Good menu flatbread app great and entrees. Our server was great, however the bar was a bit slow.
Our meals were absolutely wonderful. The food is very well prepared and the menu changes so it is worth going back. The restaurant was a bit noisier than usual because it was St. Patrick's Day, so we won't complain. The only negative was that every time someone entered or left the restaurant, the door is directly in the seating area and you get a blast of cold air.
Really great spot for a quick Italian meal . The pasta is really good
The scallops were amazing as well as the their staple menu item the meatballs. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Very nice experience.
I'm an out-of-towner and this was my first experience at Sienna on the Square. I come to Pittsburgh a couple times a year, and one thing or another had prevented me from trying the restaurant, though I'd noted a recent high rating from at least one local food critic. I was NOT disappointed.
I dined with two friends and our food -- risotto, kale salad, maflade bolognese, white bean soup -- was uniformly excellent and earned its just-right price. The atmosphere was warm and inviting; the service was friendly and attentive, without being obsequious; and the noise level was moderate, despite a largely packed restaurant at 7:30 on a Friday night.
Bravo Sienna on the Square! You provided the kind of Italian food experience one would hope to find in such an Italian-influenced city. You will be my first dinner choice on my next visit to Pittsburgh.
Wonderful food, original recipes, great take on Italian
Service was slow, delivered wrong items, incorrect information about menu, food was fair, not great
It was busy and we were a bit concerned about the time it took to place our order. We were dining before a show. But the host helped our waitress and sped the meal along so it worked out ok. The food was unique and very good. The chopped salad was excellent. As other have commented before there is a uncomfortably cold draft when the door is opened.
Always look forward to enjoying this restaurant after the shows. Great food and great service. Really nice when the doors are open in the summer. Recommend it to family and friends all the time. No one is disappointed! You have to try the meatballs!
What a pleasant experience.... service was great.... and our server asked if we were on a timeline so it was nice that they are cognizant of your schedule.... food was excellent.
Chicken took 25 mins to cook fresh (that’s ok if food turns out great) but then was rubbery and under seasoned. Halibut was fresh and tasty. Even though we had reservations they tried to stick us at high top in the bar vs regular table. Server was nice.
Sienna has become one of the restaurants we come back to often. The service is always amazing, the entire staff works as one team so if your server is busy someone else will step in and help. I'm not sure if that's official policy but that's how it seems to happen. No surly staff ever at Sienna! The menu changes often but some standards seem to remain, so it's always interesting. My wife and I especially love it in the winter because the restaurant seems so warm and cozy. Give Sienna a try !
Nice time and meal
Dinner prior to a show at the Benedum. Food was excellent and my friend, who had never fined there before, enjoyed her meal.
Food quality was very good. Perfect pasta. John the waiter/bartender was amazing.
The food was terrific! It’s our new place for pre-concert dining
Best white bean soup I've every had! Dining room is a little tight.
Celebrating our friend’s retirement, we had a lovely, delicious meal and a relaxed environment where we could visit comfortably without feeling rushed. Hannah our server was helpful and so very sweet and genuine. Thank you!
Chopped salad was awesome. Shrimp and polenta very good , should be an entre
Great meatballs...just wish they were stuffed with even more mozzarella! Bucatini is always a good choice...sauce is delicious.
A perfect dinner in a charming and stylish cozy spot on a cold snowy evening! The wine list was very interesting, with delicious selections. Pastas were fresh and somehow light and filling at the same time. Wonderfully flavored sauces. We were treated warmly by our sweet and attentive server as well as the GM who stopped by our table at least twice to check whether everything was to our satisfaction. It felt like visiting good friends. Sienna on the Square is a gem!
Great location, food, and environment. Selected meals had great portions and kudos to our waitress for the suggestions offered. This location is definitely worthy of repeat visits.
Just an overall great night!
Excellent food. Great service. Highly recommend.
I love everything about this restaurant! The ambience is cozy and warm and perfect for an intimate or friendly gathering. The menu is interesting and the food is deliciously prepared. I will go back!
This restaurant is wonderful. Great Italian food. Good wine. They change up the menu and it is all so good. This is one of my 'go to's' when I travel to Pittsburgh for business. I highly recommend it.
From the minute we arrived the welcoming atmosphere was apparent. Our server, Sage, was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. She had a vast knowledge of the menu and made suggestions to help us choose our meals. The hangar steak was delicious as well as the short ribs. Try the meatballs , they will not disappoint. Our cocktails were made to perfection. Kudos to the entire staff at Sienna on the Square for making a memorable dining experience for our family. It’s been a long time since a general manager carried on a conversation with my family while dining. Skylar is a top notch manager who is passionate about his restaurant. I highly recommend Sienna on the Square.
Loved the shrimp and halibut! Enjoyed my every bite!
Food was excellent (Haddock), service friendly and everyone was very attentive. Great atmosphere, not stuffy, very relaxed but upscale-ish. Would recommend and will visit again!
You will not be disappointed. Try the meatballs. Excellent, attentive service. Delicious food. Quaint place to dine.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, wine and service. Will definately go back again!
Eaten here several times. Food and service is ALWAYS good and consistent. Authentic but creative Italian food.
We were celebrating my friend's birthday and this was both of our first times dining at Sienna on the Square. Amanda was our server and she was fantastic throughout the whole dining experience....from recommending drinks or wine to food options. We decided to share everything and maybe over ordered but our food was coursed appropriately allowing us to take our time. Other employees were at our table dropping off food and refilling or dropping of new drinks and we had excellent service by everyone involved. Thank you all for a great night! We will most definitely be returning to try more things.
Sienna on the Square has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. The food is incredible, and the atmosphere and location are great. I had the spaghetti, and it was unlike any other spaghetti dish I'd ever had - very creative and authentic. I was just there this past Saturday, and I already want to come back.
Great Lunch during Pittsburgh’s 2018 Winter Restaurant Week! Good Food, Good Atmosphere, Good Time!
Had the house chopped salad which was perfectly chopped and mixed for lunch entree had open-faced tuna sandwich with tasty toppings An inexpensive lunch during Pittsburgh Restaurant Week. Glad they participated which was my incentive to visit there for first time.
Delicious food. Great service . Would go again!!
I was looking forward to dining at Sienna for the evening. My experience was met with great food. The staff was very helpful by suggesting dishes which we enjoyed. Looking forward to our next date.
Great but they do not offer butter at the table for your bread. We got turned down. Wtf.
Very disappointing experience. We dined on a Thursday night. Although we were the second table seated in the restaurant and told the waitress that we were going to the theater, it took almost 75 minutes for our basic pasta entrees to arrive. When the food came most of it was cold and overcooked. The restaurant was only 1/3 full this evening. Service was also poor. There are many other excellent restaurants in this area of downtown Pittsburgh, So we will go elsewhere in the future.
