Siena – The Meritage Resort Ratings and Reviews
We went with my sister and her husband for a weekend getaway to The Meritage Resort and Spa and had during dinner and breakfast at Siena during our stay. We all loved our delicious dinners and received wonderful service! We had the same experience for the 2 breakfasts we ate at Siena as well! The entire staff from the hostess to the servers to the other staff members who were setting up the buffet that we looked at were friendly and helpful with our questions when we were trying decide between ordering off the menu vs. the buffet. We would definitely go back to Siena for a meal!
ENJOYED SIENA AT THE MERITAGE HOTEL OVER THE WEEKEND WITH MY GIRLFRIENDS. WE WENT FOR BREAKFAST AND THE HUEVOS RANCHOS IS DYNAMITE; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. OTHER MEMBERS OF OUR PARTY HAD THE SALMON PLATTER WITH A BAGEL. IT WAS ALSO LOVED! STAFF IS ATTENTIVE AND QUICK WITH COFFEE REFILLS
Sat 10 minutes before 8 pm reservation. After waiting 25 minutes, got up to let the manager know that no one had even brought us water much less talked to us. The manager promptly brought a server to our table and apologized and said he would discount our dinner 30%. The discount was never applied. Appetizers came 10 minutes before we received our drinks and our server checked on us once well after we were done eating. Didn’t ask if we wanted dessert, just dropped the check without even bothering to clear our plates that had been sitting empty for 20 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, so it was even more disappointing that the service was so terrible. Food was good, but would never recommend this restaurant based on the poor experience we had.
We had high hopes for this restaurant on Christmas dinner. But, alas, we were sorely disappointed. The reservation was fine, but we were seated in back, in a dark corner. It was hard to read the menu. Our server was new on the job and couldn't answer basic questions about the menu. We ordered small plates-caesar salad and pumpkin risotto. The salad portion was small with almost no dressing. The pumpkin risotto didn't taste like pumpkin at all. Very bland. I ordered the prime rib and my husband ordered the pork chop. It took 45 minutes for our dinner to be served but they brought us the wrong items-lamb chops and super rare prime rib. When they brought the correct items the pork chop was cold and my prime rib (also cold) was swimming in a SUPER SALTY beef stock served over thin, gooey mashed potatoes, and overcooked squash. We sent back my dinner and called it a night. No apologies from the inexperienced manager. Merry Christmas.
Had the lamb chops and generous portion. Asked for mint sauce and chef made a special concoction - was tasty, great presentation. Husband had the crab scallop dish.
Another tasty dish and huge scallops.
Our server was delightful and cheerful.
Would highly recommend Siena!
The Siena really needs to up its game. We had a reservation for 6 people on Saturday evening.
They sat us at a table set for 5 people.
The restaurant wasn't that busy yet we waited ages to order. When our server eventually arrived at the table we ordered our wine, appetizers and entrees all at once seeing as the service was so slow. It took another age for everything to arrive. Appetizers arrived shortly before the wine and we were still a place setting and a glass short.
Our server was very nice and apologetic but they seemed short staffed.
Two of us had the salmon which had obviously been kept heated until the other food was ready. It was hard and over-cooked.
The scallops were just okay. My friend enjoyed her steak.
We weren't asked how we enjoyed our meal although it must have been obvious from the amount of food left on the plates.
The Meritage needs a good restaurant as it is far out from anything else. The food needs an overhaul.
People at the pool told us the bar food at 'Crush' the bar in Tje Meritage was far better than The Siena. I'm not sure if it is the same kitchen.
The Siena restaurant had great food and service. It is part of the Meritage Resort and is well run, like the rest of the resort. I just didn't think it warranted $160 for two entrees and each glass of wine at $19. Basically, overpriced for what it is - but it is by no means a bad experience. I had the baked Ono fish and it was great.
The menu was a bit limited. The service was poor - the wait staff was clearly inexperienced and was not very attentive. They seemed to be short a few servers . This was not what I expected from this type of resort. I would not recommend dinner or breakfast here.
Part of the Meritage Resort so good to go to if you are staying there and don't want to drive anywhere. Lots of available reservations so no stress there. Very good food and service for dinner. I wasn't expecting much since it's part of the hotel but it was a nice surprise.
We love Siena, we go every visit to Napa, and we are SVC owners. This time, the place was so hot..the table next us on one side was complaining, we were dripping, the man at the table on the other side kept falling asleep! We each asked multiple times, both of the maitre d and the wait staff and they never turned up the air. Unfortunately, it took a lot away from what is normally a fabulous experience...we couldn't wait to get out of there.
This restaurant is "hidden" inside the Meritage Resort in Napa. I live in Napa and frequent our many fine restaurants. I like Siena because it is pretty, usually quiet and fresh food. This time my adult daughter and I met for dinner at Meritage because it is located on the way out of town and she needed to go home to Sacramento. The menu has gone up in price a lot it seems to me. We weren't very hungry, so we split the scallop dinner (5 small scallops) $38 and had a side of their well known brussels sprouts $10. My daughter had a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc $10 and I had a Manhattan on the rocks $14. Everything was excellent. But it made me scratch my head how splitting an entree and having one drink could cost us each $46.50 with tax and tip. A quiet spot to eat is unique nowadays, but I don't think I'll travel out to Siena for those prices. Theirs is the most expensive Manhattan I've had in the Valley.
Very disappointed! We had signed up for the brunch for two upon booking our hotel room. On Sunday morning we amended our table booking for four as another couple decided to join us. When we arrived we became a party of 6 for which they promptly stuck us in a corner. Upon review of the brunch we decided it was vastly overpriced. We ordered off the menu which was a huge mistake. We waited for easily 40 minutes for our orders to be served. One of our friends had the Eggs Benedict and said that the ham was tough as shoe leather. It was clear to me that management had not planned for the volume of people who were dining. One last thing - we sat in the corner with a clear view of the brunch area from 9 to 11 am and I would be very surprised if there were more than 10 people who were taking advantage of the overpriced brunch.
