About Sierra Bonita Grill
The Sierra Bonita Grill is named after the historic Sierra Bonita Ranch in South Eastern Arizona. Founded by Henry Hooker in 1872, the Sierra Bonita Ranch was known for it’s hospitality and innovative ranching methods. We would like to celebrate the spirit represented by Mr. Hooker and other pioneer ranches throughout Arizona with our restaurant and hope to continue the tradition of great food and hospitality. Our menu reflects the hearty cooking style of Southern Arizona ranches, many of which were started by Spanish and Mexican families. We will continue to explore the ongoing Mexican and Latin influences on this area’s culture and food. Patio seating available to accommodate 30 people.

Sierra Bonita Grill Ratings and Reviews
Sierra Bonita never disappoints. Today's visit was for lunch. We all enjoyed their cobb salad with carnie asada. It was flavorful and the sherry vinaigrette was delicious. They have several beers on tap including a wonderful selection of changing seasonal choices. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We all enjoyed a relaxing and very tasty lunch.
excellent food, well prepared. have been patron for many years and food is consistently good. had posole and Azteca soup, cobb salad, and carne asada -- all delicious. we always have the bread pudding; in my experience the best in the valley. service was efficient and pleasant.
It was good. I told them prior and at the restaurant that it was my friend's birthday. She had never been there and is a food critic from a different state. Nobody said a word about her birthday. I was surprised. Our bill was 57 dollars and I tip well so we aren't the usually lady lunchers who don't tip.
This was my second time dining at the Sierra Bonita Grill. We were a table of four. As with our previous experience, the food was fantastic.
However, the service was utterly inattentive. It was a huge letdown for the evening. The server was polite, as were the hostesses and the expediter that delivered the food to our table. What was unacceptable was the fact that a dining room server was not stationed in the room and focused on the immediate needs of the various tables. We enjoyed good conversation between us at the dining table, but three of the four diners at my table commented on"being forgotten" by the server.
Hopefully the restaurant management will take this to heart and realize that exceptional food paired with substandard service does not make for a dining experience that will bring customers back.
The food was very good, the server very friendly and the ambience light and pleasant. We met friends we had not seen in a long time so were there for several hours. Even though we had stopped purchasing items, the server did not harass us about leaving or make us feel uncomfortable. (The restaurant was not overly crowded when we were there.) Good experience!
we've been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the food...however this last time the food was NOT that good - a couple of our dishes were overcooked and our shrimp wrapped in bacon appetizer was very DRY. ALSO our services was mediocre at best..we started out with a young man as our waiter - he was nice and very attentive. In the middle of our dinner, we got a new waitress...SHE was not very customer service oriented...she appeared to be bothered by the fact she had to wait on us...but as we got closer to bill time..she got nice (hmmm tip related) disappointed with our visit...especially since we had a couple with us that we wanted to introduce to the restaurant that we raved about and then it ended up being disappointing.
this was my first visit to Sierra Bonita Grill; we will certainly be back!! We loved everything from the ambiance to the food!! Service was Fantastic and the location was not far from home! I think we have found our new "go- to" restaurant!! Thanks Sierra Bonita Grill!!
We chose Sierra Bonita for Happy Hour.
We were greeted immediately and had a nice seat at the bar. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Their wine list is simple but has several nice selections and the mixed drinks lean towards the classics.
Most the of happy hour specials have a southwest flavor with good spice. The guacamole comes with three different salsas to enhance the flavor profiles.
Their street tacos have good flavor but were very dry. The hotdog special is very good and loaded with bacon, onions, beans and salsa. A definite house specialty.
We visited the Sierra Bonita Grill for our last meal of our honeymoon to Phoenix..I hadn't tasted really good food the whole trip, so I Googled the best food in town, and this came up on the list! I'm so happy we were able to try this restaurant and even meet the Owner, Nate! He gave us a tour of the restaurant and the Wine Cellar in the lower level which felt really exclusive! He seems to care a lot about his food, restaurant and employees! We felt right at home. The food was amazing, and fast..drinks were delicious and we could talk without too much noise! We've already bragged to everyone at home---YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE!
Sierra Bonita never disappoints and consistently has delicious and unique food, great atmosphere and terrific friendly service. We have taken friends there several times, had nice quiet meals with just the two of us, and even had a group of 12 co-workers. Every time was a treat! This has quickly become our favorite "go-to" restaurant when people are visiting from out of town. The menu items are always delicious with a special quality that gets raves from our guests. And their Margueritas and ceviche are awesome!
We recently took a random weekend get away to Phoenix and found a nice local place, Sierra Bonita. The restaurant was not busy at the 8:30pm hour, which was unexpected based on the reviews. I was a little concerned as the host was also our waiter that night, but once the food arrived, I found the previous reviews to be "on the money." The Buttermilk Chicken and Pork Tenderloin were both amazing. They were served promptly and the seasonings and the sides were paired well. We had great dinner date!
My husband and I have been coming here occasionally for a couple of years now, and have always found the menu selection to be very attractive. The service is not pretentious, but is attentive. I don't feel like I'm being rushed to move on the next course. We were there with a group of friends and everything was spot on. The short ribs were amazing!
Great traditional authentic Mexican cuisine! Not the greasy, cheesy food you get from some Mexican restaurant! We did not get served the chips and salsa that most Mexican restaurants bring you, but the quality and flavor of the food more than made up for that service! The service was right on! Will go back!
Food is great, though I'm not a fan of their chocolate 'souffle' dessert (too gooey to be a true souffle, strawberry sauce doesn't work, vanilla ice cream is a boring choice). The pozole is so good I want to lick the bowl. Sangria is the best! Carne asada, cowboy stew, salmon, all excellent. My only real gripe is that the place can get pretty loud, and the last couple times I've been there I've taken my elderly parents. They like the food choices and flavors, but if we don't get a table/booth at the end near the kitchen, we can't have a conversation.
Sierra Bonita is a nice neighborhood restaurant with a daily happy hour and daily specials. Today we stopped by to relax after a particularly stressful day. The parking lot was full as there was a large party enjoying the basement banquet room but their complimentary valet parking made sure we did not wait. I ordered the Miguel Mule and my wife had a glass of their house Sangria, both were very good. We started off with a shared appetizer of melted cheese with chorizo spread on top eaten with corn chips. Then she had a second appetizer of pork belly on fresh polenta. The pork was think and tender and the polenta delightfully sweet with a spicy BBQ sauce surrounding it. Their fish taco comes with choice of fish, I had the halibut. It was cooked to order, medium rare and very good with a salsa verde what was spicy and savory. It is not fine dining, but it is very friendly and never boring.
