We felt that the atmosphere was outstanding, the service was great, although for the restaurant style he could have been dressed more appropriately, but the food was way too garlicky and spicy. However, we are older people, and spicy food does not agree with us. Therefore, all in all, we wasted our money on the food we chose....
Really enjoyed our brunch at the Silver Trumpet. Our server, James, was great, even though he seemed to have too many tables. We'd like to return for dinner sometime.
Walking in we thought it was more upscale than it turned out. The only thing I saw that looked cheap was the patio tables everything else was very nice. I had the rack of lamb, very good! The cocktails we ordered were unique and tasty.
We had a great experience eating here. The restaurant was cozy and romantic. The food was excellent! We highly recommend the filet mignon! The server, Rebecca, was so nice and on top of it. My husband and I had tickets to see The Phantom of the Opera. Our server was watching the time so we wouldn't be late to the show. Overall we made a nice memory and highly recommend this place!!
Everything was lovely. Except the giant beetles. One flew into the butter and got stuck.
The Chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection even the grilled vegetable accompaniment was amazing. My son’s medium rare steak cooked to order & lamb lollipops were also perfectly seasoned & cooked as well. Will be dining here next time we stay @ the hotel.
We go to the Silver Trumpet quite frequently, and it never fails to satisfy. We love the ambiance, the decor, and the food is always prepared very well. The staff is warm, welcoming, and know how to interact without being intrusive. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who wants a fine dining experience in a relaxed environment.
My dear friend Diane and I had never been to the Silver Trumpet. We chose it because it was a half way point for the two of us to meet in-person for the first time after working together for 15 years via telephone and email. It turned out to be the perfect spot ... so peaceful and serene. The welcome was very warm, the service was of the utmost, and the food delicious! We hope to meet there again. Thank you so much for making it a lovely occasion! Jenny
Great food. Good service. Very quiet on a Sunday evening. We had pre fixe. Excellent value. Highly recommend!
4 Went for brunch. Half were pleased with crab benedict and lox bagel dishes. Half were disappointed with Turkey panini and lobster omelet which was fishy & cold. Nice room, excellent service. They gladly replaced omelet.
Expensive. But a handy place to go when you are going to a voncert at Segerstrom. Parking is validated.
The Silver Trumpet is always a pleasure! Views onto a lake and lovely park from both the dining room and patio dining area, good menu choices including a fixed menu, and sometimes live music. Easy walk to the Segerstrom Center.
Great for pre theatre!
They are a first rate restaurant with attentive service. Great for a quiet business lunch or pre-Symphony dinner.
Always excellent service, Jorge always takes great care of us. The food never disappoints
Amazing!!! Loved the service, food, outdoor seating!!
Silver Trumpet is definitely a tucked away, secluded hidden gem
2nd visit to this location. Outstanding.
convenient location, very professional service staff and good food.
Lovely venue, great food and service - a tad pricey but worth it for a fun night out.
Nour provided thoughtful service. The food was excellent and the restaurant is quite beautiful. A lovely experience.
It's a shame that this restaurant/bar can't be at the same high level of quality as the hotel in which it resides. The hotel is absolutely first rate...great staff, lovely rooms, etc..
However the Trumpet Bar is another story. I was told they would be serving food until 11:00PM, and so planned to eat after my work. When I arrived, I was told they stopped around 9:30PM. I then asked if there was any way they could find some food since it was my only option at that point. They brought me a menu, but when several other people inquired about food, the server said that no food was being served, and that included me. This is not the first time this has happened, and is why I checked earlier in the day to make sure there would be food until 11:00PM. I don't know if they're all confused, or just dishonest. They need to take a lesson from the excellent hotel management team and get new restaurant management.
Great spot for a nice meal. Quiet location. Easy access to park. Food is consistent and portions are reasonable.
Just o.k. Service was extremely slow. Could imagine atmosphere being delightful at night but don't think I'll be seeking it out anytime soon.
As always I made my reservation through Oepn Table but received a call from the restaurant to confirm the reservation. I was unable to call back so when we arrived we were told that we could sit in either the bar or outside. We chose outside and even though we had blankets and a heater, it was not comfortable, due to wind, however the noise level outside was much better than we noticed in the dining room.
Key lime pie was outstanding and the restaurant is convenient to the Segerstrom complex but we will not be going back.
Featured French Onion soup was served lukewarm, greasy and poor taste. Salad greens were not fresh and poorly constructed. But the wine was expensive.
Great service, food and atmosphere!
I highly recommend it to anyone! Nice place to visit before a show at Segestrom.
We love this restaurant. The food, the service is always spot on. It is a very beautiful place.
Great place for Prom dinner!
We had a great experience here -- top to bottom. Graduation brunch with 10 people ranging from grandparents to toddler. Bright, airy dining area. Manager went out of the way to give us a large table to ourselves (on relatively short notice). Service was attentive and professional. Food was well-prepared and presented and menu selections were varied enough for all tastes in our party.
The service was great, the food was amazing. My wife said that the rack of lamb she ordered was the best she's had.
When you do it right the first time you don't need to have a review but I feel it is my privilege to let everyone know how fantastic it is to go to a restaurant that does it exactly right! So if you are looking for the best date place or take a friend to dinner place search no more you have arrived at your destination. The Silver Trumpet!
Our first dinner at the Silver Trumpet and we will definitely return! The overall experience was excellent and the timing perfect to catch our 7:30 show. We both opted for the 3 course meal - one with wine pairing and the designated driver without. Everything was perfect and unique. Our server Lala was a delight! I would highly recommend this restaurant and will return again. Oh and if you are seeing a show, they validate your parking next door which we did not know, so that will save you $12 on parking!
One of the best secrets near south coast plaza. You can have a wonderful dinner with creative cocktails and walk to the theater or south coast plaza and your parking is comped. We eat there every time we attend a play. Saw Fiddler on the Roof this week and had a delightful dinner before hand. I am not sure why every theater goer does not eat here and park for free.
Had the lamb chops but flavor of the meat was completely disguised by some spice/condiment that was used on chops. Had previously had same meal and it did not have spice/condiment and was much more flavorful.
The truffle risotto was amazing. We also enjoyed the key lime pie and chocolate pistachio mousse. Amazing!!!
Mother’s Day & theater event. The location to Segerstrom was great. Charcuterie plate was ok, cheers not explained. Slow service for a drink, decor is a bit random, Dinner overall was good all of our main courses were seasoned well, cooked well and delivered timely.
Everyone is entitled to a bad day, but the Silver Trumpet had more than a bad day on Mother's Day. Overwhelmed with an event, they were off for those of us in the dining room. My son had completely raw chicken tenders (not even sure how they could have been golden on the outside and raw on the inside). My other son's roasted heirloom potatoes were also raw. The worst of it was that they then tried to lie about the chicken tenders and brought out cooked and hot ones (30 minutes later) to show that we must have been mistaken. Luckily, I had a picture of my son's bite mark into a completely raw tender. When I confronted the manager/chef about the lie and asked to take a picture of the one he was trying to pawn off as ours, he couldn't run back to the kitchen fast enough. Bad choice.
The Open Table reservation was misleading in the sense that when I made the reservation, at no time did Open Table or the restaurant mention that it was solely a Mother's Day Brunch at $70/head with tax and service charge $87.50/ head and bottomless mimosas were extra! Really???. This was way over our budget, the restaurant had a rating of $$, we were expecting to pay $50/ head tops! Not to mention we were asked to leave by 12 noon because there was another seating. It was Mother's day, we had my 85 year old Mother we us, who I did not want to upset so we just went along like everything was ok. Needless to say I am very upset.
