Silks Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Don't usually write a lot of reviews but our waiter tonight was exceptional. Not a busy night but you could not tell by his attitude. DeAndrew Wallace went way and beyond the norm taking care of us. It was so nice to be taken care of the entire evening by him. If he ever waits on your table you will not be disappointed!
A bit disappointed. We have enjoyed Silks several times in the past. Maybe this was an off night. Service was slow even though the place was not that busy. My steak(bacon wrapped filet) was over cooked and tough.
My wife loved her pork chop and risotto. Waiter brought the bread and butter after the meal wasn’t over.
Hopefully it was just a off night.
We went to Silks and were 50/50 in what we thought of it. Interesting menu, reasonably priced. Decent wine menu. The Mare' Aqua Pazza was truly outstanding, whitefish and risotto was cooked just perfectly, but the lamb was overcooked and fatty; the server never asked how to have it prepared. Service was spotty. A word of caution: the restaurant sits over the casino, and since casinos are one of the last places that people can still smoke (bleah 😡) the restaurant does get wafts of the stench, I mean smoke. We were seated by the window right at the finish line, so we had a great view of the races.
My hubs and I are in our 70's and still have a date day and night at least once a week.. My hubs had the chicken friend steak and mashed potatoes.. he said one of the very best!! I had the Remington Club steak with baked potato. Very good We shared the fruit and cheese board, yummy and I had the Creme Brulee ...my favorite
Had a great time. Food was way better than expected. In fact, it was excellent. I had fetucinni alfredo and it was great and had two complete freshly grilled seasoned chicken breasts. My wife had the best looking salad I have seen in a restaurant in years and we eat out alot including fine restaurants.
I expected typical venue type food. I received excellent, fresh, well prepared and presented food.
People always take time to complain. I wanted to just give a well earned compliment.
We love going to Silks. You get the table for all the races that day so you can leisurely eat and drink and watch the ponies. However, don't order the Cobb salad. The lettuce was old and wilted, and the ham, eggs, cheese, etc. were not up to the traditional Cobb salad. Very disappointing.
Appetizer (Chicken Caprese) was good. Salmon as good. Ribeye was similar to my expectations of a Truck Stop. :-( Everything took a long time to get to the table, got other peoples items presented to us at every turn. Wait staff seemed very disorganized and out of sync. Never was presented an itemized bill and was given excuses rather than apologies for mistakes and shortcomings. This is very sad, because I have had excellent food and service here in the past. I would be hard pressed to say that I would go again.
