We eat here regularly. Sunday's dinner was extra special, as there was venison on the menu. Very tender and delicious, although I would have liked a different kind of vegetable to the spaghetti squash, perhaps a green vegetable? The dauphine potatoes, however, worked well with this entree. Both the Vermont Cheddar and the carrot soups were very good, as was the Pavlova dessert. The latter is always a treat at Simon Pearce. A very pleasant Malbec accompanied our meal. Coffee always good here, too. Service was excellent!

Lovely evening. The food was delicious but the steak was slight tough for the price. Would recommend to anyone stopping in the area.

We were in VT for a birthday weekend and we picked Simon Pearce’s restaurant for the birthday dinner. The servers were so friendly and helpful! The food was amazing!! Great ambiance in and out, you get to view all the blown glass in a retail store right outside the restaurant. We will be going back and recommend to all our friends and family. If your in the area this one is a must go!

We drive almost an hour to get to Simon Pearce. It has been our "go-to" restaurants for special occasions for years and has never failed to satisfy. Exemplary service (harder and harder to find that anywhere), interesting and beautifully presented food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Bonus is the opportunity to watch glass-blowing and peruse the lovely glass, pottery and housewares in the shop.

Restaurant was recommended by bed and breakfast in Woodstock, Vt. Did not disappoint . The mussels were delicious as was the cod fish dinner. Who new you can get a perfectly cook fish dinner in the middle of Vermont.

The overall excellence of Simon Pearce is clear from their delightful service, comfortable pace and, most importantly, in their food. We tried the char and the cod and both were delicious. I particularly love the creative accompaniments. Only the bread was disappointing - two types, one an ordinary white baguette and the other a cold quick bread (pumpkin?). But our entrees made up for that. Not a bite was wasted! Dessert choices were fairly ordinary, but our chocolate cake was yummy.

We sat along the glass at night. We were cold. The nighttime view is zero. Crying babies nearby called out for staff intervention. The staff did nothing.

What a treat! We got a table viewing the falls, (which you could even see at night) & really enjoyed our evening. Be sure to allow some extra time to shop for beautiful glassware & watch the fascinating glass blowing too.

Very special setting for a restaurant. It's on the edge of a river and part of a glass specialty store with glass blowing happening when it's open. Small menu, but food was good.

My husband and I were spending several days in Woodstock VT with two couples, all traveling from Long Island, NY. We have been to Simon Pearce before but our friends have not. We wanted their experience in Vermont to be the best possible. Having dinner at Simon Pearce would do just that. The restaurant had several large parties the evening we were dining and did not think we would be able to sit in the room over the falls. When we arrived for dinner we were told that they were able to arrange it so we were in the room I had requested. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and we were all very happy. The dinner was delicious the service was excellent and our friends were very happy.
Thank you!

Took my parents here when they were in town from Texas and it was just perfect. My dad loved watching the process of the glass making before dinner and my mom loved looking around the retail store. The food is great and they had a great selection of local beers. It was dark while we were there but I imagine the view is amazing.

My niece and I make it a habit to dine at nice restaurants when we get together. This was, by far, the worst we’ve been too. There was literally no selections on the menu. When we asked for the daily special, they were out. My niece ended up getting the one and only steak on the menu. When she asked for a sharper knife to cut it, she was told they didn’t have any. She was literally cutting her steak with a butter knife. I will never go back, nor will I recommend this place.

Erratic, fast, then slow, and overly intrusive service. Food is pretty ood, but not as gourmet as the pretensions of the restaurant. The service is inadequate for this type of restaurant. This opinion is based on 2 visits.

Simon Pearce has a beautiful ambiance for any special dinner. The highlight of the dinner was the creamy Vermont cheddar soup, spectacular as always. We certainly missed the small baking powder biscuit squares that used to be served with the brown bread. Half organic chicken entree was delicious, however the polenta was bland with a mushroom onion sauce that was too heavy. Vegetables would have complimented the chicken much better. The steak dinner was prepared to our liking but the demiglace sauce was a bit salty, thick and heavy. Dessert featured a chocolate bombe with blackberry sauce which was beautifully presented and delicious. A very sweet ending to our anniversary dinner !

This is a beautiful space and the food is inventive and thoughtfully prepared, although not always as flavorful as the descriptions imply. I've been here over a dozen times and the service is always impeccable. Go in the winter--the waterfall beneath the dining room freezes and looks incredible under the light.
