Sign of the Whale
It was very loud techno that was blasting which made it hard to talk. We had the crab cakes and it was mostly spaghetti squash with little flavor. It wasn’t the best experience.
The restaurant closed early due to the snow and no one contacted us. We showed up and was told the kitchen closed and we have to go.
If you're under 30 and can tolerate a lot of noise this is the place for you. We were there at Saturday Brunch with unlimited Mimosas so many, many people were there to take advantage. It to louder and louder as our meal went on. Yikes. Food was good - perhaps a little pricey.
We went on Stamford restaurant week and I must say it was an amazing menu. The chef really was thoughtful about what presented even during a discounted week. Was thoroughly surprised at how high a level that food is. Have been quite a few times but never on restaurant week. Chef Walter really put a lot of thought into the plates. Even the desserts were higher level then the norm. Our only complaint was we could not have a conversation without screaming as the music is over-the-top loud but it was a Friday night during happy hour. Known for its fabulous cocktails and party atmosphere, the food should not be overlooked. @DonnaDishes IG foodblogger
We went for Saturday lunch. It wasn’t crowded.
The service was slow. The coffee was cold.
The food was tasty though.
Another very good meal here. Their whale burger is simply one of the best anywhere. We also had the Tuscan farmers hash which was excellent. The quality of food here rivals very good restaurants, hence why we keep coming back!
We came in with a reservation on Friday night at 7:30 which was in the lull between happy hour and the regular evening crowd. We were seated in the back corner and it took a half an hour before a waiter even came to greet us or fill our water glasses. We did the Friday date night which is $65 for two apps, two entrees a dessert and a bottle of wine. The food was absolutely disgusting. I got "grilled" oysters which were luke warm oysters served on a piece of dry ice to look cool. The taste was off and left me wondering if I would be sick the rest of the night. Then got the salmon. The fish itself was somewhat decent but the mussels and white beans around it looked like they'd be sitting out for days and we're actually conjealed . I didn't touch them. My partner ordered the steak which was just ok and the croquettes for an app. The croquettes were good but they actually also came as a side to the steak which wasn't communicated. The only good part of the meal was the wine and the dessert. Atmosphere went from dead to fun when the live music came on. Definitely wouldn't order food here again.
i have a problem with this place almost every time i go new years day promo was very misleading or i just read it wrong.they had very little info on the food and drink. it said $22.00 which i thought was for the brunch but no that was just for bottomless mimosas,we left.
i should have known though any place that charges $19 for a long island iced tea is not a place for me airports don`t even charge that much.
when i`ve had dinner there i enjoyed it the food is good but i can`t have a drink their prices are ridiculous
Went for brunch with some girlfriends this last Sunday - got there at 12noon so place was still mostly empty - didn't expect place to be more of a sports bar, ambience a bit lacking - Our round corner booth was very comfortable. I loved the steak and eggs entree and my friend loved the breakfast pizza. One friend commented that it was hard to eat her English muffin breakfast sandwich bc when picked up half the sandwich it essentially fell apart/all items in sandwich fell out - they need to re-think how they build the sandwich so it stays together. Coffee was strong (which I prefer) and great tasting. Our waitress was on the ball with coffee and water refills.
Loved it ! Had fun , food was very good ! The service was excellent will definetly go back .
Amazingly good food for it essentially being a bar. Their burger on an English muffin was remarkably good and should never be taken off the menu :)
We stopped in for dinner before we headed to our Paint and Sip event, which was in walking distance from the restaurant so we didn’t have to move our car. The waiter was great and we didn’t feel rushed as we had some catching up to do.
Need to try it again when the rooftop is open... Downstairs is OK, a bit dark / cold. The small plates and the cocktails were delicious!
Great restaurant and great food. 1 of my new favorite spots
It is an excellent venue. But it gets extremely noisy past 8:30.
We had a great time! The bartender/ server was amazing. My only issue was the portion size and price. The amount of food that was given was not worth the price. Drinks were great. Very clean and nice environment. I would definitely visit again
We met friends for brunch Sunday around 1pm, and sat in a booth. The noise level from the music was so loud, we had to scream (for 2 hours) just to hear across the table. So, if you want to talk, or just have more of a relaxing atmosphere - this is definitely not for you. Also, this is an under 30 crowd, that's who they cater to, and that's who goes, so if this isn't your thing, find someplace else. The service was slow, and not very friendly. Our order was mostly correct, but not completely. It's no wonder, since the waitress probably couldn't hear us. When a breakfast pizza came out without the egg cooked into it, they brought the same pizza back 5 minutes later (cold) - with pieces of egg thrown on the top - they couldn't be bothered to make it right. If your're 25 and want to be surrounded by 25 year olds who don't care about service, quality, or value, and just want to mingle - great place. Everyone else - not for you.
Food was good. Service was very very slow. Did not honor request to sit outside. Not accommodating or valued our meal.
Food was good but menu is limited. Service was slow and it was not a busy time. Nice atmosphere and good location. Prices were good.
My girlfriend and I met here for drinks and some comfort food. We shared a 40 oz cocktail called the Watermelon Wash. It had a fruity taste and the showing of the drink was phenomal - when he poured it in the cup at the table smoke rose creating a one of a kind experience. The area is nicely located and the staff is incredibly friendly. We will definitely be returning.
REALLY FUN ROOFTOP SPOT. GOOD FOOD. GOOD VIBE. HIGH ENERGY.
Ok food and service. Nice location
Waitress brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert or after dinner drinks. Rooftop nice nut sun pointing in some members of out parties eyes. The umbrellas they put up didn’t help. Can’t see the water with all the construction. View and sun not the restaurants fault. Will try again but not for a corporate dinner.
This place is awful. The food is horrible and the service was even worse. Only thing redeeming about it is that cocktail menu. My margarita was delicious.
Food and service was okay, but I could have done without the loud dance music at brunch. Didn't really fit the time of day. Plus the noise level made conversation difficult.
Food was very good but pricey for what they served. Did not come come with a salad nor was bread served.
Had a very nice time with 2 other couples. Seems like a very young crowd. Music a little too loud. We asked if they could lower it and they did. Food matched well with price.
Best roof top bar in the Stamford area. Great cocktail menu. Food just ok but you can not beat the view firm the roof. You must check it out this summer. Enjoy!
The food was great, but the menu and the atmosphere have some disconnect. Seems it's hard to decide if it is a sports bar, or an eclectic eatery, We were seated near the entry and a large crowd that came in to be seated were left crowding our table. That was very disappointing. Service was not great at all. Would likely not go back on a weekend evening. Maybe lunch just for the good food, but only if I was in the area. Would not make plans to go there again.
All the food was great! Host and waiters are slow and inattentive!
Took my Dad there for Father's Day brunch. He's 83, and Mom's 82, and I was afraid it would be too loud, but it was great! Delicious food with something for everyone on the menu, great prices, and lots of space. Upbeat vibe.
Food was of good quality, especially the small plates, but service was inconsistent and on weekends you better be done with your meal by 9:30pm, because the place turns into a night club.
It was a perfect evening. Thanks :)
Our server Tyler was awesome! He made the experience much more worth it.
A really fun pace to chill indoors or outdoors on the rooftop. The menu is delicious and well priced. The drinks are fun and plentiful. Tons of TVs to watch sports on a game night. Cool ambiance lighting and DJ later in the evenings. Parking was easily accessible and FREE. Waitstaff is courteous and accommodating.
Great food and service. Just wish the Moscow Mule would be served in a copper mug.
Went with friends for dinner to check out a new place on Stamford Waterfront. A happening area with lots of people and a nice rooftop bar. Huge tables will accommodate large groups--the booths can seat 6-8 people. The lively loud bar-scene crowd makes dinner conversation a bit harder- but also adds to the vibe of a fun place. The Food was very tasty with a nice, sophisticated presentation. The chowder soup tasted like a fine lobster bisque- highly recommend. Scallops were perfectly cooked and the appetizer size (2 really large were served with broccoli (instead of green beans) were perfect! Thks to the chef for the change!) Seafood paella was spot on as well. Really tasty---(one rec: add a bit more rice!)
Overall, we will be back and recommend others try it as well.
Order took a long time I was ok with that it was St.Pattys weekend so it was a little busy or short staffed .Food was not all that great fries cold burger wasn't worth the price mac&cheese ok but the Brussels sprouts tasted burnt don't think we will be going back in the future
