White Chocolate and Mango Cheesecake
Crab and Lemongrass Bisque
a savory indian turnover with tamarind sauce
All appetizers, drinks and entrees were fabulous. Service was great.
Amazing drinks/wine/beer list.
Try the Mango Cheesecake.
We went for the Coolinary special. Most places, the coolinary is pretty limited, but the options at Silk Road all looked good. We had the samosas, wings, short ribs, and red curry chicken, plus the cheesecake and bread pudding for dessert. We also opted for the wine paring. The dessert wine was really sweet. All of the food was very tasty and we’ll definitely be back.
It was our first time there . Menu had something for everyone !
Great food, great wine & great service
Went for coolinary menu. Awesome!! Great selection and a real bargain. Server was very good and just love the food!!
We loved the main dishes, Thai red curry and Ginger short ribs. Mango cheese cake was lovely. Friendly and attentive service.
Always enjoy going here. Took some out of town guests and they very much enjoyed the experience. Service was good. A little slower than normal but like all of us they were short staffed. Just glad they are able to be open and do it very safely.
Crab bisque was EVERYTHING! Mango white chipotle cheesecake was LOVE! Braised short ribs were ok. Margarita was eh.
Food was great. Wine selection was not the best.
The food was very good and the value is unbelievable. Great place for lunch or dinner.
My husband and I came in for Coolinary and it did not disappoint. Every course was amazing. We also did the wine paring and loved it. Highly recommend.
Lovely food, quaint decor.
Wonderful meal! I really enjoyed being able to select a bottle of wine from their shelves. Everything was great!
We went for the coolinary menu with wine pairings. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is eccentric and the staff worked together and was very kind. The only downside was the noise level.
We went to Silk Road for the first time for the Coolinary. I don't know why we haven't been here before. It used to be a grocery store when I lived in the Bywater many years ago. Now, it is a very cute, funky restaurant that leans Indian/Asian. At first we were sat in the back room, but indicated that we didn't want to sit back there and preferred the main dining room. They accommodated us as quickly as they were able to and they didn't treat us like troublemakers because of it. They get a big plus for that. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We had the samosas the Korean chicken wings and the crab bisque. All were very good but the crab bisque was killer. We had the salmon, the Thai Red Curry and the Duck Breast and again, they were all great. The salmon and the duck breast were cooked perfectly. On the desserts, the mango cheesecake was not heavy and dense, but light and fluffy...yummm. The service was excellent. It was our first time, but it certainly will not be our last. Loved it!
Had a great meal. The Curry and chicken dishes are outstanding.
Average food served in a bar environment. Based on the website I thought it was going to be a much more interesting combination of flavor bc it is advertised as asian/indian/creole fusion. It was unfortunately quite basic and I wasn't wowed in the least. The food was fine but not memorable and it is not a place I would return to.
I went with my sister on a Saturday night at 7 p.m. for dinner for an Indian meal. We both had cocktails, both delicious and well-balanced. We selected a bottle of wine from the cellar/hallway, and it was opened and served at the table. The ambiance was charming, soft-lit, romantic for those looking for a date venue, and dress-casual. We had live piano entertainment! The saag paneer works well as an appetizer for two and comes with a tortilla for scooping. Delish. I had the BBQ chicken breast which was tender and not over-seasoned. My sister had the red curry and it was delicious. The food is truly a blend of Creole and Indian served with as beautiful a presentation as any Brennan's restaurant. The prices were half that of a "fine dining" establishment but larger portions and just as delicious. Well done! I definitely recommend, and I will definitely be back!
Definitely try the samosas and the white chocolate mango cheesecake!
Amazing food, excellent drinks and great atmosphere.
White chocolate mango dessert is one of the best desserts in NOLA.
Good food. It’s definitely not your traditional Indian cuisine, as advertised it is truly an indo fusion kind of food. Music was loud.
We are repeat customers! Love it! As do our kids! Great food! Great service!
A strange place trying to do too much . Menu too extensive but food reasonably good. Piano player too loud should do just Indian food properly
Authentic diverse attentive & knowledgeable wait staff
The food was very good. Appetizers were large. Price was very reasonable for the amount of food. I would definitely go back.
Will be returning again. Music was peaceful and wonderful. Restaurant Week menu was awesome. Really enjoyed all we ordered. Highly recommend spinach and goat cheese salad and cheesecake.
Got the restaurant week lunc
Crab bisque soup, drum,and
Mango cheesecake. Excellent
We went in for the coolinary menu as our first adventure into Indian food. We enjoyed 90% of what we had and with four in our party we had an opportunity to try several different menu items. The $28 bottle of delicious wine was an added bonus!
Everything was so delicious! The sesame salmon, lemongrass crab soup and white chocolate mango cheesecake were our favorites! There was a slight hiccup with the food but they handled it appropriately and kindly so it did not deter from the meal.
The food was Fantastic. I could eat the bisque all day.
Great meal. Chef very personable and great Indian food and outstanding wine selection. Perfect location.
We're local and this was the first time eating here (thanks to Coolinary). I'm glad we were exposed to another neighborhood gem. The drinks and food were delicious and live piano music made for a wonderful dining experience. We'll definitely be back to try other parts of the menu!
Food was outstanding... Service was a little slow, but there was only one server at the moment. A little disappointed that one item we wanted to order wasn't available because some required equipment hadn't arrived yet. We'll be back to check.
Unique food selections and attentive service. Great value for money
We drove in from Diamondhead Mississippi with expressed.puepose of "dining" at Silk Road. We were quite delighted.
The space itself is all about Food And Drink.
It has hundreds of wines both chilled and not.
I enjoy Dark Beer.
Guineas on Tap with a Nitrogen Head.
And Dixie Voo Doo.
If I lived in the city I would go to the place a5 night as there is Music on most evenings.
The food was great !!! Crab cakes are to die for, it has a hint of green scallions , not too creamy, perfectly fried. The samosas are shaped likes empanadas, but don’t let the flavor fool you :), the sesame encrusted salmon is delicious and seared to perfection
Lastly the vindaloo sauce is home made and has a perfect balance
Best dessert is the mango cheesecake !!!!! Who would have thought the combination of mango and a creamy blend of ingredients would be soooo delicious
We are definitely coming back
Thank you to chef Ganesh !!!!!!
Music is too loud. Unable to have a conversation otherwise wonderful.
We were able to park fairly close. We were greeted and served promptly.
Pros: friendly, not run of the mill, delicious food, great service
Cons: noisy, high top tables, piano player was good but music added to difficulty hearing.
We’d definitely go back.
