A good meal. I had the crabcakes. I expected that these would be
jumbo lump crab meat, but it was more likely special. They had an okay flavor, but the binding was bread pieces. All in all not bad, just not great. The other person in my party had the shrimp and grits and enjoyed it. The service was excellent. When I am back in Bethesda, I will try Silver again.
The food was okay- the portion was large, but the amount of protein (hanger steak) added to my salad was very limited, even for an $8 upcharge.
Would be nice if the happy hour specials were available at all tables instead of just the bar area!
What started out as a poor experience due to the actions on one server, actually turned out to be a pleasant evening with excellent food and recognition by the manager that more could be done to provide an experience that is worthy of a new restaurant that recently opened. I will certainly return but make sure that I am NOT served by the server who was so rude to us. The restaurant industry is tenuous at best in many neighborhoods and restaurants should be cognizant of the fact that poor performance of employees can leave an immediate and lasting impression. Please don't let a good restaurant model be adversely affected by poor employees!
We really enjoyed our brunch. Our meals were tasty and well prepared , and the menu selections were great. We’ll be back!
Overall good food and excellent service.
The meatloaf and chicken pot pie are excellent.
Our breakfast was amazing! Very friendly server and outstanding service.
We were meeting a friend we had not seen in over 30 years and the staff was very understanding of our extended visit!
Food was good in taste and quantity, liked the different vegetables, but the announced cod (catch of the day) finally was a salmon -- if I had known this, I wouldn't have ordered it. Did not give it back since my friend already had her (different) entree and I did not want to have an asynchronity in eating. The place is nice, but the air-conditioning was so cold that we decided to have desert and a second drink at home. Staff was nice.
It was gud
Lunch-food was good. Glad I got a 1/2 salad.
Price was expensive for lunch
The food was really amazing. The burger was very decadent and the fried chicken Mac and cheese was outstanding. I did feel as though our server made the experience a little impersonal, as he never once asked how our food was or came to check up on us. Overall the restaurant was very good and great food. Will go back!
Consistently good in food, wait staff, cleanliness.
Had a satisfying roasted vegetable salad with added chicken, despite the bruxelles sprouts being seriously undercooked and the red peppers tasting pickled like out of a can. My wife enjoyed the Korean tofu bowl.
This was my third time at Silver in a 10-day period of time. Not only was the food prepared correctly, it was delicious.
Good moderate place to meet and eat. Food came out hot and tasty. No one hurried us as we chatted after eating.
It took about 25 minutes for our waiter to arrive once we sat down, and only after we went back to the hostess stand to ask her to send them our way. They were mildly apologetic for being busy, though only about 1/4 of tables were filled. That said, huevos rancheros was good, as was the edamame hummus.
Silver was a pleasant surprise. I don't recall seeing any positive reviews in the newspaper, but we were impressed. The scallops, fingerling potatoes and garlic spinach was great. The side vegetables were so-so. The crab corn chowder was very good and had a little, not too much, kick. The basil tomato soup was very good even though it had the consistency of a pasta sauce. The miso glazed salmon entree salad was very good. Good enough to make my somewhat particular spouse want to go back again. And the service was great.
The unique and creative menu of offerings was a pleasant departure from "surf, turf or pasta!" Then, the food was fresh and flavorful! Great service from Riley :-))
The service was great, but my dish - chicken picatta, from the healthy section of the menu - was so laden with salt it was effectively inedible. The spinach that came with was half raw, half cooked, and the cauliflower side was fairly bland. My dining companion enjoyed her dish, but since first impressions mean a lot to me in a restaurant, I probably won't be back again.
Overall, the lunch was good. The menu had a lot of good choices and the food our table got was good (chicken picatta, tuna poke bowl and a warm vegetable salad). Sizes were decent which is good for the price.
Our server was a little non existent but he may have been busy. Either way, I probably wouldn't go back for a work lunch again. It takes a little longer than I'd like to be out of the office for during the day.
Interesting and creative dishes. Tasty and attractively prepared. Excellent service.
Enjoyed the overall experience.
Had the special of the day, corvina and it was incredibly dry and tasteless.
Everything was fine except cocktail pricey for being a little 'light'
AS USUAL, GREAT FOOD AT A REASONABLE PRICE; JUST HAD A BAD WAITER THIS TIME!
I've had lots of great meals here but last night was not one of them. Seared ahi tuna had been overcooked and clearly just been taken out of the fridge. Not the quality I have come to expect from Silver.
Had the cauliflower appetizer and the Korean tofu bowl entree. Both were excellent.
Food is good a the menu has enough variety to satisfy different tastes
Silver has an innovative, healthy menu. Our service was terrific. We were not rushed, but it wasn't a busy Saturday lunchtime. Portions are adequate, prices a bit high, but this Silver is in trendy Bethesda.
I made a reservation for 6:30 PM and we were quickly seated. However, a server soon came and we ordered ......and waited over 35 minutes for our dinner! NOT GOOD
The food was well prepared and very good quality.
I'm not sure if I'd go for dinner and race to movie!
Too whole wheat for me; crab cake couldn’t hold a candle to the real thing from Baltimore.
My friend and I decided to try some small plates and split an entree. Our server made sure our small plates came out first and then had the kitchen split the entree into two plates to make it easier. That was a very thoughtful gesture.
Server wasn’t entirely knowledgeable about gluten free. Brought GF Burger out with French fries that were not GF. good experience despite little hiccup.
I went Sunday for dinner with my husband, daughter, and my in-laws. We had made a reservation, which wasn’t needed, and were seated right away. I had the Oaxaca omelette. It was very good. My daughter had chicken pot pie, which came with the crust on the side. A really good idea because she was able to bring half of the huge portion home and have crust that wasn’t soggy.
Their Gluten Free Burger is great! Love that they use local ingredients.
Delicious & fresh! Enjoyed the scallops entree, steak frites & creme brûlée.
We had a fun gathering for Father's Day and thoroughly enjoyed the Tuna and Lamb choices we made. It was relaxing and enjoyable.
Father’s Day celebration. They were able to easily accommodate a party of 8. Service and food was good.
This was my second time at Silver and I was excited to take my friend there since I had liked it a lot the first time, but we came away disappointed. The staff was harried and disorganized, the food was quite flavorless and just okay. My daughter asked if she could substitute meat for house fries and was told there'd be an additional charge (How are potatoes more expensive than meat?!) I wouldn't say it was a terrible experience, but it was definitely a disappointment.
Despite receiving an email confirming that we had an actual reservation for an outdoor table (which we needed, as we had our dog with us), we arrived to be told that the outdoors doesn’t take reservations. A spot big enough to fit us happened to open up right after we arrived, so they accommodated us, which we appreciated, but it was really upsetting to be told (on Father’s Day, when starving) that the email I had that said “reservation confirmed - outdoor seating for 3” otherwise would not have been honored. OpenTable and the restaurant need to work this out.
