Great spot for a date night or special occasion. Food is on the pricey side, but worth the cost of the meal. The Green Chilie Mac and Cheese is absolutely a must try!
We went this week 10/9/2019.
Service was extremely poor. Took 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. The hostess was the only one that recognized someone hadn’t been to our table. The food was sub par. I ordered the Sierra salad and bacon wrapped shrimp. The bacon on the shrimp was so over cooked you didn’t even taste the shrimp, it was dark dark brown. Would not recommend. Also the website menu does not reflect the menu at the restaurant. They changed it on monday.
Great food and service. I love eating at Sierra Bonita because of their menu choices.
Returned for the same Stellar food - everything, and same Stellar Service with Stacy.
Stacy was great. The food was awesome as always. A perfect date night !
Wow - Awesome first time experience. The food was incredible (and fast), as was the reception and service (Stacy). 10 out of 10.
Retirement dinner for girlfriend.
Love Sierra Bonita? But really miss the expresso rubbed pork tenderloin.
Brunch | best biscuits and gravy in town; good mimosas; Stacy provides excellent service!
Always a great place for a any Occasion, excellent service, food, price value and atmosphere.
Excellent dinner that impressed our out of town guests!
Ceviche was wonderful and steak was really nice. Service was great too.
I love the food here, though I’m still disappointed about the menu changes that reduced the choices. There used to be so many great choices of ‘regular’ items with a Southwestern flair and now the center of the menu is devoted to big meat. I don’t typically want a major-meat choice, which limits my options. I end up getting the same thing every time, which is a favorite (carne asada), but that doesn’t make it as interesting to go here. My husband got steak as a fall-back choice, but that wasn’t really what he wanted, either. Our adult son ordered off the kid’s menu. We will definitely go back, but not often. It’s great for a single visit.
The food and service was outstanding. A bit pricey but not too bad. Only disappointment was that the booth seating was practically worn through, needed to be replaced years ago
Everything we ordered tasted great, service was super. But, it was too noisy to be enjoyable and the limited menu was disappointing.
Would be better not to come at the dinner rush. Staff was overwhelmed. Had to wait 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the table. Then another 5 to get water, and 10 more for a cocktail. They sandwiched us between two large parties. So the noise level was overwhelming. You literally had to yell to be heard by the person right across the table from you. The food on the other hand was incredible. Hoppers Poppers still the BEST! The bacon wrapped shrimp perfect. The Mrs. had the Grouper special. To die for. I had the NY. Cooked perfectly, and great flavor.
I’m am impressed with how consistently good this restaurant is.
Love the mix of food here. A twist on a traditional dishes. Cerviche was also good. Margarita was eh.
We got to the restaurant and it was CLOSED. No sign, nothing. Only regular hours so they should have been open.
We were on vacation so had to scramble to find something else. SHAME on ALL of you
The margaritas are great! The food very good although can be pricey. Fabric on seats in booth was wearing out and the wood on the table was chipped off. An update to some of the interior is needed especially with the prices.
Never a bad meal.
Delicious. Friendly. A lovely place to unwind with good food, good service and a great bar.
It was not good. Food was way overpriced. I did not enjoy it nor would I refer/return.
This wonderful dining establishment never disappoints. Great food, outstanding Southwest atmosphere and exceedingly friendly employees. Stacy was our waiter during our last visit and he was simply wonderful.
If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate evening and looking for uniquely prepared southwestern cuisine, check out Sierra Bonita.
Great restaurant, great owner, great food. Highly recommend
This establishment is so very consistent with delicious entrees and excellent service Has become a staple of ours to dine weekly and invite out of town guests due to the menus which has yet to disappoint.
Great food and service. Had enchiladas and they were awesome
Great food and service!
Amazing food and service
Wonderful food, and great service. It was mother’s day, but we had a reservation. It didn’t feel crowded and we didn’t feel rushed.
Great first time experience! Waiter was very attenitive. Will go agsin.
One of my favorite Southwestern restaurants. Great margaritas and unique takes on traditional recipes. The jalepeno appetizer stuffed with 4 cheeses and grilled are fantastic.
We always enjoy Sierra Bonita and Aron, our server did a beautiful job pacing our meal and making sure we were satisfied. We started with the guacamole and chips. I could make a meal of this....it's wonderful. My husband had the salmon which was the catch of the day. The serving was definitely man sized and he enjoyed it. I ordered the southwest cobb and it was good. We'll be back.
Not enough value
Easter Brunch was great
Moving out of town, and wanted a memorable place to say goodbye to good friends. Food was superb, noise level allowed effortless conversation. We had the carne asada and the pork loin, both excellent.
My wife and I were on a weekend get away to Phoenix. We made Friday night dinner reservations at Sierra Bonita Grill. We arrived and were greeted by the hostess, who showed us to our table. Our server, #88, came over, introduced himself and took our drink order. He returned with our drinks and water. He proceeded to take our meal order which came out very quickly. During the meal, our server inquired as to how everything was going. As we finished our meal, I started to look for him. After waiting 17 minutes, I asked the bartender who was now clearing and covering tables if she would get us our check. When she returned, I asked her where our server had gone. She said, "he left, he had a long shift and went home". No coffee, no desert and no tip. I paid the bill and we left. We went to this restaurant at the recommendation of Your AAA Magazine, Jan/Feb 2019 issue by Molly Clark, Your Travel, CityScape: Phoenix. Not a way to run a restaurant, when a server just leaves and makes his tables look sit and wait.
More than likely, we will not return.
Maybe it was due to the fact that we visited on a Sunday evening, our first steak was sent back, because it was over-cooked, dry and lacked flavor. We changed to the sirloin, it was mediocre, at best. Typically, a manager would visit the table in a situation like this. The waiter stated that he spoke with the manager, and they would be so kind as to serve us a replacement...what? Of course!
The wine had floating spots that looked like oil slicks. I wish I could attach the pic. They charge $2.50 to split a $16 wedge salad for you.
We ate our side dish, while we waited for our entree (the replacement steak) absolutely no discount, offer for dessert, and hardly any concern shown by staff.
I waited for my waiter to pick up my payment after the check was dropped, I finally went to the bartender to pay. I asked the bartender if I could speak with the manager, and was informed that he had left an hour prior. I'm not quite sure if he was actually there, at all.
Too bad, this place was highly recommended by a friend...some friend! Lol, just kidding.
New menu lacks some of old favorites like fish tacos and beef stew
