Simon Pearce Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Visiting Simon Pearce in Quechee is quite an experience. My husband and I spent over 3 hours there perusing the store front, taking pictures of the icy water fall and covered bridge, watching the glass blowing demonstration downstairs, getting pre-dinner drinks at the bar, and finally sitting for a full meal. We enjoyed every minute of it! All of the food was delicious, but the soup appetizers had to be our favorite. All of the staff (from the glass blowers to the waiters) were so knowledgeable about the products and willing to answer questions. I cannot wait for my next trip to Quechee and to Simon Pearce, hopefully this time in the warmer months!
Wonderful experience, beautiful restaurant. We went for a date night on a weekend getaway from Boston. We were seated right by the waterfall. The whole restaurant feels magical from the lighting just as you enter to the view from the dining room. It had an fantastic local beer list and the food was phenomenal. The extra bonus was to be able to poke around the shop and go view the glass blowers downstairs. Well worth the drive, it made our trip!
We have had lunch at Simon Pearce in the past and this time came for our anniversary dinner. It never disappoints. The food is excellent and so is the service. We had the Simon Pearce sparkling wine with our meal this time and it was outstanding, so much so that we purchase some to bring home.
We had an excellent dinner with our 2 boys. We requested a table with a view and they accommodated us with a gorgeous table that looked out over the frozen waterfall. We especially loved our server named Stephanie. Quite possibly the best server we’ve ever had. My boys loved her and she made our dinner super-enjoyable.
The table we were given has a vent above it that is known by management to blow cold air on diners. Although the waitress made an attempt to turn up the heat in the entire restaurant to help compensate for cold air, the result was mixed. In my opinion, no one should be asked to sit at that end of restaurant until problem is resolved because it affected the evening and our conversation.
Lovely ambiance - food was very good, though a bit pricey and service was slow. Entree took far too long to arrive. Very nice though. I guess for the area, this is destination dining. Picturesque and you can shop while you wait for your table (by design?). Went for lunch the day before and the wait was ridiculous. We were very last seated & then alone in the restaurant & felt Kind of rushed. After an hour-and-a-half wait, was somewhat anticlimactic. Food is nice though - get the Vermont cheese plate!
We eat here regularly. Sunday's dinner was extra special, as there was venison on the menu. Very tender and delicious, although I would have liked a different kind of vegetable to the spaghetti squash, perhaps a green vegetable? The dauphine potatoes, however, worked well with this entree. Both the Vermont Cheddar and the carrot soups were very good, as was the Pavlova dessert. The latter is always a treat at Simon Pearce. A very pleasant Malbec accompanied our meal. Coffee always good here, too. Service was excellent!
Beautiful atmosphere - excellent cuisine. Very professional & pleasant staff. We were 1 1/2 hrs. late because of weather and an accident, but they held our table - and were very caring and welcoming. Of course, all glassware is Simon Pearce - it's just perfect!!
A little disappointed that they didn't mention our anniversary - since I noted it on the Open Table reservation, but that was just minor flaw.
We were in VT for a birthday weekend and we picked Simon Pearce’s restaurant for the birthday dinner. The servers were so friendly and helpful! The food was amazing!! Great ambiance in and out, you get to view all the blown glass in a retail store right outside the restaurant. We will be going back and recommend to all our friends and family. If your in the area this one is a must go!
We drive almost an hour to get to Simon Pearce. It has been our "go-to" restaurants for special occasions for years and has never failed to satisfy. Exemplary service (harder and harder to find that anywhere), interesting and beautifully presented food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Bonus is the opportunity to watch glass-blowing and peruse the lovely glass, pottery and housewares in the shop.
The overall excellence of Simon Pearce is clear from their delightful service, comfortable pace and, most importantly, in their food. We tried the char and the cod and both were delicious. I particularly love the creative accompaniments. Only the bread was disappointing - two types, one an ordinary white baguette and the other a cold quick bread (pumpkin?). But our entrees made up for that. Not a bite was wasted! Dessert choices were fairly ordinary, but our chocolate cake was yummy.
