I had a great time at Sinema. They had an excellent variety of food for brunch and it's such a unique and beautiful location. Everything from the pictures on the walls to the light fixtures is stunning, and they have one of the most unique and beautiful restrooms I've ever seen. I will definitely try them again the next time I'm in Nashville.
You can spend as little or as much as you want. Portions are a good size, except the scallops, that was small but very filling and amazing.
Highly recommend their dinner AND brunch.
Charcuterie board exceeded our expectations.
Food was mediocre. Server Amanda was great.
First time in. Absolutely loved everything about it. And the food was amazing! Will definitely not be our last visit.
I have always suggested Sinema to friends who are planning a Nashville trip, and will continue to do so.
Great service, unlimited mimosas & bloody maries (interchangeable), cool ambiance, tasty food
Sunday brunch buffet was delicious
We have always enjoyed Sinema in the past. However, our last dinner was not so satisfactory. My husband and a guest ordered hamburgers. The bun was so stale that it fell apart. Needless to say, they couldn't finished the burger without a fork for just the meat patty. The fries were delicious, but, as I said, the bun was very stale. Our bad for not telling the waitress. We were on a tight schedule, and knew we wouldn't have time for a reorder.
I had the short ribs and they were delicious. Our other guests had the fettuccine and she was very pleased.
I will say that our waitress was excellent.
I would still recommend Sinema. We've had nothing but pleasant meals in the past. Just some bad luck this time around.
I would recommend this to anyone who is into fine dining, but I would be sure to tell them you do not get a lit of food for what you pay for it. They also didn't have very many vegetarian entreé options. This is not a restaurant I would come to all the time, but maybe for a special occasion, like an anniversary. Overall the food was great even though my partner didn't enjoy it (saying it was too posh), but the ambiance, and service was excellent.
Brunch and bottomless bloody Mary's were wonderful and our service was impeccable!
It was great our waiter was the best waiter ever if you go ask for Walt the food was amazing
Scallops were incredibly delicious! I would be happy to have given five-stars; however, there was a very long lag time from when our drink orders were placed and served and same thing for entrees. The water guy was constantly filling out glasses; however, it was an inordinately long wait time between orders and deliveries with no explanation. I wouldn’t let this deter anyone from going, as it was worth the wait when it came.
Sinema is a dining experience that is unrivaled. The yesteryear ambiance is a visual treat; you can still feel the essence of the old theater. From our table we had a fun view of pictures of glamorous movie stars. A manager stopped by our table to ask us if we could name the subjects and helped us when a name escaped us. We were also encouraged to stroll through the entire restaurant (he later took us to the second floor) to view all of the pictures. (The first floor is devoted to movies; the second is devoted to music.)
We began with cocktails, one being off of the custom mixologist’s menu (so yummy!) Our server, Walt (a walking menu encyclopedia,) gave us honest thoughts about his favorite entrée choices, and managed to sway my decision to the Branzino. My companion chose the chef’s minestrone creation (his first attempt, per Walt) and the Stroganoff. Walt made a well-educated wine suggestion for my companion and they had a nice conversation about the wine, its region and other tidbits. Our meals arrived beautifully plated and full of flavor. My fish was perfectly prepared and the accompaniments were well chosen and equally delicious. The minestrone was devoured swiftly so the chef’s creation was hit. The stroganoff was a delicious upscale take on the comfort food classic; the purple sweet potato gnocchi was delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening at Sinema; we will certainly visit again.
Food, service, and ambiance was great!
We received gift certificate from our daughters and finally had a chance to visit Sinema. We arrived for happy hour and enjoyed our conversation with Rodger. Mozzarella appetizer was pretty good. Happy hour specials would be worth going back for. Downstairs we had the ravioli appetizer which was amazing. Loved scallop entree. Fish was also good. Our server downstairs was a little odd but certainly got the job done. Definitely check our ladies bathroom 😊
Server was extraordinary!
Great night great food and service excellent!
Great meal all round.
Food was fabulous. Great service
Enjoyed it all
We went for brunch. We personally weren’t fans, it’s buffet style so nothing is hot and really fresh, just lukewarm. The restaurant is very pretty inside but it has a totally bizarre feel. You expect to be at an upbeat brunch with the the website portrays this brunch, and it simply isn’t that at all. We’re from New York so maybe we’re just not used to the style here, but we weren’t fans.
Outstanding food and service. Will definitely be back
Our service at our table was impeccable. He was very attentive and quick to see our needs without us having to ask!
They say there are couches upstairs that you can continue drinking at but there are only about 3-4
First time there and I’ve been talking about it for the past few days! Our server was perfect (so sorry, I’ve forgotten his name - he has chin length curly brown hair, nose ring..) - he was knowledgeable, thorough, knew when to give us space and when to check in. Food was AMAZING. We had the mush cap/crab app, the cream of sunchoke soup (SO GOOD), scallops, and stroganoff. Everything was perfect for my guy’s birthday! I’ll definitely be back!!!
Outstanding atmosphere and service! Friday date night! We enjoyed the upstairs lounge area both before and after dinner and the lounge manager spent a lot of time speaking with us about the many music exhibits displayed throughout the lounge. Most important of all, my date really enjoyed the experience!
Went on Sunday for the bottomless brunch and bottomless mimosas. Everything was great and the ambiance was incredible. Try the chilaquiles :)
We went with high expectations for the first time dining at Sinema. We were there on a Sunday and the only offerings were their Bruch buffet and a few ala carte items. The best food item was the fried chicken - everything else was average. We were seated promptly even though arriving early for our reservation. Our server was gracious and very attentive.
Service was good at the table. Bottomless mimosas are a great option. Limited options for dietary restrictions. I was also accosted by a manger immediately upon entering the building for having a service animal and told to leave. Fortunately the host was well aware of federal and state laws regarding service animals but the manager was extremely rude and ignorant.
Vanessa was our server and she was amazing. She made our experience even better.
The restaurant was beautiful with old movie star photos on the walls. Delicious food stations spread throughout the two incredibly restored floors of this vintage movie theater. Then if you're lucky enough to get to get Megan as your server... bonus!!!
Went to this restaurant with a vision of good cocktails and fine food and it surpassed my expectation. The drinks were wonderful and the food was perfect.
Sinema was very nice. The food was beautiful and delicious. The ambiance is perfect for a nice night out.
Beautiful restaurant. Food was pretty good. Service was lacking. Sat in the lounge for over 25 minutes waiting on cocktails. A manager came over to see why we didn't have drinks. Afterwards with dinner waitress forgot to enter a drink request and we were done by the time she remembered. One member of our party's dinner portion was very small. We all shared out portions with him to help make up for it. Ordered cheese board as appetizer - miniscule bites of cheese and a few almonds. Over priced.
The nest restaurant that Nashville has to offer, best most unique experience with amazing food!!!
Absolutely amazing in every way!!! The wait staff was extremely attentive and our water glasses never dropped below the halfway mark. Each entree was cooked to perfection and tasted incredible! Each dessert is made from scratch, right down to homemade ice cream. The Creme Brûlée was my favorite :)
A restaurant for millennials. Varied food options but nothing outstanding about taste. Alcohol consumption doesn't appear to be monitored as the couple next to us appeared intoxicated. Love that the theater was repurposed. Well done in that regard! Parking is treacherous.
The environment was great. Love the whole look. The food, honestly, was nothing special. The chicken dish was downright bad but the braised lamb was okay.
Sinema was fantastic as usual. I've never had a bad meal here. Great place for special occasions.
The steak and burger were delicious. Cocktails were also yummy. Noise level was perfect.
Service was a little slow considering they weren’t very busy. But I’ve experienced worse. Was disappointed by the seating as we were seated along a long bench wall. One of those types where you have to squeeze between tables to get to the seat and then the other tables are so close you’re hearing each other conversations. Tables were just way too close together. If they removed a couple of tables and spaced them out more it would be much better. Food was good. Cocktail drinks were priced fairly high so we only had one round but they were good. Had they been $3-4 less we probably would of had 2 or 3 each. I’d heard so many great things about this place so wanted to check it out. I wouldn’t refuse to go again if friends are wanting to go there but probably not a place we’ll visit again if its just the two of us.
Magical meals -- We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday brunch - a broad selection of excellent dishes and great service by Christopher. It was so good, we booked dinner for the following Friday, and were wowed again. Our waiter, Michael, was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Every bite of each dish was outstanding - truly unique combinations of flavors, expertly prepared, and perfect portions. We especially loved the Agnolotti appetizer, avocado salad, lobster bisque, and Stroganoff and shrimp entrees. The environment, food, and service made for magical meals. Our new favorite among a fantastic slate of Nashville restaurants.
