Simply Thai Restaurant & Wine Bar
We went on Saturday and it wasn't that busy. The waitress said they were busy but I Iooked and counted 18 people. There was only 2 waitresses but still, it's not busy. We had to wait nearly an hour to get our drinks. When our food came, mine wasn't hot but at that point I couldn't be bothered saying anything as we only had a short time before our show started. The waitress also didn't bring out our starter until she delivered the main course. It was a complete mess overall to be honest. Won't be going back in a hurry.
Very good food!!
It was the worst Thai food I have eaten.
I am so surprised that others have given good reviews.
The yellow curry was a potato mush.
I would not recommend it to anyone unless they want to waste their money and evening.
Overall food is not bad but not very authentic. It was too sweet for me and surprisingly Fish Sauce was a $2 charge, where most of the Thai, Vietnam would never do that. Is like a soy sauce at Chinese restaurant!! Or ketchup at Denny’s!
There was hair inside the Tom Yum Gon Soup and they didn’t take it off from the bill or at least some compensation.
Won’t go visit again and won’t recommend to others
We really enjoyed our meal here. There were 3 of us, so got to sample quite a few items and everything was wonderful. Everyone's fave was the Cho Muang dumplings - wow! Also loved the spring rolls, satay, as well as red curry and Pad-See-lew. We were there for an early dinner so it was really quiet and the food came quickly. Our waitress was lovely - we will definitely will be back.
Everything was great. Meal came out very quickly was warm and tasty. Server was polite and helpful. Would definitely come back.
Excellent service and delicious food! Very authentic Thai cuisine and everything was flavourful and fresh. Staff are great about accommodating allergies. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Picked this restaurant because I heard it was good and was not disappointed. Great for any occasion and definitely worth the money.
Simply Thai is the Best Thai food in Vancouver, and in my opinion one of the tasiest restaurants in the city overall.
Went for New Years eve dinner. Everyone was very friendly and the food was very good. Service was a little slow, but overall it was very enjoyable.
The Restuarant picks up around 8pm. The food is quite good. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu.
I had a really good experience
Excellent food, excellent service. Everything was fresh and hot and made to order.
I recommend this place for take out. The food was very good, the service abysmal despite being only 1 of 2 tables and later 3 of 4. We had to constantly ask for service, and at one point all 4 servers were too busy chatting to notice us waving our hands. I also question the logic of putting someone in charge of the bar that has limited English. My cocktail was fantastic. My friend wanted a specific type of drink which the server knew nothing about. We explained to her how to make it, yet all was lost in translation. It was awful. I wouldn’t send anyone here for a dining in experience.
No atmosphere in the restaurant, no papaya in the papaya salad and the portion of Red Curry was very small.
Food tasted ok but we would not recommend.
Excellent food and great value...really nice staff
Usually excellent service but a little disappointing this time with a new server. Overall still very good and great lunch value.
Great food and drinks. Will definitely come back! Excellent value!
A real estate buyer today for lunch and simply thai did not disappoint.very good location, friendly servers and very good lunch deals although I wish the rice cup was bigger.but it was a yummy and productive lunch meeting:)
The food here is authentic. YOu can order the food as either mild, medium, or hot. I normally can eat hot, but ordered medium just in case. Their medium is closer to hot. So don't order hot unless you really like hot. The only issue with the restaurant was it was quite hot inside. Not sure if their AC is not working, but the temperature was a bit too warm for me and my guest.
Spectacular curries, great service our go-to spot in Vancouver. I've been coming to Simply Thai for years now and it never disappoints. C6 - the wild salmon panang is a must have.
Came to the restaurant in the evening of Friday. We waited for almost half an hour for the food to come after we ordered. The appetizers were good. We order mango salad, spring rolls and a bowl of tom yum soup to share. As mango salad was the chef special of the day and we were not told about the price when we ordered, it turned out to be $18 on the bill( same price as the entree, and the portion is too small for the amount we paid), probably won’t be ordering if I know it for next time. Other than that, my favorite dish was tom yum soup.
As for the entrees, we ordered two. Probably they had been sitting on the kitchen counter for a long time, the pad Thai noodle was cold already when they were served. We didn’t bother to ask to reheat them because it would probably take a long time to have our food again. Noodle was too sweet.
This was the first time for me to try out this restaurant. Probably won’t be back for awhile, but may come back just for the tom yum soup.
Nice restaurant and the service was excellent. Food was very tasty and just as we liked it spice-wise. Great value for money.
While the food was good, we were disappointed that hardly any of the wines on the menu were available and expected more from a Thai restaurant that also bill’s itself as a wine bar.
Excellent Thai Food in Yaletown. Well worth a visit if you enjoy authentic Thai.
Great spot for friends and family style dining.
Simply Thai is one of our favorite restaurants and we drive from Port Moody to eat there occasionally. The food is always excellent and the service and staff are friendly and attentive.
The restaurant was nice and clean and the atmosphere was nice. We had a table of 4 and where squeezed into a table next to the kitchen. There were better table so I am not sure why they gave us this table. After about 10 minutes of sitting and talking about what we wanted to eat I began to smell someone's smelly feet. The guy at the next table had taken off his shoes and war airing out his wool socks. Ruined it for me so we asked to be moved to another spot. Staff was great and they moved us fast. Great friendly staff but I was really mad that they did not tell this guy to put his shoes back on. Would I go back yes. The food was very good.
Tom yum soup is excellent. We enjoyed the option of having tiger prawns in most dishes
The food was really good. I am not sure if they were under-staffed for lunch, because there were only 2 servers. It took a bit to get our order taken and to get our food. We will most likely come back, but probably for dinner instead of lunch next time.
Great location! Tasty food. It was on the spicy side. The ambiance was lovely and great service!
Great food! Rarely do I order seafood, but I took a chance on the scallops and was not disappointed! Fantastic find!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand.
Very warm welcome upon arrival. An acquaintance was waiting for a takeout order. Patio was empty, and we were seated promptly. Donna took our drink orders and read off the list of three Chef's Specials of the day. It was truly like being in a Thai home where the cook was ready to create something unique for us. My dining companion was Gluten-Free, and she assured us that the veggie spring rolls were made with rice wrappers and rice vermicelli. Portions were more than ample for two to share, and we took home lunch for the next day. Service was attentive but not intrusive, and water glasses were refilled at regular intervals discretely. Cocktail list is extensive, with delightful twists that make the offerings unique and suited to the menu choices. The rosé wine provided the perfect counterpoint to the coconut and tamarind notes of my dishes for a mild outdoor dining experience. Dishes are not elaborately garnished as much as my other favourite Thai restaurant, however, I would rather a more substantial portion of the dish that I have chosen than an elaborate carrot carving and an orchid blossom added to fill the plate!
The spring rolls were divine, along with the cocktails such as the Mai Tai and Mango Colada. The dishes we had were tasty and they asked us how spicy we'd like them, which was a nice touch. We even got a slab of birthday cake from our server as she wanted to share it with us, which was lovely of her! Thoroughly enjoyed.
Very delicious thai food, great service, good wine and a nice ambience!
Food was descent for price Restaurant was quite smelly, really heavy fish sauce smell. Waitress was nice overall good experience
Great food and location. Close to BC place and Rogers arena. Service a bit tardy, but worthwhile dining experience!
While in Vancouver we wanted a neighborhood eatery and found this gem. It's in Yaletown section of town and has amazing thai cuisine. It is casual dining at it's best with vast menu options, everything delicious.
Food was good, service was not. I don't usually leave negative comments, but unfortunately our server did not know anything about the menus which made the experience rather disappointing.
Solid Thai in Yaletown. Tom Kha Gai soup good with a slight kick. Shredded papaya salad good, and curry was fine. Service a little lax but very nice.
