The food was absolutely amazing... a tad bit pricey but I’ll definitely go back!
Was very excited to meet up with my son and take him out for a steak dinner. Reviews looked good so we made a reservation at SB. The staff was great and their knowledge of whiskey was impressive. Crab cake appetizer was excellent, my sons NY steak was great, side dishes great. However, my filet came out cold and over cooked. Soooo disappointed. It’s was a special occasion with my son so I didn’t want to say anything. $40 for a cold steak. Not sure if I would go back again.
Superb filet-fine cut of meat and cooked exactly the way we had ordered.
Hugh area , almost like a dance hall Not much ambiance,
A bit drab but good food and nice staff. Had the traditional bone in rib eye as the Prime was out of stock .We both gave it a B to B+.
Roasted shrimp cocktail was amazing and the traditional side salad was a nice portion.
We had a very nice dinner at the Single Barrel. Our steaks were done to perfection and the service was excellent
I had gone back specifically for the PB&J porkchop. I had had it last year and was excited to be back in town to order it again. I have to eat gluten free due to celiac disease. I was grateful for our waiter who told me after my food was delivered that the sauce was not gluten free. However, I just wish it was shared with me before it was delivered so I could have had another option. It definitely was not as good without the sauce. Not to mention, the last time I ordered it, the waiter talked with the chef/cook, and they were able to make the sauce gluten free? Everything was good and we will be back though.
Underwhelming experience. Food took forever and was not prepared to order. Kids running around the venue. Server had to be tracked down to get service.
We are never disappointed at The Single Barrel. Food and Service are exceptional.
Good service but everything else was really bad. Food not good and inside was old and rundown.
My husband and I were visiting from Chicago. We absolutely loved our meals and the service was awesome! We will definitely return!
Horrible food horrible service stay away!!!!
We enjoyed an excellent meal. The NY was one very tasty steak. Our server was really great. The restaurant is adhering to COVID guidelines. Happy we had this for our dinner option.
My husband and I were recently in Lincoln and decided to try Single Barrel. Honesty it was great. My husband and I loved our dinner. I got the BBQ Combo and it was delicious. I normally only eat BBQ at the place that is down the street from where I live but I’d seen the reviews and decided to get the combo. The ribs were fall off the the bone, the brisket was the best and the pulled pork was great. I ate every bit and thought about licking the plate! My husband got the salmon bacon sandwich he said it was fantastic. Our waitress was great and we got our food fast.
Everyone that worked there had a mask on and the tables were at least 6 feet apart. They had taken tables out so there was plenty of room. We were there on a Wednesday night there weren’t a lot of people out and about so it wasn’t crowded at all. I could tell that his place would normally (before COVID) be packed. My husband and I will definitely be going back to Lincoln, we loved it and want to spend some more time there. When we come back we will definitely go back yo SB. I hope they can manage to stay open because their food was fantastic.
We eat steak once per month, the 8 ounce filet I thought would melt in my mouth. The potato pancakes and the bourbon dessert were delicious too. Very very clean!
Food was expensive and under seasoned. Ambience felt odd. Maybe it would have been better on a night with a band playing. Ultimately we overpaid. I was surprised by how high the reviews were. We won’t be returning.
I thought it fitting to have my last meal as a Lincoln resident at Single Barrel. The preparations to reopen the dining room during the pandemic were very clear and well thought out. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make my experience a great one with a great whiskey selection and help when one ran out mid pour. The food was stellar, I have had the bbq before, but the prime ribeye I ordered was expertly cooked by the team behind the line. Well worth my money, I am going to miss this place as I move away!
Wonderful meal! The blue cheese crusted Ribeye special accompanied by the maple syrup peppered grits and buttery shrimp cocktail were all outstanding! Our waiter, Logan was wonderful!
I always go to the Single Barrel for the best steak in town. Always prepared correctly. I am never disappointed. Always a big selection of Bourbons and wines. Highly recommend this place!
Great food and bourbon!
Amazing steak. great service.
Ceasear salad is awesome
Love this restaurant!!!!!
Filet was delicious!! Atmosphere could use a little work
Had a reservation
Super slow service. Over 20mins before getting our drinks.
Food was OK compared to our previous experience there
The restaurant was very busy and they appeared to be incredibly under staffed. The service was SLOW. We had to order another round of drinks when they brought us drinks because no one would have came back to check. They didn’t ask how my husband wanted his burger and when it came it was VERY rare. Would have been worth the wait to send it back. The restaurant is just a huge open space with tables randomly placed. Very loud. Maybe if there hadn’t been a couple of events downtown that night things would have been different. This restaurant just wasn’t for us.
We had a 5:15 reservation we arrived a few minutes late but were seated right away. It took 20 minutes for a waitress to take our order after we stopped someone to ask who our waitress was. Then it took an hour to get our food and when food came out it was warm, like it had been sitting for a while. Manager was good, he asked and we explained all that happened, he listened and addressed our concerns, he was very nice. I would give another chance but not on a night when something big is going on in Lincoln they cannot handle a packed house.
Great place to eat before a concert at PBA. Got right in and food was timely and good.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
First time experience. Appetizer chips With onion dip flavor combination was excellent. Prime rib-eye cooked perfectly. Would like warm plate for both steak and the side (garlic mashed) to keep warm during the meal.
It was okay. There was a birthday party going on at the same time as our dinner, for the price the ambiance wasn’t what I thought it would be.
In Lincoln for a college basketball game. Decided on Single Barrel for dinner. Atmosphere is nothing to write home about. I chose the USDA Prime rib eye. It was good but, certainly, not above average. At $49 it was a little over-priced. The bar is very good if you are a bourbon drinker. I went with the Weller 12 year old and it was excellent and hard to find in East-central Indiana. The service was the best part of this experience. An excellent server that was a UNL senior studying fine arts and psychology. Very pleasant and appropriately attentive. She made the experience a positive one. Would I go back? Yes, but not before I tried Misty’s or some other steakhouse.
Attending venue near by so SB worked well prior to event. SB wasn’t particularly busy due to crummy weather. Therefore service was great. Got in and out in a timely manner. Unique menu items along with more conventional selections as well. Would rate our choices as average in quality. Will try again sometime.
The service was terrible . The food was cold. The beef brisket was all fat. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone .
All of our choices were cooked perfectly! Very delicious!
Great food. Maybe a bit overpriced but great overall experience. Server was Friendly and helpful.
Service was great! Meal was ok.
The food was good, but not worth the price. We ordered an appetizer but never received it. Our main entrees came out first, after 35 minutes... Ambiance was great, not too noisy.
Food was delicious! Service was excellent- server went out of her way to make sure our food was out in plenty of time to get to the show. Special requests were no problem.
This was not what we expected... the place did not appear to be real clean.
Yummy!! One my of favorite places. The stake salad is very good!
