A waste of money for $120. We had to get up and ask additional staff for water, drinks, and to tell them that my $40 strip steak wasn't cooked. I ordered it well-done, and they brought it to me with blood all over the plate and sitting on the steak. Then it came back and it still wasn't cooked even on the edges. All of our steaks were really salty. A waste of 2 1/2 hrs to celebrate my Birthday. Mashed potatoes weren't even warm. So disappointed. Never going back!!!
The waitress was personable and provided excellent service. The food came out hot with good spacing between the appetizer and the main dishes. My wife had the salmon and she enjoyed it. I had the ribeye. It was a tender medium and came out hot. The sides of broccoli and mashed potatoes were also hot and well seasoned. It was Friday evening when we went. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The place filled up but wasn’t too noisy. Went on our anniversary. Will go back.
Suggested restaurant for me, but on this day they were out of salmon. Not much else for a pescetarian at a BBQ and steak place, but the bourbon and whiskey selection was great.
Excellent service. The steaks were done to perfection. Excellent drink list.
The food was very good I would eat there again. That Decour does not match the menu. It reminded me of a moose lodge. But you don’t typically get $40 steaks at the lodge. Had brisket taco which was awesome and a very good strip steak
We had a wonderful meal at Single Barrel. This was our first time and we will definitely be back!
At first glance it was a cool place, but then they sat us at a huge circular booth, the waiter had very little knowledge on the whiskeys, my husband ordered a Pendleton 20yrs reserve that cost us $20 for 1 oz. We purchase buy the case for about $70 a bottle. We ordered the same 8 oz steak his was about 1/2 inch thick and definitely not cooked medium well, mine was 3 inches thick and still bleeding. Reminded me of filet mignon, wasn’t about to send it back since it took forever to get, taste was just ok. For the price that one steak and one side cost there; I can go to a Texas Roadhouse get a better steak with two sides and a salad for the same price. And heard same complaints from other customers.
Your restaurant could be an amazing treat! Your food is spectacular! However, the ambience was disappointing. For the price, we expected a fine dining experience rather than sports bar. Everything seemed to be run down. The men’s bathroom looked like it had hosted am MMA event. The waiter, although a nice fellow, really didn’t seem to know the menu nor some of the basic protocol of his trade.
Anyway, I’m sure we can stop by again, because of the food. I encourage you to spend some time thinking about the kind of restaurant you want to be. Either a high-end steakhouse or a run down sports bar.
Food was okay, but establishment was not what we were expecting. Dirty, carpeted floors, flies, etc..
For the price, we expected much higher standards.
Passing through Lincoln and wanted a good steak. This place had the best ratings so we decided to try it out. Great drink selection and the food was really good.
I usually lunch at Single Barrel, but had friends in town staying at the Embassy Suites and wanted to introduce them to fine BBQ and Steaks- Single Barrel did not disappoint! They were blown away with the appetizers, whiskey and drink selection, and the wide range of entrees. They rated it the best restaurant they went to all week!
The food seriously doesn't jive with the decor. It's time to lose the 0-atmosphere vibe that's going on. Add some booths and fix the rickety tables. Maybe bring the lighting down and add some feeling of privacy to kill the "barn" feeling? You are charging chop shop prices already, and the the food and the bourbon selection are fantastic, but I feel like I'm supposed to be throwing bottles at the band cage and tossing my peanuts on the floor. It feels like a "hitting the urinal is optional" place. Its like my taste buds are saying "HELL YEAH" and my eyes are saying "what the hell are we doing here."
Single Barrel was a fantastic dinner for my wife and I. We had the prime steaks and I cannot remember a steak at a restaurant that has come close to the quality. Waitress was very accommodating to us for it being our first time there. We dont live in Lincoln but Single Barrel will be a destination when we return.
I loved it. Really great bbq. Lots of space for parties. Right across from Embassy Suites where we were staying. Kind of a sports bar but family friendly. Highly recommend!
Don't judge a book by its cover time. Ok, we all had the same reaction, to the point that we almost left without eating....'Would someone PLEASE tell the decorator to pick ONE style and stick with it?? AND get rid of the chairs/tables and awful carpet??' The ceiling is industrial modern, all black exposed heating, electrical, sprinkler etc...ok... the walls around the entire place are really beautiful blond stone, with long horns over the open kitchen and a hide over the dance floor-quite nice, really. But the floor...omg the carpet is NASTY and the joke was...'the fire hall called and they want their chairs and tables back!' Come on guys! You have GREAT food! The filets were better than the fancy steak house we ate at a few nights earlier. You have a decent location-the floor really needs to be fixed so that the first reaction of a new person coming in, isn't lets find some place else!
Always love the Single Barrel. The food is consistent (and fantastic). High quality all around. Unfortunately the service is hit and miss. The gentleman that served us on Father's Day 2019 was subpar. But not to worry- we will be back!
Awesome service...great smokey taste to the meats! I would eat there again!
Enjoyed our dinner out with friends. Service was good. Friendly and Fast, so we could get to our concert on time. Three of the Four of us ordered Filets and were pleasantly surprised. They were delicious and cooked to perfection. Maybe priced just a little bit high for the area, but very delicious. The other one ordered the Salmon with dirty rice. The salads were delicious-yum!! And we all thought the appetizers:cornbread and chicken dip were pretty good. Ambiance was okay. Wish it was a little darker and tables closer together. Not sure how else to improve. Is a pretty big space. We will be back to try BBQ!! Thanks!!
The steak was perfect! I was thinking this was going to be more of a fancy steak house, it felt like a sports bar.
Ty- amazing server. Best in Lincoln. Would definitely visit again.
This was our second time dining at Single Barrel. My co-workers and I were in Lincoln on business and remembered how much we enjoyed our first visit and decided to come back. The food was even better this time! Everything we had was outstanding from the appetizers, to the Caesar salad, to the barbecue and steak, all of the sides and the wonderful bourbon selection. Everything was home-made and top quality. We just wish Single Barrel was in our hometown—we would go all the time. This restaurant is not to be missed!
Single Barrel has seen better days. The food quality was good, but it was not appropriate for a business dinner. It is really just a large venue for music with some food. No ambiance.
The smoked brisket was quite tasty; there was no need for sauce or anything else. The bourbon selection was excellent and included a number of new bottles to try.
One of the best steaks I have ever enjoyed! It was cooked to perfection and the seasonings could not have been better. Our waitress was top notch and could not have been more gracious! The one and ONLY
drawback was that the decor and seating arrangement could use a lot more thought! My wife and I travel
extensively and have enjoyed dining in well over 40 some countries and are most impressed with
Delicious as usual! My friend and I would love to see the beef medallions on the menu again! We had them several years ago and just loved them!
After we informed the staff that I had Celiac disease and could not have gluten they were remade the steak since there had been some cross contamination. This was awesome since the meal could have ruined my night if that wasn’t caught in the kitchen! Excellent service and amazing food!
Exceptional food! Great priced whiskey and cool decor. Great waitress and bartender too!!
The food was delicious. I loved the options.
The smoked flavor was just right.
The eggplant chips were wonderful.
Highly recommend dining at Single Barrel. Steaks are best in town!
All around GREAT night!! Good Food, drinks, service & of course Drake White rocked it out of the park!!
This was our first time at Single Barrel. We had reservations on a Friday night and obviously got right in. It did look like there were other tables open though at the time.
Our server was good. The food was awesome. It is a little on the pricey side though. We went for our anniversary. The place is nice and big. And the tables are not super close to each another. The ambience is like steak house decor.
I would go there again. The food was really good!
It was good!
Single Barrel is one of our favorite places! I have tried so many different things and they are all terrific.
Food order was mixed up, the waitress who took our table was over assigned, so she could check on our food. The steaks were not very good. The place is nice and atmosphere was alright.
Would have talked to the waitress about the situation but she was so busy we had to get someone else to get our bill because we had to get to our show we had tickets for.
Hands down the best steak I have ever had out. No steak knives, and we wouldn't have needed them anyway.
WOW! I have been meaning to post this for a while. On our relocation across Country we planned a trip to Single Barrel. What a wonderful meal! We requested 2 end cut rib eye cowboy steaks and they TOTALLY honored that. As a matter of fact, the Chef actually butchered them just for us! We had a tableside visit by the Chef, our waitress was one of the most attentive and caring we have come across in a long time. We have eaten at some of the top steak houses across the Country and this was one of the best experiences we have ever had! Truly memorable!
The service was nice but totally incompetent, and it wasn't even busy because we were there late. When we asked the waitress about the difference between two steaks, her response was "I really should know the steaks." Yep, you should. It's a steak house. Our drinks came without the advertised extras which made them bland. Turns out they were out of them. We never got our appetizer and seemed to wait forever for the main course. The manager apologized and gave the appetizer to us for free which didn't really matter since we already had eaten half our dinners by then.
Little slow but food was AMAZING! Most tender steak and brisket have ever had! Don't be in a hurry.....the food is worth the wait!
This was hands down the worst dining experience I have ever had. We arrived 10 minutes early for a 6:30 reservation and we were seated early. A good start. 50 minutes later we still had not received our food. I asked our server about my salad because I wanted it before my meal and she went to check on it. At that time our order came out all at once with one severely under cooked burger (rare when it should have been well) and an equally under cooked $40.00 steak (should have been medium well). The server to her credit even asked if it was ok if they butterflied my steak and I said yes. There was no indication of it being butterflied at all. When we asked to speak with the manager he was rude from the outset. He offered to take 1/2 off the burger only. We asked if they could re-cook it and we were told they did not have time. He proceeded to whisk our plates away while we sat there dumbfounded over how we were treated. My review shows 1 star but that is only because less was not an option!
Unfortunately, service was off the night we were there. Waited almost an hour for our food. Great BBQ.
