Simon & Seafort's Ratings and Reviews
Simon and Seaforts use to be our favorite place to eat while visiting Anchorage. Unfortunately this visit was far below standards in every way. Service was marginal even though it was a Sunday night and not very busy. Food came lukewarm at best including the crab artichoke appetizer. Bread didn't taste fresh and our entrees were also lukewarm. The waiter forgot the side of crab legs and after a reminder and another lengthy absence he came back to say it would be another few minutes. I had to cancel them because we were ready for our check by then. It was Birthday celebration for my son and his wife, the only high point being the key lime pie they offered as their Birthday desert! Absolutely delicious.
Please work on being that 5 star place we remember you being!
I’ve been going to Simon’s for years. It’s a great local restaurant. Salmon was very good - not overdone. Service was great and they were very accommodating for dietary requests. It’s still one of the few go-to restaurants you can count on for consistently good experience.
Another fabulous evening of dining at Simon & Seafort's. Six of us for dinner. Everyone, it seemed ordered something different, and it was all good. Good wine, good cocktails, great service, and good family. We've been coming here since it opened way back in the late 70's (can't recall just when it opened). Its our special dining out place.
The food we have had the past few times has not been great. I had a special of meatloaf and it was edible and I would not recommend or have again. I think it had a barbeque tasting sauce on it that caught me by surprise. Save your money and don't get the "nachos" either. Besides that everything was great!
My husband and I do 1 good date night a month and our last experience was wonderful,Excellent on all fronts. This visit was awful from the time I arrived. The desk host, an older lady was rude. We had 7:30 reservations. She said u have to wait. It’s not 7:30 yet. Did not say anything about waiting in the bar or anything pleasant. We waited until 7:40 and I asked again. She asked me “the name” as if we had not been there the entire time. After we got to our table, there were several open tables and people still waiting leading us to wonder why S&S had us waiting. The food was excellent, but it did not wipe out bad treatment. We won’t be back.
Our last night in Alaska we read reviews and decided to dine at Simon & Seafort's. It's difficult to describe, but the menu and presentation is more appealing than the actual served meal. The service and ambiance are the draw. Beginning our evening in the bar waiting for our table, "Happy Hour" seems like the best time to take advantage of affordable prices and an opportunity to sample various menu items.
The Hostess was outstanding ...warm..welcoming and deluxe service and attention!
(OK FULL disclosure..Jania is my granddaughter :) but I know she loves her job and it's the perfect fit for her because that's just the kind of person she is.and always has been...very social and making sure her friends, family and now S & S patrons have a great time!)
Of course, Kyle gave us excellent service! We truly enjoyed our meal which was delicious and looked beautiful...we had a wonderful time and never felt rushed. We also enjoyed the generosity of the gift dessert. Sadly my CC became MIA..(my fault) but management was most kind when I called the next morning. And I know extra effort was made my Kyle to see if he could find it when Jaina alerted him. It's no wonder the Simon's is the favorite restaurant of so many who live in Anchorage!
