Simply Fondue Livermore Ratings and Reviews
This place came highly recommend. The hostess staff (3 ladies) were not very friendly. We were promptly seated. The waiter , Jacob, was awesome. This was our first time there and he explained the whole fondue process . He gave good recommendations and we had a really fun time and a great meal. We loved it. Got a little bit of buyers remorse when the bill was nearly $200.00 for 3 people having fondue. The food was good and we had fun, but it wasn’t worth it. Thank you Jacob, you were great!
Fun night. We went for New Years. We go once every few months with the kids. My daughter is a vegetarian and they do have options for her. It was loud the night we went for dinner. Our waitress was GREAT!!!! She made the night perfect. Grapefruit Martini plus Chocolate/Bourbon one we’re the best. We will go again in a few months. 😌
I've been to Simply Fondue probably 10 times over the years. The food is always great. It's been about 6 months since I was here previously and I have to say, they've brought the 'value' down quite a bit. I think we've gotten the Feast for 2 every single time just because it's got all the courses (ie: salad, cheese, main, and dessert), kind of a prix fix thing. So, it's $59 a person which isn't that bad (I believe this prices has gone up in the past couple years). But, since my last visit, you no longer get 'free refills' on the main meats/chicken/fish. I only mention this because each piece is about 1 or 2 bites (cooked), and you get around 4 pieces per item (choice of 6 items), and between 2 people, you really don't get much meat/chicken/fish, but they do give you a few slices of vegetables ;-). In the past you've gotten to get additional meat/chicken/fish at no extra charge. Now, each additional 'serving' is $7. It's not a huge deal because between all the courses, it's usually enough food. But, if you're new to Simply Fondue and not sure which meat/chicken/fish to order, you may get an item that you don't particularly like. There's quite a bit of room for error, since you are the chef. The 3 cooking styles, grill, broth (2 kinds), or oil combined with the different seasoned meat/chicken/fish leave a lot of variation in flavor, or lack thereof. The saving grace is the dessert, you can't really go too wrong with dipping delectables in chocolate.
I'm certainly not one to complain about the price of food unless things change, and in this case, it has. I've had to lower my 'value' rating because the price has gone up, and the amount of (main course) food has gone down. I understand inflation and the cost of doing business but there are a lot of good restaurants around and paying (even more of a premium) to cook my own food is losing some of it's appeal with me. I'll think twice about coming here next time.
The food here is good and it's fun to cook your own meal with all the fondue choices. The cheese course is really yummy and you get many choices. We prefer the broths for the meat course and the choices here are many as well. If you go for the full package, you get the chocolate fondue as well. I highly recommend the dark chocolate.
I chose Simply Fondue to celebrate my 30th birthday with about 10 girlfriends and it was an amazing experience. Without request they set my friends and I at a table in a private room (good move bcuz my friends and I can get so loud!) The waitress was patient with us and explain everything we needed to know about the food/restaurant experience. All my friends loved this place, everyone said they want to come back with their significant other. I will be back with my husband for Valentine's day! Also to make reservations was super easy! Highly recommend this place! I loved the experience/food. Also forgot to mention, my friends and I love taking pictures anytime we get together, the restaurant closed at 11pm, they did not once tell us or push us out the door, without noticing we were hanging around until midnight before we left the restaurant. (That's how much fun we had, without getting pushed out bcuz the restaurant was closed)
Celebrated a very small company Christmas party. Everyone loved the variety of food and ways to cook it. The beverage, meat, and salad selections were outstanding. Zach our server went out of his way to ensure everyone was comfortable and needs tended to. We will definitely be back.
Our reservation was at 6:30 and we didn't leave until almost 10:00. In between courses we hardly saw our server, she offered to get us extra aides for our cheese but never came back to ask what we wanted. She was nice, I just think she had too many tables in Christmas eve.
Honestly, the food was just okay. I'm a picky eater with digestive issues, and I thought coming to Simply Fondue meant I could escape most of the garlic/onions/dairy/gluten/crap that most other restaurants sprinkle all over their menu. The grill option was good because it's just us grilling our meat on a cast iron skillet. But, the cuts of beef had too many tendons, and a few had some weird marinade that gave me and another person heartburn, and whatever oil they used on the skillet was tasteless. The raw veggie plate of sweet potatoes, zuccini and mushrooms was nice. The ambiance is a little boring and noisy. The booth benches felt constraining, especially with our winter coats bunched up next to us. The service was excellent though. So, not a bad experience, just wish they would work on food quality a little. You know... grass fed, organic, paleo (means no inflammatory cooking oils). Clean ingredients, healthy meals.
Loved the cheese fondue, loved the dessert/chocolate fondue. What we all DID NOT like was the meat a la carte selections. PLEASE allow people to select one or two types of meat (e.g. angus beef) WITHOUT the full 4 course meal (which doesn't make sense for us due to dietary restrictions).
The service was great from the start and continued for whole experience. The Caprese salad was a bit disappointing but the fondue more than made up for it. My Sister was very satisfied with her Ceaser salad and fondue order
We had a great time together. I never regret going to this restaurant.
We took our 10-year old granddaughter to Simply Fondue, prior to the Nutcracker at the Bankhead Theater. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday Brunch and our granddaughter had the cheese fondue, which she loved. Our sever was very good - explaining our options on cooking and the meal choices. A very enjoyable experience.
I am celiac and the waitress kept making mistakes with my food options, luckily I caught them myself before something bad happened. Hostess was rude but over all I would go back, just not with a large group again because they weren’t very accommodating even though we had reservations weeks ahead of time.
Food was delicious and we had a private room which made conversation easier. The portions were good. We had the two for Tuesday special of cheese and chocolate fondues which was plenty of food. Most of us also got a salad. The temperature of the restaurant was a bit cool for the members in our party. If we had mentioned it to our server she probably would have done something about it, but we just wore our coats. It’s a fun restaurant and different than many. I will be going back!
The ambiance in this place is great and the food was also very good. Its definitely pricey but I think the quality and feel of the place was worth it. Only downside was things took a bit too long to get started. I think we waited 30mins+ before our fondue was finally served and we got something to eat. Overall highly recommended this place.
Cocktails menu extensive but the waiters explanations limited leading to an initial poor experience !
The menu states fondue $13.00 per person which is reasonable for sharing a pot of fondue . What they don't state is the pot is not a pot but a dish of cheese . The pot is filled with water and a dish placed on top as a double burner effect. We ordered the traditional fondue and when we saw the small amount of cheese decided to order another Italian Fontina fondue. We were not told we would be paying another $13.00 each to eat our second fondue. I might add that the bulk of the their offering are meat bourguignonnes and not traditional fondues. We ordered a Caesar salad to split that basically was lettuce touched by a tasteless commercial dressing and scattered with some hard commercial croutons.
The traditional Swiss fondue was good, as was the accompanying dipping veggies Unfortunately the bread was not the crisp and fresh but rather soft and not great.
I have dined in may fine restaurants in my life. This is not one of them! A little training of staff on how to establish a relationship with customers would go a long way. A detailed description by the waiter of what we had ordered might be in order as it migrated quite a bit from the traditional fondue menu. Most professional staff know to do this when confirming an order. Mixing cheese with pesto and marinara sauce defeats the purpose of the cheese experience and creates a tasteless mess. The other choices of cheddar fondue and pepper jack with added ingredients seemed equally atrocious.
As to the overpriced meat fondue bourguignonnes the menu was packed with too many confusing choices of meats then flavorings or sauces ?
Not sure what they are trying to do here but quality is obviously not the goal ! If you want to go somewhere to be attended to by condescending waiters that don't really know fine dining service and food that is subpar, tasteless and deceptive pricing this is the place for you.
Very fun way to spend a night out, dinner will take you about 2-3 hours as you get through courses. Go hungry so you can enjoy cheese, main course and dessert fondue! We had 7 people and enjoyed a good variety of fondue! Service was excellent, food very good. Prices are rather high, but look for their special during the middle of the week.
