This is a great place to eat when you go to a show at the performing arts center. They have wonderful food and wine and great service, as well as a prix fixe menu which is a great value. The servers are excellent and they were able to accommodate my change requests (food allergies and preferences). I also got a free birthday dessert which was really good (toffee cake).
They create a very welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

Caesar Salad was made with older lettuce. Lamb chops so tough barely edible. In the past the food had been fairly good , but this last occasion was just ok. Great location for theater so we will try again. I hope the chef has better food suppliers the next time.

What an amazing night ,started in the Bar with some amazing cocktails ,one served in a copper pineapple mug ,very impressive . Moved to the dining area and had the best service in Orange County .The GM/Wine Director recommended some delicious wines ,we liked the fact that he never pushed expensive wines like most of the restaurants do .Very knowledgeable staff and very attentive .Short rib was melting in your mouth and very flavorful ,our guests Lamb and NY strip steak were done to perfection .Great experience cant wait to go back with our friends.

Decent food, wonderful server, but it wound up being a bit expensive for a meal that was good enough, but not particularly memorable. We went to see a play at South Coast Rep, so it was extremely convenient. They validate parking, so you don't have to pay to park at the show.

Unfortunately the restaurant was not up to it's usual level of excellence. Seat at a table for 6 our group of four found it difficult to talk across the table. The food was not prepared to order and the service was slow supposed due to a problem in the hotel. We had to skip dessert to make our concert and arrived as they were giving the two minute warning. The manager did comp our meals only after I seriously complained.

This place has a great wine menu and a good number of different dining choices.
We eat here often before a show at the segerstrom center for the arts or South Coast Repertory. Easy walk across the street and free parking if you eat dinner in the restaurant!

The salad was excellent. The scallops and shrimp were done well, not over cooked. The rack of lamb was seasoned well, a bit much salt but very tasty. There were 8 ribs with quite a lot of meat on them. The risotto was one of the best we've had. One of the diners found it too chilly inside, but otherwise all was great.

Chose it purposefully knowing it is not popular or crowded on Monday for a quiet business dinner. Only one other table was in the place with us. Nice remodel of both the restaurant, the bar and the patios. Like the hand towels touch in the washrooms.

Have eaten here several times but this last visit was disappointing. Steaks were definetly not cooked as ordered...well done vs rare on one which the kitchen did redo. Way too much pepper on the grilled tomatoes. We allowed plenty of time to eat before the symphony but arrived with just minutes to spare. Will probably try in again in hopes this was just an off night.

We love Silver Trumpet for pre-theatre suppers as it is a 4-5 minute walk to the theatres of Orange County Performing Arts Center. They also validate parking in their garage. Our server, Stephanie, was delightful and efficient. We love the menu. They also have a good Happy Hour but it ends a little early, 6:00. They do have outdoor seating as well.

The Grill Chicken with Mashed Potatoes was an awful dish. I could not eat the chicken which was not properly cooked. It was just boiled and served with mashed potatoes and some sauce on my plate. no taste at all. moreover, the chicken was also not good. I ate mashed potatoes and left the restaurant, never to return. Till the end of my stay in Avenue of Arts, I went out for my dinners. never even thought of returning to Silver Trumpet.
However, the staff was very cordial and sweet.

The sea bass was the best I have ever tasted and I know good fish. Server Mitchell was knowledgeable and down to earth kind. Made substitutions and checked to see what was needed. A beautiful interior and free parking if under two hours. Go there!

Hotel restaurant. Don't really know much about it. We were shopping in the area and found it on line. Planned on sharing a turkey burger but went with the chicken quinoa plate after a bread basket was delivered. My husband liked the lunch, but I thought it needed a bit more seasoning. Rolls were rubbery. Turns out they're kept in a warmer all day. The server replaced it with a very nice foccacia - which arrived at the end of the meal. We ate several pieces out of guilt at it being brought special for us and because it was good. We ate outside facing the lake. Excellent service. Parking was validated. If we're in the neighborhood again, we'd probably give it another chance.

Every single item in the dinner menu we have tasted was too salty. It is an expensive restaurant Prefix is a great value given some of the entrees cost as much as the prefix. The wine selection was decent.

The restaurant was very quiet. I'm not sure if it's because it was a Saturday night or there were not a lot of patrons in the hotel. The menu was excellent. They had a 3 course prix fixed menu for a reasonable price. The food presentation was inviting and everything was delicious. Our server was in training and since there were only a few table occupied, he was attentive.

The food is about what I've come to expect in vacation locations. Mediocre, but not awful and not wonderful either. The clam chowder gets kudos for more clams than spuds for a change. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered. It was also just "okay," but I think it would have been better if I'd ordered it with no sauce. The sauce was really unpleasant and cloying. If the menu said there was a sauce, I didn't notice it. I had a bite from the short-rib burger - excellent. The scallops were overcooked, so who know how they might have been? Why can no restaurant seem to be capable of NOT overcooking scallops. Very, very, very HOT pan, a quick sear and two minutes later...oh, well. The wine list is well-curated and I especially appreciate that they do not mark up to the pricing stratosphere like so many restaurants tend to do. The top notch waiter helped to make the evening overall, a nice outing.

OK, you have a perfect restaurant except for the terrible food. The ambience is lovely. It is not too noisy. It is perfect to go to before the theater, ballet or performance at Sergestrom. The easy parking is free. The staff are friendly.

However, The quality of your dinner is getting worse each time. To the point where I don't feel like bringing anyone there again. And I have been there at least five times in the past. Perhaps you should stop making fish. The price is high and the cooking is bad. This time my food was OK. Except really, how about giving some free vegetables on the plate?
My friend's salmon was overcooked and look like a dead tiny piece of fish on her plate. Our shared crabcakes were the worst I've had in a long time. Also, the bread that is served is soft White and really bad.
Your pricing is completely out of range for your quality.
Then, we went to the bar after the ballet to get some coffee and share a dessert. It was absolutely freezing. The bartender replied nastily when I asked why it was so cold; "because I keep it that way!"
It was unbearable. So at that point, disappointingly we left.

I brought my mom who is visiting from out of town here before the ballet. I had always wanted to try it out and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. To start our waitress, though nice, couldn't seem to make it to our table to even start a drink order. She did however come by 4 times to tell us she would be right with us. After about 30 minutes we were able to place our order (and mind you, it was not terribly busy at the time). Our food finally arrives and the scallop and shrimp meal my mom ordered for $35 had exactly 2 small-medium scallops on the plate and about 5 medium shrimp and a large amount of very pasty risotto. My filet came which I had asked for it to be cooked medium rare. It was medium at best and when I politely asked the manager if this was the way they prepared a steak medium rare he snapped back very rudely, YES! My truffle risotto side was also pasty. I had asked for a glass of red wine to be served with my meal...I had to ask twice and when it finally came I was half way done with my meal. By the way, we never saw our server again after she took our order...well not until the end of the meal when she dropped off my $150 bill with no pen and no customer receipt. Needless to say, I was more than disappointed and will NOT be returning. I wish I had kept my original reservation at Morton's!
