Simon Pearce Restaurant
Reservations are not accepted for lunch.
This was a great place to celebrate our Anniversary.
You can’t find a more beautiful setting with great food and service. Exceptional!
We really like this restaurant but there’s definitely room for improvement.
For starters they made everyone line up as if we were boarding an airplane which was awkward and annoying.
We were seated in a screened in porch and the screens need repair or replacement. We got eaten alive by bugs.
The server was pleasant but not very attentive, the water glasses didn’t get filled which was unfortunate on a muggy summer day.
All of these things made the experience less than ideal.
The swordfish was perfectly cooked and delicious !
This is one of our favorite places to dine in all of the states. The setting is magical and the food excellent.
Remarkably consistent excellence in all categories! Dining at Simon Pearce is like coming home to your favorite place, with remarkable service, menu, each serving a work of art. We celebrated an important transition for my daughter, and reserved at Simon Pearce at her request. Staff was particularly attentive to our needs in their usual dignified, discreet way. And the quality presentation to die for! Thanks so much! We both agree Simon Pearce is a destination that feels like home. Simon Pearce: whatever your formala is, keep it!
So lovely. We cale to celebrate birthdays for both of my daughters — the food and atmosphere were both incredible. We ordered the cod, swordfish, steak — which were all wonderful — and the blueberry compote, corn panna cotta with a shortbread crust for dessert and all were outstanding. Our server Amelia was so personable, knowledgeable and caring. We’ll be back as soon as we can be!
Wonderful experience as usual.
Have never been dissapointed except when it wass completely booked and I could not get a reservation.
Best of the best.
Great app of Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and chickpeas. My entree was duck which was great! Crispy and delicious. The halibut was somewhat over cooked as was the sea bass. The pasta was great. We did not have dessert. The ambiance was beautiful!. Had a lovely meal!
Lovely waitress. I believe her name was Beth. Appreciated The dessert with a lit candle in recognition of my husband’s birthday. At first I found it odd that a staff member just put it down in front of him and walked away as opposed to initiating a round of the happy birthday song. I sang it to him myself however softly. I figured maybe the restaurant doesn’t want to intrude on other customers with birthday songs though I find most people enjoy it and even join in the singing. Other than that everything was quite wonderful..
A very lovely evening dining on the deck. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. This food delicious and so fresh tasting from appetizer to dessert. We enjoyed every minute.
Our favorite place to go on a beautiful summer evening. Fantastic food in a dramatic setting. We always hope to see young folks jumping into the river and to see a hot air balloon float by, and it almost always does.
Everything about the experience was great. The room was a little noisier than anticipated but could still talk to each other at our own table. Our waiter was phenomenal. He answered all of our questions smartly and made very good recommendations.
We had a table on the deck right over the waterfall with the sun setting over the river while we enjoyed a fabulous meal. Braised short ribs were outstanding accompanied by fine wine and an excellent dessert.
Simple good food made complicated by chef adding no value.
Was celebrating our Anniversary, mentioned it in our reservation and nothing was said. A little disappointing.
We were in the area and saw this restaurant and decided it was a must do based on a recommendation. We agree. The service was great from the time we checked in for our reservation until we left. We were warmly greeted, taken to our table right away and promptly waited on.
The food was delicious, dessert was delicious and our wine was wonderful. It was a great dinner and one that we would highly recommend to anyone that appreciates a fine dining experience that is relaxed and not pretentious. You may also have the possibility of great views if you are lucky enough to sit overlooking the waterfall and covered bridge. A very special place.
Beautiful location, wonderful views on the riverfront with a supportive staff who took care of our questions and needs. 10/10 would absolutely come back to visit!
We love Simon Pearce, and it lived up to our expectations once again. Our server was wonderful, and our meals were delicious. We let them know that we were celebrating our anniversary, and they gave us a fabulous table overlooking the dam. It was a perfect occasion!
I left a message to reserve a seat next to the falls. My call wasn't answered, so I thought that was poor.
One thing I hate to have happen is to leave a restaurant hungry and that's what happened. The portions were very small! I had swordfish, which was okay, but really didn't have much flavor and I got hardly any potato's to go with it.
I wouldn't recommend this to friends that may want to go there.
Wonderful. My guests were thrilled.
Beautifully executed ambiance, and impeccable food! Waited a long time to be acknowledged at the bar entrance, at the sign instructing us to wait to be seated, then to be waited on, and then for our drinks. Very understaffed in the bar. Despite having a reservation, we were told when we got there that it was first come, first serve, with seatings at 6, then 6:30, etc., and to get in line. The food was definitely worth the wait- absolutely amazing! They need to work on the entire reception portion of the experience.
Waitress friendly but very slow service.
Not everyone served at same time. Beautiful setting. Food good. Maybe she had too many tables?
In the area since 1st August, this was our 6th meal here this visit. A little disappointed not to have a table beside the water, back again on the 8th so fingers crossed
We had a lovely evening meal at Simon Pearce. Not within control of the restaurant, but the sunset views over the river were spectacular. Within the control of the restaurant -- the food was delicious and expertly prepared; the menu provided an opportunity to sample some of Vermont's best products; the servers were super friendly and helpful and efficient; the wine list was wide-ranging and not super high priced. It was a first-rate experience on all fronts.
We were celebrating our 27th anniversary. This is a very special venue. We were greeted by the host who wished us a happy anniversary and we were then seated at a table overlooking a waterfall. We had great service and the food was excellent. A very special place for our anniversary celebration
It was our 21st wedding anniversary. We got a table that partially overlooked the falls. The service was quick and efficient. My crab cakes were delicious and my husband had lamb. We appreciated that the restaurant wished us a happy anniversary and even stuck a candle in our dessert.
Simon Pearce is in a beautiful area of the country. The food is very good and I would recommend a stop in their glass shop.
This restaurant is amazing! We were in the area for 4 days and were lucky enough to have two of the most beautiful, delicious dinners! This is a must go to place.....foodies will not be disappointed.....can't wait to go back
Amazing!.....everything was perfect, can't wait to return
Outstanding service, food, setting...all the ingredients for a memorable meal!
Wonderful service and food. Varied and excellent wine list with good choices in all price ranges. For a fine Dining venue, an excellent value as well.
This is our "go-to" place when we want to celebrate something, have friends in town or just need to be certain of an excellent meal. The service is ALWAYS excellent. The people who work there truly care about creating a lovely experience for their clientele. I have had most of the standard items on the menu and often try the seasonal items. Their emphasis on local ingredients makes this the perfect place to showcase the foods that are of this area. The dining room or the terrace offer fantastic views of the waterfall and the river. All in all, you just can't find a nice restaurant.
I have been to Simon Pearce for over ten years. The fresh and well put together dishes never failed to impress my palate. The horseradish crusted cod is terrific. So is tomato white bean soup.
We don't come often as we are only in Vermont a few weeks each year, but we love coming and will continue to do so. We typically feel as though the dishes could have been more flavorful - as though a tiny bit of salt, a more delicious sauce or a slightly more tangy dressing would have set off the food in a wow that makes us say, "wow, that was a great food!" to match the quality of the rest of the experience.
Make no mistake - the food is very, very good and it is wonderfully presented.
The online reservation system was very easy to use. Waitstaff was friendly, efficient and extremely knowledgeable about their menu. My entree of Thai Pork was delicious as was my wife’s salmon. This was a very enjoyable experience.
We got a table on the window by the waterfall. Breathtaking! 9pm seatings or Sundays ~11am when they don't take reservations are when you're more likely to get the waterfront tables. Be sure to go downstairs and watch the glass blowers. Go out on the balcony behind the glass blowers to get a picture with the covered bridge and waterfall in the background.
A wonderful dinner and experience!
Menu choices and food was excellent. We sat next to large, loud party but sometimes that happens. We both noted afterword that our fish seemed a little dried out on the surface like it might have spent a little too much time under a heat lamp. We would definitely go back.
