Good food. It’s definitely not your traditional Indian cuisine, as advertised it is truly an indo fusion kind of food. Music was loud.
We are repeat customers! Love it! As do our kids! Great food! Great service!
A strange place trying to do too much . Menu too extensive but food reasonably good. Piano player too loud should do just Indian food properly
Authentic diverse attentive & knowledgeable wait staff
The food was very good. Appetizers were large. Price was very reasonable for the amount of food. I would definitely go back.
Will be returning again. Music was peaceful and wonderful. Restaurant Week menu was awesome. Really enjoyed all we ordered. Highly recommend spinach and goat cheese salad and cheesecake.
Got the restaurant week lunc
Crab bisque soup, drum,and
Mango cheesecake. Excellent
We went in for the coolinary menu as our first adventure into Indian food. We enjoyed 90% of what we had and with four in our party we had an opportunity to try several different menu items. The $28 bottle of delicious wine was an added bonus!
Everything was so delicious! The sesame salmon, lemongrass crab soup and white chocolate mango cheesecake were our favorites! There was a slight hiccup with the food but they handled it appropriately and kindly so it did not deter from the meal.
The food was Fantastic. I could eat the bisque all day.
Great meal. Chef very personable and great Indian food and outstanding wine selection. Perfect location.
We're local and this was the first time eating here (thanks to Coolinary). I'm glad we were exposed to another neighborhood gem. The drinks and food were delicious and live piano music made for a wonderful dining experience. We'll definitely be back to try other parts of the menu!
Food was outstanding... Service was a little slow, but there was only one server at the moment. A little disappointed that one item we wanted to order wasn't available because some required equipment hadn't arrived yet. We'll be back to check.
Unique food selections and attentive service. Great value for money
We drove in from Diamondhead Mississippi with expressed.puepose of "dining" at Silk Road. We were quite delighted.
The space itself is all about Food And Drink.
It has hundreds of wines both chilled and not.
I enjoy Dark Beer.
Guineas on Tap with a Nitrogen Head.
And Dixie Voo Doo.
If I lived in the city I would go to the place a5 night as there is Music on most evenings.
The food was great !!! Crab cakes are to die for, it has a hint of green scallions , not too creamy, perfectly fried. The samosas are shaped likes empanadas, but don’t let the flavor fool you :), the sesame encrusted salmon is delicious and seared to perfection
Lastly the vindaloo sauce is home made and has a perfect balance
Best dessert is the mango cheesecake !!!!! Who would have thought the combination of mango and a creamy blend of ingredients would be soooo delicious
We are definitely coming back
Thank you to chef Ganesh !!!!!!
Music is too loud. Unable to have a conversation otherwise wonderful.
We were able to park fairly close. We were greeted and served promptly.
Pros: friendly, not run of the mill, delicious food, great service
Cons: noisy, high top tables, piano player was good but music added to difficulty hearing.
We’d definitely go back.
If you want local this is it! The summer menu Duck Breast is AMAZING... Best in town.
Great food and drinks. Loved the atmosphere. Service was wonderful. When we visit New Orleans again, we will be eating here again.
Everything about our evening at Silk Road was wonderful! The food was amazing, the music was delightful, the staff was helpful and friendly.
This was our first visit to Silk Road and it certainly will not be our last The four of us had a good taste of their broad menu: Chicken Tikka Masala, Jambalaya, smoked chicken breast, and sesame-crusted salmon. All were delicious. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. The prices are most reasonable. All in all a great find!
Fantastic friendly service and super chill neighborhood ambiance
Great food, very nice staff and good music. Love this place and will certainly be back.
I went to this restaurant with four "foodies". They effused accolades for the food-- "many interesting flavors", "every dish delightful", "so many different choices". The service was excellent. The ambience was fine-- typical modern restaurant. Excellent cocktails and wine list. Pavlova dessert was rated "exquisite:"
All five of us thought that the restaurant was outstanding and "an experience to record". The major demerit was that the restaurant was very loud; they have done nothing to dampen the volume.
Silk Road was an incredible dining experience! Delicious food and mixed drinks in a beautiful location in the Marigny neighborhood. Everything was cooked to perfection. 10/10!
Reserved on Open Table, when we arrived we were given a one page sheet that had none of the dishes we had come for. Because of Mardi Gras they weren’t serving there menu and the place was empty. They gave no notice of this.
Always great food, neighborhood atmosphere, and exceptionally friendly staff.
Seated promptly, servers very attentive. Menu options make me want to go back. Food delicious. Lots of veggie and meat options. Enjoyed the music. Great location in the Marigny.
Gathered a group of friends for a small birthday dinner here. I'd heard great things about the food and wanted to give it a try. I, nor any of my friends were disappointed. The food was excellent. Service could've been a little better as far as staffing but other than that, it was a great experience and the staff that did service us were nice. The food more than made up for that. The portions for starters and entrees were generous and pleasing to the eye. Signature cocktails were affordable and well made. I will definitely be dining there again and will recommend to friends.
Not showing any of the “know how” of Saffron-where the cook/chef is supposed to have been prior to Silk Road
Also, bar anemic and mixologist very inexperienced.
Terrible in every way. Would not recommend to anyone.
The food was very good. There was a great variety. I thought the curry was delicious, and the shrimp were very sizeable. The portions were great for the price for dinner. I liked the cocktail menu, too; there were unique drinks. Our complaints would be the waters were not refilled, and my brother's cocktail was too strong and syrupy for his liking.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would go back.
Charming small place with cheerful staff and excellent interpretations of dishes from India Asia
Cool meal here for Coolinary 2018 (New Orleans’ Restaurant Week)! The food was great and fair priced. A bit quiet but nothing wrong with that. Overall a cool ambiance and I’m sure I’ll be back.
A suggestion to dine here came from a tour guide we were on. The food was fantastic. The night we dined at Silk Road there was an 8 piece Irish Band performing. Between the good food, great bar, terrific live music and then putting on the Jets Monday night football - I was in 7th heaven. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We had an amazing dinner with some wonderful music
We thought the food & service was just OK. Had the vegetable platter with lentils, chickpeas and aloo gobi and the chicken vindaloo. The lentils were great, the chickpeas were very good, and the aloo gobi was so-so. The vindaloo was tasty but absolutely nothing like all the other vindaloos I've had before. It was a very sweet sauce with almost no heat to it - some of the vegetables were hotter. I didn't taste garlic or wine or vinegar or any other of the staple bases for the sauce, just sugar and tomato. Overall we were pretty unimpressed, will not be returning.
Food was very good and the drinks was too. Service was a little slow in the beginning but it was because some of the servers were late and the one working was over stretched.
Service was fine overall, if not particularly friendly. But the food was only so-so, Currie’s pretty dry, lacking robust flavors all around.
