Seated at 6pm, by 6:25 when we hadn’t been approached by a waiter (at all) we went up to query why. A manger come by a couple minutes later to apologize and say that the server would be there soon. We asked if we could order something from him “I don’t have a pen”. We couldn’t order what we wanted as we had to be put the door to make a show and the loss of 30min made ordering a main course impossible. We eventually received multiple apologies, but nothing was comped. Very dissatisfied.
We started out with scratch margaritas (thank you for having it on the happy hour menu) then crab dip which was amazing. Then I had the filet for dinner. My companion had the three seafood dish and it was yummy also. Food was all good and we really enjoyed it. The server wad very nice and friendly as well. I am moving out of Alaska so my goal is to go to dinner at my most favorite restaurants before I leave town. Simon and Seafort’s is at the top of my list! Great place to eat, relax and enjoy good company. Need to come back for desserts!
The food, service, and ambiance was all wonderful. Will definitely go back for more!
food was good. but service was slow. Waiter was basically attentive, but it took over an hour to receive our food from the kitchen. I understand COVID has made it difficult to find staff, but they could have reduced the tables, to let the staff catch up
Great food VERY LOUD
The only issue we had was that it took 20 minutes to get our desserts after ordering.
Our server - Erika - was just fabulous
Upbeat and full of smiles
Excellent place for prime rib and seafood. Special thanks to Elizabeth for her recommendations and story telling- she made our meal that mucin more enjoyable.
Food is amazing, service and atmosphere are stellar
Long layover and I usually go to Kinley’s but this was a very pleasant experience.
Good meal and nice atmosphere whether you Are celebrating something special or just stopping in for a meal on your way to somewhere else.
The food and service was very good. The problem was an adjoing table was very loud and highly opionated and is not afraid to voice it.
The worst dining experience we have ever had. Made reservations for 630 we arrived early at 611 they seated us early I was having some back issues so we asked to be seated in a booth so they move us. They we proceeded to not be waited on for literally 25 minutes no water bread ect.
We had our waitress pass by us Numerous times looked at our table and didn’t even serve us anything my wife however had to go to the hostess and ask who are Waitress Was.
Needless to say our waitress finally realizes that we are her table and then proceeds to give us our water take our order and we patiently wait again.
We get one of our appetizers I think nothing of it because I ordered blackened halibut but I did order half a pound of asparagus with béarnaise sauce our waitress basically ruins my order and subs out my meals vegetables for asparagus which I had ordered for an appetizer.
Waitress communicates with her manager manager comes to our table says how he’s so sorry about our dining experience and takes our crab dip appetizer off of our bill as a courtesy for our troubled experience.
My wife and I come to Simon and Seifert at least 4 to 6 times out of the year generally speaking we sit in the bar have a couple cocktails and order our food never have we ever had an issue.
What was supposed to be a special night for us both was pretty much railroaded from the beginning with lack of communication by the staff and deflection of staffing issues conveyed to us by the manager.
If and when we decide to have a date night we will most likely be sitting in the bar instead of making reservations because that just seems to work better for us.
Please don’t get me started on how we felt semi profiled by the staff not a good experience at all I’m going to write to corporate
Was a very relaxing and great meal. Staff was very friendly and good service!
Halibut cheeks were over done, had to send back. Replacement was good but you only get 3 with a small scoop of mashed potatoes for $37 ... not impressed. I like Simons much better before they sold it to new owners.
Enjoyed our evening and a wonderful dinner. Our favorite place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
Always excellent food at Simon’s! I had the scallops and they were perfectly cooked.
Haven’t been here for several years. Still a great place for this 50 + year Alaskan!!!
Food wasn’t that great. The crab sandwich didn’t have much crab. It was more of a soupy mix. Very hard to eat too.
Loved our whole dinner. Service and food were awesome! Thankyou!
My wife and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary. We were very pleased with the quality of food, service, and dining atmosphere at Simon’s. We have been eating at this establishment since the 1970s and it is probably the most consistent place in Anchorage for high-quality dining.
Dined here for my wife’s birthday. Requested window seating but was placed n the back corner of the restaurant. Several entrees came out cold to include my wife’s steak. Near the end of the meal the restaurant became very Smokey; we were told it was from cooking a steak? The smoke lingered for over 10 minutes. This was an expensive meal and just didn’t live up to what I had hoped. Our server was very nice and helpful.
Birthday, pretty dead given the New Years festivities a couple days before so it was basically our group in the bar side.
The restaurant was very cold. While I understand it is winter and an old building there should be some thought gone into the outside temp and when the heat should be turned up. It should be that cold the entire time
Very disappointed. We waited an hour for our meal, and it was lukewarm and wilted when it arrived. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly. Perhaps they were short-staffed. We have been several times in the past and been pleased, but the quality of the food and service left much to be desired on this occasion.
Simon’s is always great and they were exceptional this time. From the seating, to the sever, to the delicious meal, it was perfect.
Very nice dinner for New Years. Great service. Our waiter was outstanding: personable, knowledgeable of the menu and prompt. The food was excellent: we had halibut cheeks that were excellent, a filet that was cooked to perfection and a very tasty seafood trio of scallops salmon and shrimp. We were exceptionally pleased with the dinner and will return the next time we are in Anchorage
Good set menu and price for New Years Eve.
Love the food and environment. One of our favorite date night places!
The service was great. The food was just over salted.
We had heard that Simon and Seafort's was THE place to go in Anchorage for an upscale meal, but rather disappointed by what we got when we went. We got their New Year's Eve special steak entree; I ordered it medium and it was closer to the rare side of mid-rare. I considered sending it back and decided against it because we had other plans after dinner.
The server was very friendly and helpful when we needed something!
The drinks were severely overpriced for what we received, though; I could barely taste the gin in my $16 martini.
If you're looking for a nicer meal in Anchorage, look somewhere else.
New Year’s Eve lunch was great, great Service ,highly recommend the fresh seafood Louie salad.
Food was over cooked and the waiter wasn’t very attentive.
Food was great except out of the main food we went to eat for… Salmon! But other than that it was great!
Been our favorite restaurant for many years and always have a very good experience.
As always Simon's is our go to place to dine and would recommend it to anyone seeking a good quality dining experience.
Great place to go for seafood ! Great service and great food!
Had the halibut. It was very good and not to too loud
