Simon & Seafort's Ratings and Reviews
Tonight 4 of us had dinner for my wife's birthday. We were sat on time. The service was fast and knowledgeable. Our appetizers were great. We ordered 4 different entrees and each of them were great. I love to come here. The price to me is worth it. I dont mind paying for good food.
Our table was ready by the window and everything was sparkling clean. We were given a menu each and our drink order was taken right after we sat down. The waiter was very attentive and kept checking on us at short intervals. He was right there when we requested anything, including help with the check. I would go back anytime. SMB
My siblings and I decided that we would set up a fancy date for our parents anniversary. They were surprised on Christmas morning when they opened the boxfull of chocolates and a handmade card with the reservations printed out for them. From what I hear from them, Simon and Seaforts has good service, it was pretty busy, so they had to wait for they're food a bit (thats to be expected though), and that they have delicious food. My dad was exclaiming over the tender ribs that he ordered. "Best ribs I've had in my life."
All in all, I'm glad they enjoyed themselves!
Simon and Seaforts is a great place for dates, etc.
Our food was very delicious. However not long after we got there a shrew ran out from under our table and across the floor. We told a waiter and he said he would tell a manager. No one came back to follow up or even say thanks for letting them know. We spent the rest of the time distracted and looking to see if another one would a scurry across. Very disappointed in the lack of communication with the issue.
Good but not exceptional food and service today. We visit with our two pre-teen boys regularly and it's unfortunate that the waitstaff are not as familiar with what should be included with the kids $8.95 menu. In the years we've been dining, 90% of the time the server has no idea that fruit is included with the kid's meal, or has to be reminded to bring it, and we sometimes have to also remind them to bring the kid's dessert sundae. With rare exception we visit at Lunch at off-peak times.
Otherwise consistently good and always a great view.
I am a regular at Simon and Seafort's and have been celebrating New Years day with a dinner at Simon and Seafort's for the past 10+ years. I usually have the prime rib; however, this year I wanted something different and to "spice-up" my life. I started with "traditional" Oysters Rockefeller and they were the best I have ever had at Simons. The oysters were very large and cooked to perfection. For my main course, I tried the blackened salmon and it was very good and definitely did put some "spice" in my life. I finished with Key Lime pie and because I like Simon's Key Lime pie so much, purchased a whole pie to go to share with friends. My server was Amber, and as usual, she was excellent. She was attentive, polite, and provided both good conversation and service.
Lunch and atmosphere were great. The server wasn't. She didn't refill our water glasses, remove appetizer dishes, or ask if we wanted another cocktail. She didn't check on us after we ordered dessert. I will continue to go because this is a great restaurant.
I have been visiting Simons since they opened and have always found it it be top notch in service, value, original dishes and new takes on old favorites. Always send tourist to Simons for the best in Alaska seafoods, always done to perfection. I haven’t been to Simons in several years, and after my visit on Dec. 28, 2017, I remember why it was always my favorite. “I’ll be back”. Can’t beat the view anytime of year.
It was one of the busiest evenings of the year - Christmas Eve - but the staff were super efficient and managed to be warm and friendly at the same time. Not a lot of options other than seafood, but this restaurant IS known for seafood, so it was understandable. One chicken dish might have been nice, since the only option to seafood was beef. Our food was delicious.
We called the night before to ask to expand our number from 4 to 5, and at first were told it was impossible, but then the reservationist offered to speak to her manager, who gave the green light to us adding a person, and we were very grateful.
Definitely not up too their normal standards, had to wait for a wine list for at least 15 minutes after being seated, waiter came to take our food order and hadn’t remembered the wine list. Halibut cheeks were excellent, lobster tail was very mushy, not good. It has need a tradition to come in Christmas Eve for the past six years, this and last year not so good, we will be looking for a new tradition
Our best friends came into town to visit and wanted to try Simon & Seafort’s. We tried so many different things... Everything was delicious! The ahi poke, salmon bisque, stuffed halibut, and filet were insanely good. Some of the other delicious items we had were the crab dip, clam chowder, and French onion soup. The service was excellent. I definitely recommend this place for any occasion!
Amazing food! Amazing staff! However, we were there for our anniversary. Table near the kitchen and the bussing. Couldn't carry on a conversation. No romantic view. Ended up looking like the angry couple instead of the happy couple due to the noise level. LOL. That prime rib & raspberry sorbet made it all worth while.
