Great, as usual. Delicious food. I recommend the Brussel sprouts!
Good food but poor service. Servers and cleanup crew were having their own party. I know it was late...but still
Consistently good. Good food & you can actually sit & talk without straining to hear one another ..... great menu.... staff is always ready to help you.
I am a big fan of the Silver group (Silver and Silver Diner) but there seemed to be fewer vegan options this time compared to previous visits. That was disappointing to me.
Service was very slow but they were so busy, the kitchen must have been backed up.
The eggs Benedict were the worst I’ve ever eaten. The meat was so salty I could not eat it. The sauce had an odd souring taste. It was very expensive. Could’ve had two eggs over easy instead.
Great food as always.
Great service. This was a good date night experience.
We really like Silver and usually go to the wonderful Cathedral Commons location, but the Bethesda location seemed really off its game last Friday evening. First, when asked, they first claimed that happy hour was over at 5:30 pm, even though it doesn’t end until 6:30 pm. Then, later, our order was mixed up, we were served an entree item we didn’t order, and even after we returned it, it was still on our final bill. Our real order took a long time to arrive. They also seemed somewhat flummoxed by our use of a $25 Silver gift certificate, which we had received at Christmas, when we purchased $100 of other gift certificates. My slightly belated birthday family celebration was completely ignored and unacknowledged. We literally had to stand up to try to find our waiters after they disappeared for a long length of time later in the meal. Not sure we’ll rush back to the Bethesda location.
Great consistently great food. The service is also wonderful. We got the warm vegetable salad with Salmon. Yummy!!
We arrived on a very quiet weekday morning. Even though restaurant mostly empty service was slow. Real problem was that my guest was served but waiter forgot or didn’t put in my order and it never came. They did bring after I complained with an apology but no adjustment for awkward tome spent waiting. Very weird. Second time there has been a problem with service. An attentive waiter would have caught issue sooner. Not going back too fast.
I love Silver and I always like to go for nicer occasion when I'm looking for somewhere that I know will be good and straightforward. Excellent meals with options for those with dietary restrictions, a great feel and generally excellent service, and all for a reasonable price. Went for brunch with a friend and, as usual, it was great!
Food was reliably great. Servers were unobtrusive, good humored and attentive.
We love the Silver! Great food, great price, great location!
Service was slow.
Made reservation for Sat am. and the restaurant was full. Arrived with friend and we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I touched the underside of the table as I was being seated and it was sticky. I didn't complain but within moments the manager was there with an apology and wiped the sticky area. He was friendly and i was impressed. I was equally pleased by the rich cultural and racial diversity of the pleasant and polite staff and felt so comfortable and relaxed there. Thank you.
Water and drink orders were taken quickly. The menu is so varied that it was difficult to choose. My friend had an omelet that was served with a great looking scoop of guacamole on top. I settled on the barnyard breakfast with eggs scrambled well. The eggs came browned and I sent them back because well done scrambled eggs cooked firmly and still yellow. The redos were much better and I loved that the hash browns had flavorful onions that were cooked in a balsamic reduction. Yummy. it was a pleasant and tasty experience.
I look forward to returning very soon!
Service was fast and the wait staff very attentive and friendly. The food would be rated higher except the crab cakes were listed in the menu as "jumbo lump" and there was no sign of any jumbo lump pieces in them. I suspect it was not actually jumbo lump, which, is false advertising in my book. That was very disappointing.
Fairly limited menu with slow but polite service in a family atmosphere. With breakfast food throughout the day it is more like a high-end diner than a fancy restaurant, but the portions were adequate and the food was good but not great. The prices were not high nor low. Parking is at a premium. It was just okay.
The food was good, but I felt that it was a bit pricey for a fancy diner environment. I would recommend the location and the food if someone had a generous budget.
We always enjoy our meals at Silver. The staff especially is very knowledgeable and helpful.
We have eaten at Silver n Bethesda many times since it opened, and there was something clearly wrong with the service tonight. First the greeter could not find ourOpen Table reservation, looking under my first name only. He then came to our table, explaining that our server was busy and took our order himself. The wrong food was brought to our table several times , a few times for the table next to us. When one order was delivered, a hamburger, the delivery person left before we could ask for ketchup. We noted that the table next to us had similar experiences. The designated server brought us our check twice! And there did not seem to be a manager present to help with any of these problems.
Please share these comments with Silver’s management.
First of all, warm greetings and personable service received. For our large party of 15 we were all taken care of smoothly and efficiently. The 9 and 11 year olds in our party had a nice Kids menu to choose from. There was never a long wait even when substitutions were requested on a dish already served. The food was good and nicely presented and I loved the smaller-sized entrees which don’t require stuffing oneself to finish. A limited menu but adequate to satisfy all tastes and geared to healthy choices. Desserts were good, especially the 4 berry pie.
Prices are reasonable but everything is ala carte so the bill does add up. We had a lovely waitress who took care of us wonderfully.. (Frehiwot )
Good table, good food, good service.
Had brunch with family and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Silver. Our waiter was terrific! The food was very good. It was a bit noisy, but we could hear one another. Good fun!
My wife and I left the restaurant with a major stomach ache so we immediately went home to spend the rest of our afternoon in the bathroom.
I will never return to that restauranr
We had a reservation for 6:30 and got there 10 min before the reservation time. When we asked if a booth might be available the hostess laughed and said “not at 6:30!”. There was a very large party there that took up almost 1/2 the restaurant including a few empty booths where they put their coats and were very noisy. At about 6:40 we were offered a tiny table next to the host desk and close to the door. We said we wanted a better table. The manager asked us to wait 5 minutes and then got us a booth at the side of the large party gathering. Our server was fine but it was hard to hear her over the noise. The dish I ordered (cauliflower steak) was mediocre (cauliflower was steamed not roasted or grilled) and expensive for a plate of vegetables. Overall not the greatest night.
We got seated 25 minutes late after having a reservation. Otherwise, we had a nice experience with good food.
Great lunch and service! Glad I made a reservation. Table was ready when we arrived.
Christmas gathering of relatives
The waiter brought us the wrong drink. It was more expensive then the drink we ordered. We told the waiter it was wrong. He took it away, but then came back with the right drink and the wrong drink and charged us for the wrong drink that we didn’t want or ordered. He said he did that because it was easy for him, so we paid something we didn’t want or ordered.
Also,it took awhile and several requests to get water and coffee refilled.
Our lunch was at 3pm. There were two other diners. The state of the restaurant was appalling. The empty tables had dirty dishes and the staff was hanging around the bar chatting
The salad was mostly lettuce - not enough chicken or other ingredients.
We were looking for somewhere to go after a concert at the Strathmore. Although I’m not a huge fan of diners, Silver showed off with delicious food and great late night options (the full menu was available). The servers were attentive and made sure we were taken care of.
As always the food was very good, but the service was incredibly slow. Our waitress was nice, but not very attentive. We asked for extra time to choose our order and she didn't come back for 15 minutes. She also took 15 minutes to process our check. It's not really a dining type of restaurant but we ended up dining for a long time.
Went there really early in the morning for breakfast. Great food, very quiet, great service. Will recommend to others.
Food is good and service is good! It is a good place for casual lunch or dinner.
We were a large group of energetic 12 and 13 year olds. The staff was very kind and accommodating. Great for groups!
all excellent, but the lemon tartlet was way too sweet for my taste.
Pleasant restaurant in a nice convenient location. Servers are a bit casual, even for a casual restaurant. But we had good meals in nice surroundings.
Relaxing, casual and quiet. Great place to have a conversation. Beautiful presentation of tasty dinners.
We come back to Silver time and time again because it is reliable and delicious and priced right. Especially if you are conscious of calories they have a delicious low calorie menu.
