Great food and service. Had enchiladas and they were awesome
Great food and service!
Amazing food and service
Wonderful food, and great service. It was mother’s day, but we had a reservation. It didn’t feel crowded and we didn’t feel rushed.
Great first time experience! Waiter was very attenitive. Will go agsin.
One of my favorite Southwestern restaurants. Great margaritas and unique takes on traditional recipes. The jalepeno appetizer stuffed with 4 cheeses and grilled are fantastic.
We always enjoy Sierra Bonita and Aron, our server did a beautiful job pacing our meal and making sure we were satisfied. We started with the guacamole and chips. I could make a meal of this....it's wonderful. My husband had the salmon which was the catch of the day. The serving was definitely man sized and he enjoyed it. I ordered the southwest cobb and it was good. We'll be back.
Not enough value
Easter Brunch was great
Moving out of town, and wanted a memorable place to say goodbye to good friends. Food was superb, noise level allowed effortless conversation. We had the carne asada and the pork loin, both excellent.
My wife and I were on a weekend get away to Phoenix. We made Friday night dinner reservations at Sierra Bonita Grill. We arrived and were greeted by the hostess, who showed us to our table. Our server, #88, came over, introduced himself and took our drink order. He returned with our drinks and water. He proceeded to take our meal order which came out very quickly. During the meal, our server inquired as to how everything was going. As we finished our meal, I started to look for him. After waiting 17 minutes, I asked the bartender who was now clearing and covering tables if she would get us our check. When she returned, I asked her where our server had gone. She said, "he left, he had a long shift and went home". No coffee, no desert and no tip. I paid the bill and we left. We went to this restaurant at the recommendation of Your AAA Magazine, Jan/Feb 2019 issue by Molly Clark, Your Travel, CityScape: Phoenix. Not a way to run a restaurant, when a server just leaves and makes his tables look sit and wait.
More than likely, we will not return.
Maybe it was due to the fact that we visited on a Sunday evening, our first steak was sent back, because it was over-cooked, dry and lacked flavor. We changed to the sirloin, it was mediocre, at best. Typically, a manager would visit the table in a situation like this. The waiter stated that he spoke with the manager, and they would be so kind as to serve us a replacement...what? Of course!
The wine had floating spots that looked like oil slicks. I wish I could attach the pic. They charge $2.50 to split a $16 wedge salad for you.
We ate our side dish, while we waited for our entree (the replacement steak) absolutely no discount, offer for dessert, and hardly any concern shown by staff.
I waited for my waiter to pick up my payment after the check was dropped, I finally went to the bartender to pay. I asked the bartender if I could speak with the manager, and was informed that he had left an hour prior. I'm not quite sure if he was actually there, at all.
Too bad, this place was highly recommended by a friend...some friend! Lol, just kidding.
New menu lacks some of old favorites like fish tacos and beef stew
We ordered a bottle of wine when we sat down and it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to come back and tell us they were out of the wine we wanted. He came back with two recommendations of which I asked to taste, the one I wanted they did not have. 30 minutes into our meal we got a bottle of wine. When we finally ordered or dinner we had to ask about the specials, 5 minutes after we ordered the waiter came back to tell us that they were out of one of the specials. To top it off, when we got the outrageous bill, we discovered that they charged us for the bottle of wine that we never got.
Wow. Worst $200 meal ever experienced, we will not be going back. EVER.
Lovely atmosphere and consistently good with something for everyone on the menu.
Everything was fine, but disappointed that the menu had changed.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Phoenix. Relaxing and yet great food!
Lovely, cozy restaurant. The food is excellent as is the service.
Cozy place with a lot of AZ history on walls. Friendly, watchful service with a smile. Fresh snapper was moist, flavorful on a bed of perfectly sautéed green beans, peppers and baby spinach. Shredded beef and sautéed onions filled a crunchy bun, served with skinny fries. The guacamole appetizer was served with three rustic salsas. Food was delicious and fresh. Very Good.
This was one of our favorite restaurants but it has lost its edge. The wait staff were polite but totally uninvolved. The food was good but the menu is limited. We won’t hurry back.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Phoenix. I love to bring friends and family here to enjoy everything about it! Thankful it is located in Central Phoenix!
Normally excellent service. Made reservations, arrived on time. Had no tables. Said we could sit at table behind hostess. Slow service. Unfortunately had to listen to the hostesses chat about personal info during dinner. Waiter forgot to place appetizer order. Both burgers came out burnt. Lots of misses.
Ate out 4 nights in a row and this was my favorite ...outstanding pork chop and scalloped potatoes ...traffic at prime time was not good but worth enduring ...seemed to be a lot of locals there who knew where to go...Brussels sprout salad needed some kind of dressing but still 4/5 per better half
I can definitely see why they have a limit of two on the margarita chingon they are insanely delicious, with a bite that sneaks up on you. We started with the Queso Fundido which was great. The hands down best pork roast I’ve ever had is their red or green Chile. The trick is to get a mix of the two. It is simply amazing!!! The right blend of savory and spicy that makes this place my hands down favorite-spot this visit.
First visit... loved it.
I would recommend Sierra Bonita but I have to say that I didn't feel like there was value this time. I think I really only like sitting at the bar. The rest of the restaurant is a little underwhelming. So that's my recommendation - only sit at the bar. Absent that, it's missable. Sorry to say that because I do love the restaurant.
Took a friend there for lunch today and we did the street tacos off of the specials menu. Wonderful as usual. I think he will be stoping an again when he is back on my side of the valley.
Great restaurant! The food was really flavorful and was a great mix of Mexican flavor with steak and seafood.
Great server but disatointing food for the high price.
The service was great and the setting was nice. It was a bit pricier than I would have thought for the food selection, and the amount of food you get. Overall it was pretty good and we would probably come back if in the neighborhood.
This is my kind of restaurant. Cozy surroundings, a crowd buzz, excellent food, great service. The bacon wrapped shrimp were yummy, and my carne asada was cooked to perfection. Along with the shrimp we had a cup of azteca soup, a sierra bonita salad, my carne asada, chocolate torte for desert, one margarita and one 9 oz glass of wine. Total was $106, including tax but without tip. Without the booze it would have been $80 plus tax. I think that was a good value for such an excellent meal.
Definitely would return!
Always solid. Minor inconvenience due to a large party downstairs. Service 70% of normal —- unusual. Food excellent. Martinis about the best imaginable.
Not a place I would return too or recommend...at one time it might have been ... but not is sandwiched in between a bank , alley with homeless, fast food & low income housing.. menu limited for lunch and what they had pricey.. I tried a small soup , so spicey.. I could not touch.. salsa was green! And I can still taste it... not pleasant... with a the great restaurants in Phoenix & Scottsdale this is not one of them... but that is just my opinion...
We are from out of town and this was our last night out in Phoenix. Entrees came out almost excessively quick. Food was well prepared and savory. Service was attentive. However overall impression was of a “routine” neighborhood restaurant, not a destination which we had hoped to find.
I love this restaurant, charming, cozy, great food.
We had dinner on a weeknight at 6:30. The restaurant was busy but not too loud. We were seated in a cozy room with fireplace and 4 top tables. Loved the green chili mashed with buttermilk chicken. Server made good suggestion for a glass of red wine. Highly recommend.
Not in favor of the new limited higher priced menu.
I was so excited to dine here because I read great reviews. What a letdown! Pre-made guac, chicken that was probably cooked before I even ordered it. The service was a little TOO fast at what was supposed to be a nice restaurant. This made me think corners are being cut. The prices here were outrageous too. The online menu did not reflect reality. For dinner, you are stuck ordering expensive entrees that simply aren’t worth it. On the bright side, the atmosphere was nice. Want good food? Dine elsewhere! We won’t be going back.
Absolutely the best prime rib in town!
