Took my parents here when they were in town from Texas and it was just perfect. My dad loved watching the process of the glass making before dinner and my mom loved looking around the retail store. The food is great and they had a great selection of local beers. It was dark while we were there but I imagine the view is amazing.

My niece and I make it a habit to dine at nice restaurants when we get together. This was, by far, the worst we’ve been too. There was literally no selections on the menu. When we asked for the daily special, they were out. My niece ended up getting the one and only steak on the menu. When she asked for a sharper knife to cut it, she was told they didn’t have any. She was literally cutting her steak with a butter knife. I will never go back, nor will I recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I had an incredibly delicious meal here the other night. The Vermont Cheddar Soup is delicious as were the daily specials! Our waitress Sue was beyond lovely, and we will definitely return the next time we come to town!

Erratic, fast, then slow, and overly intrusive service. Food is pretty ood, but not as gourmet as the pretensions of the restaurant. The service is inadequate for this type of restaurant. This opinion is based on 2 visits.

Simon Pearce has a beautiful ambiance for any special dinner. The highlight of the dinner was the creamy Vermont cheddar soup, spectacular as always. We certainly missed the small baking powder biscuit squares that used to be served with the brown bread. Half organic chicken entree was delicious, however the polenta was bland with a mushroom onion sauce that was too heavy. Vegetables would have complimented the chicken much better. The steak dinner was prepared to our liking but the demiglace sauce was a bit salty, thick and heavy. Dessert featured a chocolate bombe with blackberry sauce which was beautifully presented and delicious. A very sweet ending to our anniversary dinner !

This is a beautiful space and the food is inventive and thoughtfully prepared, although not always as flavorful as the descriptions imply. I've been here over a dozen times and the service is always impeccable. Go in the winter--the waterfall beneath the dining room freezes and looks incredible under the light.

This is a great spot for those who like a fancier dining experience. I found the menu very limited (except for the wine menu....there were plenty of options there). I ordered a salad which was very salty. The waitress came back and said the kitchen wanted to know if I wanted it tossed again...it was salty, not improperly tossed. My entree was the seared artichoke char...it was ok (a tad salty) but I kept thinking I was eating salmon. The dessert was amazing! The tart with vanilla ice cream and a raspberry coulis...delicious

We sent the medium/medium well steak back as it was ordered to be medium rare and the 2nd time was still medium. Great atmosphere in historic mill building that now has glass blowing on the lower level.

The service was as good as I have had anywhere in a long time. Helpful, friendly, relaxed yet attentive, genuine...from arrival to departure. Clearly this is not by accident...great job of training and approach with your service. Would not hesitate to recommend your place.

I would love to see more seafood...scallops and shrimp and calamari for instance. We loved the mussels. And it would be wonderful if you could occasionally throw in a rice or noodle entree. A restaurant that is similar to yours, Gramercy Tavern in NYC, always has one or the other(they have both at the moment) and it provides a nice balance for those who lean in that direction.

One of my all time favorite romantic classic places.
Rose our server was sweet and attentive.
Will ask for a window seat over the river next time looking forward to seeing the water flow underneath the ice this winter.

A pleasant dining experience, but the ambience and setting provide the main reason for going, not the food, which did not live up to the appealinging menu descriptions. The kitchen seems perhaps more intent on quantity than top-notch quality we had in previous occasional visits over the last ten years.
