Simon Pearce Restaurant
One of our favorite places to visit in New England!
Our experience was excellent. We went to SP the Friday after Valentine's day (to avoid the rush on Valentine's) and the ambience at the restaurant was wonderful. The waiters put us at an optimal table where we could see both the covered bridge and the waterfall. The food was delectable - we had the bread as a starter, followed by the gnocchi, sumac carrots, the prime sirloin, the seared cod, and the panna cotta. Each of the dishes paired perfectly together and we were delighted with the combination of flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the shop and watching the glass blowing downstairs before being seated at our table. Throughout the evening, the waitstaff was kind, welcoming, and warm. Our waitress was kind enough to bring us a second order of bread before the meal to tide us over until our orders got to the table. In all, we loved every aspect of the evening, from the food to the setting to the kind people we interacted with at the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful evening out!
Great meal, great service!
The staff at Simon Pearce are friendly and welcoming yet unobtrusive. Our meal from start to finish was outstanding.
Fantastic meal and a beautiful setting. More than lived up to its reputation.
This was our 2nd Valentines day and we were wowed again. We arrived early and only waited 5 minutes before the original time and we seated in the room above the water. It was wonderful. The only problem we had was that our table was very wobbly so we had to continuously have one of our arms holding the table or pur drinks would have probably spilt all over. Other than that the night was perfect and our waiter Keith was excellent!!!
Valentine’s Day dinner
Food, service, and ambiance are fantastic. I’ve gone a few times now and don’t seem to be impressed by the wines they sell by the glass though.
We have been coming for years and it just gets better. The music was a nice touch, need more of that...
We were there for my husbands birthday dinner. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was exceptionally good. We had a window seat with a great view. We look forward to going back again.
Good food and service and a very nice place to eat. Our favorite.
My wife and I stay in Woodstock every year and we always tell people we meet to go to Simon Pierce. Great place. Thank you.
This dinner was not as great as my first one. Maybe I just had high expectations. There wasn’t anything necessarily bad about this visit, it just wasn’t as great as the first. Food was tasty, but not amazing... dessert wasn’t anything special. Bread was lacking, and I feel like a place like this should have amazing bread! Also I felt like our salads and entrees came out too quickly. I would still recommend and probably go back (maybe to the bar side)!
Excellent food and service. Beautiful atmosphere, hope to make it back again!
Wonderful experience in every way!
Will return again soon!!!!
Great for a fancy date night -- the staff was amazingly friendly and the food was delicious!
First time visit. Heard it would be a great place to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. Parking lot is very dark and icy. Very close together table seating. Not very romantic. Very drunk and loud 4 top next to us, was a big downer. Food was good. We were hoping for super fantastic, but just good. We are not drinkers and still spent $150 with tip. We would love to visit during the day. The glass blowing, river and mill building are a fantastic backdrop.
Another fantastic meal at Simon Pearse. Highly recommended for a special occasion or any occasion.
After viewing photos online, and reading about Simon Pearce restaurant, we were anxious to go. It was everything we thought it would be. Perfect! Food perfect, could tell after the first bite of tuna, and pork. The veggies that came with it were delicious! The dessert, apple cheddar galette, was wonderful! The servers were fantastic! The music and atmosphere was very relaxing, we never felt rushed. We loved our window table, and we certainly enjoyed the waterfall view. We could see why your restaurant is 5 star rated. We wholeheartedly agree! Will tell our friends to go there!
Wendy, my exceptional hostess, located me while browsing the fabulous blown glass items to let me know my table was ready. She personally escorted me to a lovely table with candlelight and an exquisite view of the incredibly beautiful Ottauquechee falls. Sue, my delightful server timed everything perfectly and led me to delicious menu choices. Thank you for a scrumptious meal, amazing view, lovely ambience and music all making my evening dining experience perfect! Cheers!
Awesome experience overlooking the frozen waterfall. Great food, superb service and nice experience to walk downstairs and watch the live glassblowing.
The restaurant (and attached store) are beautiful. The food was some of the best my friend and I have ever eaten (and we eat a lot!). Service was personal and prompt and friendly. Can’t say enough nice things about this place!
Food and wine were superb! We would definitely come back next time we’re in the area!
We had an exceptional time. The food was wonderful (the cod was recommended by our server and was perfect - we also loved the gnocchi appetizer), the ambiance was ideal for a romantic night out. Make sure you get there a bit early to see the glass blowing downstairs before your meal.
Dining experience was just perfect. Very cool building, check out the glass shop and blowing.
Excellent, consistently. We’ve been there for lunch as well. Always excellent and worth a 45 minute drive. It is pricey for dinner
Incredible dinner. My daughter and I had the Vermont Cheddar soup, Arugula salad with warm goat cheese, gnocchi, Salmon entrée and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. We absolutely cleaned every plate like we had not eaten in a week. Fresh and delicious!!Staff was spectacular. Enjoyed walking through the store and watching the glass blower make a few glasses after dinner.
Great dinner at a lovely restaurant. Our server was very attentive but did not rush us. She was very knowledgeable about the food and we took some of her suggestions.
Very nice. Great service excellent food
Fantastic dinner! Service and food were superb. Only minor issue was I requested a table by the window but that was not granted. Maybe it was because I booked a same day reservation?
Amazing food. It was really fun to watch the glass blowing.
This was our 10th visit. The setting is a glass blowing factory on a waterfall. Experience includes tour of attached sales room and glass blowing area. Food is top quality and carefully designed and wait staff well trained and very friendly. Overall experience is worth traveling for.
Tuna was excellent! Of courses, after dinner shopping always fun too.
We were most pleased with the service, food, ambiance and overall feeling if the restaurant at Simon Pierce this past weekend. It was not our first visit and will not be our last. This was a most enjoyable time. Thank you for the experience.
Everything was fantastic!!
The table setting is amazing and the view of the waterfall below the restaurant really sets the dining experience. The service is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. The crusty bread and butter are a perfect compliment to the cheddar soup starter. The halibut was cooked perfectly and was paired with a peppercorn sauce that made the dish complete. The side of roasted vegetables dipped in the peppercorn sauce enhanced the entire meal. I wish I had room for desert, but the main meal was the perfect amount.
My boyfriend and I went during a short Vermont getaway. Simon Pearce totally exceeded expectations. The location was beautiful, restaurant cozy and rustic, service was impeccable and food knocked it out of the park. Each app and entree had such different and unique flavor combinations but still seemed so cohesive. Drinks and dessert were great too. Would definitely recommend it and will be going back next time I’m in VT.
