Wonderful food! We were interested in a wild game selection and chose the bison tenderloin. It was delicious! Our waiter was very helpful and answered all of our questions.
Food was excellent and our server Austin was super attentive and did an awesome job.
We had the Sunday Prime Rib special. The service was prompt and the bread was very fresh. The beef was the best we have had, and we previously had enjoyed it on other Sundays. perhaps the spicing was better than usual. We strongly recommend this particular Sunday special.
This restaurant is in The Wort Hotel. It is a beautiful historic building. If I went again I would just go for a drink in the bar to enjoy the building, decor and ambiance. I found there were many better restaurants in Jackson Hole.
Elk pot roast came out cold and pork chop was over cooked and dry. Attentive waiter immediately returned it to kitchen. New dishes were better but still not hot or well cooked. Apps and salad were fine but not memorable. Hate to say it, but this is a tourist trap. Should’ve heeded the warning signs and looked elsewhere fora good meal in Jackson.
Six of us dined on Sunday, Feb. 18 and all ordered the Prime Rib to be cooked medium. It came back with grill marks and it is was so tough you couldn't cut it with a steak knife. My daughter had a bowl of chili that was laden with cheese that you couldn't taste the chili. The baked potato tasted like it was days old, frozen then reheated. The waiter - was nice, however he said this is how everything is cooked. We have dined there once before, however we won't be going back. Definitely would not recommend this place.
We had breakfast every day and on this night. The menu has great variety and the food and service are always exceptional.
The steak was probably the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. It was cooked the right temperature, but the meat was awful. The best part of this restaurant was the corn chowder and the fact there was a bar located right next door.
We gave this restaurant 3 stars just because we have found the food in Jackson to be average at most restaurants. It was pretty empty the night we were there but the food was good. We had the corn chowder but it was more of a creamy potato soup. The shrimp appetizer was delicious. The panzanella salad would have been better if they used fresh croutons. They seemed to be from a bag.
Excellent variety of delicious entrees on their dinner menu. Attentive wait-staff. An enjoyable meal was had by all-- 3 of us had the steelhead trout (SUPER YUMMY), one had the walleye (very tasty) and one had the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection. You can't go wrong in eating here.
Very fun, Wild West style restaurant. Food was good too
The service was a bit slow. Dinner which was one appetizer and 6 entrees took around 2 hours. Yes, I enjoy a slow paced meal, but this just seemed very slow. I also didn’t like that the salad came with the meal, it only comes before if you ask, and our waitress did not tell us. We ordered the Bison Tenderloin and the ribeye. The Bison Tenderloin was good, probably should have ordered rare instead of medium rare, it was a bit dry. The ribeye was not good, didn’t have any flavor. The spicy shrimp appetizer was amazing, especially the sauce. We would probably go back, but if we had limited time, we would choose somewhere else.
We were very excited to eat at the Silver Dollar for Christmas dinner. The prime rib was tough and cold when served, and I returned my risotto with root vegetables- I added chicken to it. When it was delivered to the table the smell was not appetizing, but I still gave it a good three bites before I sent it back.
On the upside, a lot of history there, and the flourless chocolate torte was fantastic!
Overall, overpriced and we had several better meals in Jackson.
Always good food and good times, great service, great staff
We ate in the bar because the dining room was full, food was amazing, great atmosphere and wonderful service! We will go back!
The salad was crisp and fresh. The burgers tasty and thick. The elk chili tasty with large tender chunks of meat. The spare ribs appetizer over corn was spot on. We tried a local beer that had a light refreshing taste. We were throughly satisfied with each of our choices. Our server was very knowledgeable and personable.
Anniversary dinner. After we were seated, the waiter made initial contact, then disappeared for 20-25 minutes. I’ll note here that we were the only customers in the room at that time. When he returned, I ordered a dinner salad and a 10 oz ribeye, medium well. No parmesean cheese was requested on the salad; however, when the salad arrived, it was covered in parmesean cheese. He took it back and returned with the correct order. Then the steak arrived; it was dropped off and he disappeared. I cut into the steak and was bleeding, it was medium rare, if that. At this point, I had enough and ate what I could. My wife flagged him down, told him it was raw and needed to go back on the grill. I told him never mind. The manager (Kate) stopped by to ask how our dinner was so I gave her the details above. She apologized and said this was not the standard the restaurant operates to. She took care of our bill, even though I told her we would pay it. Not sure I will go back again
One of the best dining options in Jackson. Food was great .. you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Wine list is good and not overpriced. A place where to can eat and talk without shouting across the table. I highly recommend it.
Thanksgiving dinner with a friend. We started with one of their specialty drinks - Montana Mule - definitely a must have! The brussel sprouts were a wonderful start to a festive meal. I would love to have the recipe. The soups were tasty but too rich and the french onion soup was salty. My friend was disappointed with her pork chops as the were slightly overcooked. (She was comped her Montana Mule) My elk was very tasty. The portion was large and I was only able to finish half. A huckleberry sorbet finished the meal. I had ordered a glass of wine, and the waiter forgot to tell me it was not available until I asked once the main course was served. I was not asked if I would like a different wine. Overall it was a pleasant meal, and I was happy to taste elk but probably would not order it again if I have the opportunity. I like to try native foods - would choose bison, trout or walleye over elk.
They were very busy for Thanksgiving dinner but their staff were prepared with minimal wait times in the buffet lines. The Alaskan king crab legs and the corn chowder were excellent. Great atmosphere in a historic hotel. The service was excellent despite how busy they were.
We had a wonderful dinner at the Silver Dollar Grill.
Jake our server was great and we enjoyed talking with him.
The Wort Hotel is an awesome place.
We also had breakfast there three times, very good.
We really enjoyed our meal at the Silver Dollar Grill. We had good beer and wine. We ordered the ribeye steak. The steak was good, but for the price I would expect prime and I don't think it was. The mashed potatoes, asparagus, and the salad we had before were all very good. So, we are happy we ate there. We would go back. However, I think they can do even better on the quality of the steak for the price.
The food was great but the service was sub par. Our server dropped multiple items on the table, cleared plates before everyone was finished, forgot to bring silverware. Server was new to the industry and simultaneously learning English which made for a frustrating dining experience. I would recommend the steelhead and the chili.
Friendly service and atmosphere, with great advice on a wine selection for my wife.
Atmosphere was nice. Wine we selected was very nice. Food quality - especially steak and pork belly accompanying salad - was not to par with other nearby restaurants and menu pricing. Service was good and attentive.
Although there are many other choices in Jackson Hole, we returned to The Silver Dollar Bar and Grill.
We enjoyed our meal and had wonderful service. Thanks
Our last night we stayed in Jackson we decided to dine at the Silver Dollar Grill, it was awesome!!! The evening meal was complimented by the art, decor, and dress of the staff which made our meal even more special. If you want to enjoy a great evening look no further than the Silver Dollar Grill!!!!!!
We had a rather poor experience. Our server launched into asking for our order and not asking if we would like a drink. The bison fillet was well done, but ordered med-rare. And, they didn't offer to show us a dessert menu.
They were clearly understaffed. Multiple errors, medium rare brought to table well done, given wrong check, no bread, no water refills or beverage service. Not what I would expect from this place.
Buffalo was great. Ribeye not so much. Undercooked and too much gristle. Great property with a ton of history.
I wish I could recommend the Silver Dollar Grill to friends. We stay at the Wort Hotel several times per year and never had a problem in the past. We went down to have dinner at the time of opening and was told that we could not be seated because we did not have reservations. We have NEVER had reservations in the past. I then went online and made reservations for 15 minutes later and was then seated. We were told that they were totally booked. If that was the case then I would not have been able to make reservations online. Also as we were sitting there having our dinner the manager Craig was turning people away telling them the same thing. I look around and there was only 4 tables being used. It was clear that they were not booked. We went to the hotel manager Kate and she had so many excuses but none of them made ANY sense to us as to why this was happening. As guests who stay here several times each year I think we may be staying somewhere else in the future. There was no excuse for what was happening and then to be lied to with such excuses was only like a slap in the face of our intelligence. There was no reason for what happened tonight so for that I am very, very disappointed in the Wort Hotel and their restaurant as well as the two managers that we had spoken with.
Great chili really one of the best I have had Overall nice a bit pricey
Had a ribeye steak that was as thin as a pork chop and over cooked. I left half of it on the plate and the server did not say anything. She didn't even ask how our meal was. Love Jackson Hole but would never eat there again.
Skip this one.
I had the Ruby Trout. This is a delicate fish. I came in a heavy crust. I didn't think it needed it. It was good but not great. My husband had the Prime Rib Steak. It was tough. The mashed potatoes were water and the asparagus was woody. This was an expensive meal. Our friends had the pulled pork bugger and they said that was excellent. The waiter was very friendly but not so efficient I think. We had to wait a while for our drinks and one of our desserts did not come.
Service was fast and good. Food was fresh and really good
We were disappointed in 2 of the 3 meals the bison & the prime rib, although did like the steelhead
Great chodur and bison tenderloin. Service was great also.
parking was difficult but it was worth it
