Quiet but inviting to be social, I was very happy to take my s/o to Silver for a simple American dinner with fresh twists as Silver says they set out to be. I enjoyed the shareable plates, such as the Chimichurri Chicken Wings and the Naan Bread. My s/o had the Bison Huevos Rancheros, in which she likes even moreso than the same exact dish served at their sister restaurant for being less salty, while I enjoyed the Fried Chicken Mac & Cheese. Later-evening Valentine's Day dinner was not too hectic and the service was excellent! I would come here again any other time!
The food was pretty good, I had a delicious, unique brunch item and the crab and corn soup. My server seemed flustered and a bit inattentive, but otherwise pleasant. Did take a while to get a water refill.
Only if they had a snack before they left the house. Do NOT go hungry. Scallops small and only six - for the price 8 would be satisfactory. Friend left hungry, as she also had an appetizer. Grain bowls, not enough, went home hungry. Overall the food was good, not good enough to go back.
I’ve been wanting to go to a “diner” for a while now. My husband and I went early on Valentines Day at 4:30. There is a nice variety of types of for a wide range of preferences and good options for vegetarians. The food was quite tasty.
Place was empty for a Thursday evening. Service was good. Wide menu choices. Food quality was good tho nothing to rave about, convenient place to meet for a meal.
This was my first time dining at Silver. I was very impressed with what I ordered - it was the Impossible Burger - delicious! And not too many fries given (you helped save me from myself). :) We also had the Apple Beignets for dessert - wow! Light, fluffy, and moist inside. The honey dip was perfect. Will be back!
Overall it’s a great place. Tasty. Waitress was very nice. Just made a couple of errors (not a big deal) otherwise would have given 5 stars
Usually I order a different entree every visit. I'm never disappointed.
Food was great, service was ok.
Was there with my son and his lady love who almost always has a salad. Thus I thought of Silver. Another friend had had three of their salads on prior occasions and raved about each. Today the warm salad was ordered and was delightfully fresh, tasty and full of unique flavors perfectly combined. My son and I each had the Angus burger with bacon. Ordering medium rare it came out juicy and accompanied by lots of crispy fries. Never have to be concerned-guests can always find multiple choices they would love no matter their usual preferences. Enjoy!
Convenient, nice place in the heart of Bethesda. Menu is small, drinks list is large. Nice booths if you want a quiet spot. Have been several times. The food is OK, service is spotty. On my recent trip, it took too long in a mostly empty restaurant on a Monday night to get service when I arrived. Once we had our waitress's attention, service was good. I had a burger that was fine but arrived barely warm. French fries were good, too, but also barely warm. My guest liked their burger.
Family and I enjoyed the Sunday brunch. We were a table of 8 and were lucky to get a table by the back wall where the noise level was good for conversation. In the center of the restaurant, the level was much higher. The server was prompt and helpful. The menu is very eclectic and interesting. The food was provided in a timely manner and everyone felt their dishes were well prepared and tasty.
Will probably go back in the future.
Great Service; Great food. Indeed a fantastic spot for Sunday brunch with the family.
Fun and very good restaurant. Accommodated for gluten free. Excellent food choices.
We enjoyed our food and our server was very attentive. We had a rather large group and felt a little bit crowded being tucked in the back near the servers station. Not the best for large groups (we had 12 people). Despite that, everyone enjoyed their food and I would definitely return - just with a smaller group.
The cheeseburger was delicious! Cooked perfectly to medium rare. Best burger in Bethesda!!
Matthew is a knowledgeable and attentive server. Overall, we had a great experience, and I will certainly return. PLUS, parking in the garage is cheap ($3), so that is a huge plus!
Silver has gone downhill over the past several years. Very noisy, server had no clue, chicken pot pie watery.will not return
Fun place with a diner vibe, but the food is clever and delicious! I am gluten & dairy free and there were great options whether I was here for breakfast or dinner. I am definitely going to be a regular !
We especially enjoyed our free desserts which we earned by showing our movie ticket stubs!
Service can definitely be improved, orders were miss delivered to other tables and took long to get ours. They all came at different times and at the end the food was good but nothing to rave about. Definitely the simpler the dish the better the quality. Specially when it comes to brunch items!
Love the ambiance, but on this Sunday brunch -- our service was slow, I thought the substitution of Bearnaise sauce on Eggs Benedict (for standard Hollandaise) was a little weird. And the Bloody Mary tasted like they'd put vinegar in it instead of vodka!! How can such an upscale place make that many mistakes??
By all means, I heartily recommend this destination to friends... though the noise level is a problem when the restaurant is crowded. I do appreciate the kitchen's increasing compliance with my salt-free low sodium food preparation request upon ordering. Another perk is a bonus dessert or milkshake with your same day Bethesda Row cinema ticket stub.
A good place to meet and very good food. Great for brunches.
Great, as usual. Delicious food. I recommend the Brussel sprouts!
Good food but poor service. Servers and cleanup crew were having their own party. I know it was late...but still
Consistently good. Good food & you can actually sit & talk without straining to hear one another ..... great menu.... staff is always ready to help you.
I am a big fan of the Silver group (Silver and Silver Diner) but there seemed to be fewer vegan options this time compared to previous visits. That was disappointing to me.
The eggs Benedict were the worst I’ve ever eaten. The meat was so salty I could not eat it. The sauce had an odd souring taste. It was very expensive. Could’ve had two eggs over easy instead.
Service was very slow but they were so busy, the kitchen must have been backed up.
Great food as always.
Great service. This was a good date night experience.
We really like Silver and usually go to the wonderful Cathedral Commons location, but the Bethesda location seemed really off its game last Friday evening. First, when asked, they first claimed that happy hour was over at 5:30 pm, even though it doesn’t end until 6:30 pm. Then, later, our order was mixed up, we were served an entree item we didn’t order, and even after we returned it, it was still on our final bill. Our real order took a long time to arrive. They also seemed somewhat flummoxed by our use of a $25 Silver gift certificate, which we had received at Christmas, when we purchased $100 of other gift certificates. My slightly belated birthday family celebration was completely ignored and unacknowledged. We literally had to stand up to try to find our waiters after they disappeared for a long length of time later in the meal. Not sure we’ll rush back to the Bethesda location.
Great consistently great food. The service is also wonderful. We got the warm vegetable salad with Salmon. Yummy!!
We arrived on a very quiet weekday morning. Even though restaurant mostly empty service was slow. Real problem was that my guest was served but waiter forgot or didn’t put in my order and it never came. They did bring after I complained with an apology but no adjustment for awkward tome spent waiting. Very weird. Second time there has been a problem with service. An attentive waiter would have caught issue sooner. Not going back too fast.
I love Silver and I always like to go for nicer occasion when I'm looking for somewhere that I know will be good and straightforward. Excellent meals with options for those with dietary restrictions, a great feel and generally excellent service, and all for a reasonable price. Went for brunch with a friend and, as usual, it was great!
Food was reliably great. Servers were unobtrusive, good humored and attentive.
We love the Silver! Great food, great price, great location!
Service was slow.
Made reservation for Sat am. and the restaurant was full. Arrived with friend and we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I touched the underside of the table as I was being seated and it was sticky. I didn't complain but within moments the manager was there with an apology and wiped the sticky area. He was friendly and i was impressed. I was equally pleased by the rich cultural and racial diversity of the pleasant and polite staff and felt so comfortable and relaxed there. Thank you.
Water and drink orders were taken quickly. The menu is so varied that it was difficult to choose. My friend had an omelet that was served with a great looking scoop of guacamole on top. I settled on the barnyard breakfast with eggs scrambled well. The eggs came browned and I sent them back because well done scrambled eggs cooked firmly and still yellow. The redos were much better and I loved that the hash browns had flavorful onions that were cooked in a balsamic reduction. Yummy. it was a pleasant and tasty experience.
I look forward to returning very soon!
