Simon & Seafort's
Excellent service and excellent meal. Simons is my favorite restaurant in Anchorage for a good reason!
Simon and Seaforts has been a family favorite for 30+ years. The last 4-5 times have not been great. Went for birthday dinner tonight. Service was okay, but hurried. All 5 entrees that were ordered came out lukewarm, not hot. Told the server and he said "sorry about that". The prices are high for what you get- cold steak and prime rib, a "scoop" of cold mashed potatoes, some cold asparagus, and some dried and cold fettuccine. Don't think we will come here again anytime soon.
Very slow service but great seating and a free cake for the birthday boy!!!
Food was cold when it came out. Waiter was not around much. When he did come to table we had to repeat ourselves several time and then we’d still end up waiting on the drinks.
The service just wasn’t the usual. Definitely could have been better all the was around. We had a bill that was well over $250 and yet the whole experience wasn’t worth $50.
Great seafood ... expensive but u get the best quality!
The food was fresh, well prepared and plated. Hot on arrival and exceptionally tasty. Loved the experience, a definate return is in order.
Always our go to date night when in Anchorage. Highly recommend the macadamia nut crab halibut!
Food was good. Service was good. Everything was as to be expected
Best meal we have had at simons
Our waiter was outstanding please give him a pat on the back and hand shake for job well done
all your other staff was very helpful also
It was good but not great. Maybe an off night. Been around a long time, maybe next time will be better.
Out good was excellent and the service was very good. The server even pointed out the gluten free menu offerings for me. We were all very pleased with everything
It was a great dinner out with a friend. We were able to split the entree with no extra charge. Very friendly waitress and very accommodating. My only dislike was the pale, almost all white, romaine lettuce of the side salad.
Probably should refrain from asking if reservation is for a special occasion because little or nothing is done. Reminded our server that it was a birthday and upcoming military deployment for family member. A candle was stuck into a dessert we ordered and paid for. Nothing done or even said about deployment. The last time I celebrated my own BD there the waiter forgot the dessert and our food (lunch) took over 30 minutes to arrive. There was only one other table of four people eating at the time. Seemed like there was some kind of conflict going on between the server and kitchen staff. Food is usually pretty good but lately the vegetables and potatoes have been very salty.
We had a 6:30 reservation, arriving a little early because we had symphony tickets for 8. Our table was ready on time, we had a drink in the bar area, and the transition of the tab to the table was seamless. We told our server of our time constraints, and he took our order right away, facilitated the splitting of an entree, served the appetizer quickly, and generally made sure we were able to eat without feeling rushed and were able to make it to the symphony on time. Great service and great food.
Simon’s was very busy so maybe I should cut them some slack but the food was very subpar. The clam chowder was cold as was the scallops dish which included a risotto which was congealed and not hot.. The rack of lamb had cooled off the the extent that that fat had congealed. The vegetables with the lamb were cold. The only dish properly prepared and delivered hot were the mussels and the bread. We learned a lesson not to come back on a Saturday night.
Another problem is that the drop off pullout in front of the restaurant is being used as a parking spot by some diners, even though there are no parking signs. The hostess said that the building did not belong to them so they were not responsible but if my customers were being inconvenienced I would take or accept the responsibility.
The food and cocktails were amazing, service great with a pleasant atmosphere. It could only have been better if we’d made reservations early enough to get a window view seat!
Normally very good. I think they had an off-night this time. The waiter must have had too many tables ... he was gone much of the time. After ordering, we waited for 35 minutes with just our drinks and bread before any food came out. And when it came, it was our entree! We didn't get our appetizers (chowder and bisque). We stated this and they took the entrees away. Then they came back and explained they were making more chowder. They asked if we wanted to wait longer or have our entrees. We didn't want cold entrees so asked for that first, knowing they were already finished and sitting under heat lamps. About half way through the entree, they brought our soups. Should I finish my entree or start on the soup??? I chose to finish the entree and by then, the soup was barely warm. I didn't eat it. My wife's chowder, normally really good and rich, was like an oatmeal consistency. She said she'd not order it again. They discounted our ticket and provided desert at a discount too. However, it was not the evening we had hoped for to celebrate her birthday. Have loved this spot for years. This night ... not so much.
Living in Anchorage this is not our first experience nor will it be our last. Excellent in all aspects.
It was busy for a week day. The woman's bathroom was unsafe. Water all over the floor and trash. The host was notified and nothing was done to clean up the mess.
The crab legs were the best I’ve ever tasted! The service was top notch. Definitely would go back
Had a blast and our server was amazing! He made my birthday absolutely awesome!
Sunday late brunch. The best thing about Simon table service was better. Separate bar area can be very loud when full.
It was perfect
I can say enough good things about our server. He was so friendly,
personable and professional. Very willing to please. It was a lovely evening.
Seafood is always very tasty and generally well-prepared (i.e. not overcooked). Wife's halibut was not overcooked, but could have been a little less done. My scallops and crab rissoto were just right.
Everything was so nice on our date night. And we loved having Amber for our server! She is fabulous.
Still a lot of noise
I come to Anchorage once a year, but I always make an effort to eat at this establishment. Great service here!
Met with 4 friends for a casual and very tasty lunch at Simon's. Always love going there and the food is excellent! Highly recommend.
I took a friend here for her birthday. The food was on point and the atmosphere was cozy but elegant. The servers were polite and helpful.
As always dinner was delicious!!
Our server was attentive and greet with conversation. Always look forward to food for any reason here!
Food was mediocre, quality has continued to slide over the years. Especially for the price
Not all my family and friends showed up but the staff treated me like a queen. I didn’t feel out of place due to the lesser number. The food was excellent. Our waiter, Mr Roland, was superb. He’s birthday is the day after mine (15 Jan) and his last name is spelled the same as my son’s last name. So I was duly blessed. Thank you. Even when my mom showed up, he was very attentive to her as well. Kudos to Mr Roland! By the way, he did introduce himself but it was a pleasure addressing him by his last name.
Great prime rib and great drinks from a top notch bartender.
Honestly very disappointed on a supposed special engagement turned uncomfortable, even the Chaplin who was doing a very private wedding dinner asked for the brides meal to be taken off the bill because the special halibut cheek dinner was over cooked and none was eaten. The server never came back to check on the meals after delivered due to when he served our food he put in my dinner order wrong which never came out until after dessert was ordered to go. I've brought many of clients in over the years and thought Simons could provide a quite place to have a pre-marriage ceremony, our official will be in Hawaii this time next year. But the whole experience was focused on how Simons has gone down hill food and service.
Just had to share!
We came for my birthday, but this was the first time we were most disappointed in the meal my husband received. My Asiago halibut cheeks were delightful! But my husband’s New York steak was a terrible cut. I felt bad for him. He carved and carved on that thing to get some choice bites ending up with a big pile of gristle. Our waiter took the meal off the bill, but we were disappointed still.
My dad’s birthday dinner was great! Simon and Seaforts is consistently a family favorite restaurant for excellent service, superior food quality (meals cooked perfectly from prime rib to halibut/cheeks; Mojitos and Margaritas were delicious!), and my nephew loved the placemat jokes and coloring page! Too dark outside for the view (winter dinner), but we’ve enjoyed seeing it before! Highly recommend this restaurant!
We went for our anniversary dinner and Simons Laos our rose petals on our table. It was the perfect touch. Our server, Steve, was on point the entire meal. We will be requesting his section from now on! Our food was cooked perfectly and our substitution requests were not a problem. Love Simons and this dinner was no exception.
