Excellent bread, prosciutto (instead of Canadian bacon), eggs perfectly cooked and yummy Hollandaise. Good Bloody Mary to go with it. Good, friendly service.
The food had incredible flavors and amazing presentations while the service was attentive and knowledgeable! The restaurant was in a quaint location and had the best pork chop I’ve ever tasted. However, the runner-up flavor was the sauce in which my halibut was presented. I found myself wanting to lick the plate clean, but my instincts told me better.
My only wonder was why our reservation only secured a couple of seats at the bar when there were a handful of tables open during our entire meal. Although, I believe we lucked out because our bartender/server was very not only good company, but gracious.
Definitely will return!
Amazing, creative, fresh food. It is crowded and noisy. Only come if you appreciate a true urban dining experience
love single shot, but how about addressing the acoustics? so loud
Such a gem! I could blather on, but the only words necessary are JUST GO.
A fantastic culinary experience!
This is one of our 2 absolute favorite restaurants in Seattle! My husband and I dine here at least once a month. Every single dish is just perfect, all the flavors are new yet impeccable, and the quality price relationship is outstanding! The ambiance can be trendy and/or romantic, according how you feel! I highly recommend Single Shot to pretty much anyone with great taste in food : )
First time dining at Single Shot and we'll be back. We sat at the bar and everything was perfect! Delicious food and and a great ambiance.
We had been here for brunch a few weeks ago and decided it was a place we also wanted to try for dinner. It was a friend's birthday so it was a good opportunity to try it out for dinner. We were not disappointed! Everything was delicious, our birthday guest thought it was one of the best meals he had eaten anywhere. I had the pork chop, and it was the best port chop I have ever eaten! The bean cassoulet was also excellent as were the scallops that our guest ate. We had the flatbread and the cauliflower for appetizer...absolutely delicious, as was the creamed spinach. You could make a meal out of two those dishes easily. This is a restaurant that we will definitely be visiting frequently! (the brunch is also amazing!) The only down side is the lack of any parking - a problem everywhere on Capitol Hill - we solved that by using Uber....
We had a wonderful brunch at Single Shot. The atmosphere was beautiful (lots of natural light, dark woods, and flowers) and the food was excellent- gentle twists on classics and a wonderful selection.
The congee and the mushroom omelette were particularly good.
Wonderful gem. Perfect for any occasion. Great staff.
As usual, Single Shot was great. Rory takes good care of customers.
This was our third dinner at Single Shot. We like the place because it has a neighborhood but slightly hip and a little up-market feel. This time around the service was good and the food was wonderful, as usual. There were three of us and one of us a vegan. The waitress and kitchen were very accommodating and tweaked some of the dishes to make the meal work for him. For dessert we (the two non vegans) decided to order brandy alexanders. They were wonderful. We had a second round. The noise level was low and agreeable the evening we were there. It would be nice (real nice) if the restaurant would put seat cushions on the bench seats along the wall. Single Shot ... Highly Recommended.
Perfect for Sunday brunch at the bar. Will have to come back for dinner some time. Great vibes (and music).
Single Shot is the perfect place to experience a beautiful meal in all of the ways you want it to be beautiful.
Amazing food! The cauliflower and branzino dishes are so full of flavor. Lovely ambiance in a cozy environment.
The bartender was outstanding, always worried about if we liked our drink or food and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.
Chicory salad and cassoulet on a snowy night! Bourbon ice cream affrogado was a perfect dessert.
We came for a girls' birthday lunch and while the food was delicious, the bloody marys divine and the speed of service good, our waiter was very overt about trying to rush us out - I hate that. We had only been there a little over an hour at that point. There was no line of folks waiting, there was the first of several empty tables to come on one side of us (within 15 minutes, half the restaurant had left), so I know it wasn't because they had customers waiting. First, the music volume and tempo went up so we had to raise our voices to chat, but worse - I was still eating my eggs benedict when not only did our waiter put the bill on the table, but he grabbed my little bowl of ketchup (which I was still using for my potatoes) and started to walk off with it. I grabbed it back - "still using that." He hadn't asked if we wanted any coffee or any dessert, and not waiting until all of us were finished and the plates were cleared? As a former waitress from days gone by, that is my number one peeve in poor table service. It was odd, because he'd been mostly pleasant and efficient up until then - but to put the bill down in front of us at that point was super rude. We found out later, they were prepping for their postponed staff holiday party (the owner of the restaurant, whom we met as we were leaving, was lovely), but that's no excuse for our waiter to blatantly rush us out at 1:45. By the way, we settled in and made him take the bill back, ordered some wine, dessert, and my friend opened her birthday gifts. We took our time with no apologies and we weren't even the last to leave. I'd still recommend Single Shot, but just know it's kind of small (which is nice), but you might not get to linger.
Great place; friendly staff; nice ambiance; limited menu.
A great neighborhood spot for a delicious dinner. Great menu, great cocktails, great service!
Outstanding brunch and dinner menu with excellent Sevice.
Delicious food, great wine list, great service, beautiful small space. A little on the pricey side for portions and quality though - over $30 for just 2 scallops as an entree was a bit disappointing, even though they were perfectly cooked.
It's also incredibly loud for such a tiny place. I could only hear folks immediately adjacent to me, but felt like I had to almost shout to be heard by anyone down the table. I think this place would be great for an intimate date or small groups, but not so much for groups over 4.
I would recommend this place and return for a date night.
The food menu is certainly interesting. They've split it in to 3 sections with a few options in each. I dined with a friend and, as we have similar tastes, we often order a dish each and share. The cauliflower and chicory salad were both excellent. The mushroom flat bread was good but not mindblowing (a bit burnt around the edges for me). The entrees were where (I thought) the execution could've been improved.
Great service and menu. Custom cocktails were a bonus treat!
Great food and wonderful service! Love having quality neighborhood eateries like this one...builds the neighborhood!
My newest trip to Single Shot did not disappoint. The service was, as usual, impeccable. The food was perfect from my spot prawn cocktail (a jazzed-up version of the standard) to the moist and flavorful pork chop. The wines by the glass that my server selected for me made a beautiful pairing. I can't wait to go back.
Wonderful neighborhood place and great food.
Awesome place. The drinks and the apps were amazing (get the soup).
Been to this place many times for their awesome cocktails and dinner, but brunch is a whole new level. Staff, especially Rory, are always amazing and make you feel like you are part of the family. I avoid the carbs, but two folks in my party had the pancake which made me salivate. My hash was incredibly flavorful, but I do recommend adding a side dish as portion on that was a little small. Omelets are fluffy and filling. Definitely enjoy a brunch cocktail -you won't be disappointed.
Wonderful place to eat. Great brunch.
Love the pre-fixe menu they did for NYE. Every dish was better than the last and the service was amazing- even with a full house. An outstanding example of the talent at this place!
We made the reservation last minute and were shocked how awesome this place is. It looked really cute in photos and the food sounded good, but we were floored at how Single Shot totally delivered. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by a friendly person that sat us right away. The restaurant itself is so so well designed and we loved our table. Service was perfectly timed, food was wonderful, and we just had the best time! GO HERE. YOU WILL LOVE IT.
My favorite restaurant in all of Seattle
A sweet neighborhood spot where owner remembers you from a year previous! Food is excellent and service so awesome. Love the bar seating. Excellent beverages! I am looking forward to trying brunch next.
Vibrant neighborhood restaurant with a great staff. Owner very considerate if your party morphs into a larger group. Large selection of top shelf liquor.
Brunch is delicious too. Try the Bloody Mary!
