Simply Fondue - Ft Worth Ratings and Reviews
Overall, I would say Simply Fondue is just average. The first thing I noticed was the dank, musty smell as you make your way downstairs to the restaurant and through the hallways. You definitely feel like you are eating in a basement. The decor is old and in a little rough shape. Could definitely use an update. Our waitress was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. All of the service was great. The cheese appetizer needs some help. The veggies are okay, but the, what seems to be week old, bread chunks could be improved upon. The selection of meats was great for the main course. A little something for everyone. The definite highlight of the meal was dessert. The rocky road chocolate fondue was awesome! This place is a bit overpriced for you cooking all your own food, so the overall value isn’t that great. This is definitely a place to go just for the experience and not much else.
Simply is one of my favorite places to eat, however this visits was disappointing. The service was not the same as it was slow and the quantity of bread, veggies and desserts was very small. The table placement for our party of 4 was very small in the tete tete. The restroom was very dirty and had no paper towels and trash on the floor. I believe this has to be just an off experience, the restaurant is too nice and costly for this to be the new standard for Simply so I will be back again for my birthday. Hoping improvements are made because I would hate to have to find a new favorite.
Our server John was outstanding. Proximity to Bass Hall was perfect. Reservations were easy. The only complaint is that it is ridiculously overpriced. We ordered the "Chef's Special" which is $50 a person. This is a 3-course meal which is nice, however, with the additional cost of alcoholic beverages and tip our total bill was $150 for two people. (I should also note that the meat portion of the meal is served with hot oil for you to cook yourself and is a bit tedious remembering the cook times for various types of meat! ) This is a definitely only a place for "special occasions" for a couple on a budget!
Our server Levi was fantastic and made our experience fun and special. He overheard us saying it was our son’s birthday and brought him a complimentary slice of cheesecake topped with a candle without us asking. The food was excellent as well. We will be back!
Marissa was awesome, and although the prices are a little high, it’s a great evening experience and worth the cost! We enjoyed the food and booth dining. 5 people with drinks, apps, dinner, desert, tip and the entertainment of cooking, was just around $300. But, if I had bought the same at another restaurant and done movies or a show, it would have been the same cost or more. Was a lot of fun to have time to visit over dinner. About 2-3 hour experience.
The price is outrageous for the amount you pay for the cheese fondue u can go to the store and melt some on the stove for over 30 people lol! $22 for a pot of melted cheese with hard bread and a few slivers of veggies! Then $11 each person for chocolate fondue! Really???? That’s insanity!!!
I’ll give this place 3 stars because I actually really enjoy the food and atmosphere. The drinks are great too. However we had what will probably be our last meal there on Thursday. Our waiter was fantastic, we tipped really well as always, however as we were leaving we could hear the brunette hostess and one of the brunette waitresses with curly hair up in a ponytail making rude comments about us and saying see you again (SOON IM SURE) as we were walking out. Not sure what makes a restaurant think it’s a good idea to make people feel bad for visiting too often...I wish I had their names so I could give 4 stars and simply make it known that they need to get their attitudes in check. I guess it’s a good place to go for a special occasion, but make sure you aren’t a regular because apparently they don’t like regulars there..
The service was awful. We were told several times that they were short on waitstaff, but more than once, I observed waiters standing at the bar for several minutes, waiting for drink, instead of helping each other, and running the drinks that were already there. For the price of a meal for 4, (nearly $400) it's unacceptable that the waiters can't help each other and provide service to tables that are not their main responsibility. I've had better service in a waffle house! I've worked in restaurants that were no where near as nice, and I would have been reprimanded if not fired, for doing that. This place is not short staffed, it's just that the staff they have needs to learn some team work.
Went to the restaurant and requested a table. Told me I needed a reservation. So used my open table app and made a reservation.
My wife told them we made a reservation. We had some drinks and appetizers at the bar. Very good food!
At 630 we walked to the hostess and told her we were ready to be seated. She didn’t acknowledge us at all.
At 645 we were still standing at the hostess area and had yet to be seated. Wait staff was talking with the hostess.
We left at 650 without being seated. Very disappointed with the appearance.
Simply Fondue is my all-time favorite restaurant. I love that you can relax and spend 2 hours enjoying amazing food with friends/family. You do not want to rush this experience! Our server was so attentive but not at all intrusive, and we had plenty of time for conversation and laughter. The dining areas are small and cozy and the atmosphere is elegant and not noisy. This is a great spot for romantic dinners or getting together with friend and family. I highly recommend it.
We were about 50 minutes late due to the Christmas tree lighting and trying to navigate the traffic and road closure but I had called and they held our reservation and sat us immediately when we got there. John our server was excellent and took very good care of us. Don’t know why you say we didn’t make the reservation but we were there.
Came here for daughter's 21st birthday, (her choice). We loved it!!!!
Our server, Logan was incredible, he was very informative, helpful, and the best thing was, we didn't really notice, or should I say, view him as a server, he was part of our group. Was there when we needed him but never seemed to interrupt our dining experience. Food was fantastic, everyone in our group ordered something different so we could check out all the options! The salmon was incredible. We are planning on returning and bringing our other daughter....one of the best dining experiences we have had in quite some time. We didn't feel rushed, nice relaxing pace, truly enjoyed the time we spent there. Can't wait to return.
It was a great place to try once.
A little disappointed to be honest.
Took my Friend for her Birthday and it wasn’t what we thought. We paid around $51 per person and barely got enough food for us. We waited about 15 minuted between each “course” and felt unsatified after because we were so hungry.
The food we got was pretty good, not great ( It didnt seem worth the money if I’m
My wife and I just happened to see Simply Fondue as we walked around Sundance Square. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. We both got the Classic Chef Special and really enjoyed it. My favorite part was roasting the marshmallow before the Raspberry Cabernet Chocolate Fondue.
