A disappointing experience. We were a party of 5 and 2 of us selected the omelette bar and got our food fairly quickly everyone else who ordered a la carte had to wait for a long while and when we asked about the delay we discovered the food order had not been placed.
Chef Jose and the staff was superb! Food was excellent and experience amazing! Thank you for making my Aunt’s 70th birthday with family memorable!
I had the half order of pasta with Italian sausage and the Caesar salad. Portions were just right. Food was presented well but lacked sufficient seasoning to bring it together. Service was excellent and overall all very attentive.
We went with my sister and her husband for a weekend getaway to The Meritage Resort and Spa and had during dinner and breakfast at Siena during our stay. We all loved our delicious dinners and received wonderful service! We had the same experience for the 2 breakfasts we ate at Siena as well! The entire staff from the hostess to the servers to the other staff members who were setting up the buffet that we looked at were friendly and helpful with our questions when we were trying decide between ordering off the menu vs. the buffet. We would definitely go back to Siena for a meal!
Excellent food and service. This may be a 'hotel' restaurant, but it can hold its own with any of Napa Valley's fine establishments.
We went for Restaurant Week. The meal service were excellent!
Enjoyed the convenient location after a long day of travel. Very nice!
Loved the Brussels sprouts, and really enjoyed restaurant week, to be able to try this and that!
ENJOYED SIENA AT THE MERITAGE HOTEL OVER THE WEEKEND WITH MY GIRLFRIENDS. WE WENT FOR BREAKFAST AND THE HUEVOS RANCHOS IS DYNAMITE; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. OTHER MEMBERS OF OUR PARTY HAD THE SALMON PLATTER WITH A BAGEL. IT WAS ALSO LOVED! STAFF IS ATTENTIVE AND QUICK WITH COFFEE REFILLS
Great food and atmosphere
Nice atmosphere, food average, service was lacking! No plates on buffet tables. Waiter was scarce. Not worth the money!
The dinner was delicious. Our server was especially nice. All in all, we had a great time! Thank you!
Sat 10 minutes before 8 pm reservation. After waiting 25 minutes, got up to let the manager know that no one had even brought us water much less talked to us. The manager promptly brought a server to our table and apologized and said he would discount our dinner 30%. The discount was never applied. Appetizers came 10 minutes before we received our drinks and our server checked on us once well after we were done eating. Didn’t ask if we wanted dessert, just dropped the check without even bothering to clear our plates that had been sitting empty for 20 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, so it was even more disappointing that the service was so terrible. Food was good, but would never recommend this restaurant based on the poor experience we had.
The risotto was oily and mushy, the ricotta stuffed agnolotti lacked flavor. My date was also disappointed with her chestnut bisque and her pasta dish. Only 3 desserts ruined the crepe brûlée with chocolate flavoring
Came here with the family for Christmas Dinner and it was AMAZING!
We had high hopes for this restaurant on Christmas dinner. But, alas, we were sorely disappointed. The reservation was fine, but we were seated in back, in a dark corner. It was hard to read the menu. Our server was new on the job and couldn't answer basic questions about the menu. We ordered small plates-caesar salad and pumpkin risotto. The salad portion was small with almost no dressing. The pumpkin risotto didn't taste like pumpkin at all. Very bland. I ordered the prime rib and my husband ordered the pork chop. It took 45 minutes for our dinner to be served but they brought us the wrong items-lamb chops and super rare prime rib. When they brought the correct items the pork chop was cold and my prime rib (also cold) was swimming in a SUPER SALTY beef stock served over thin, gooey mashed potatoes, and overcooked squash. We sent back my dinner and called it a night. No apologies from the inexperienced manager. Merry Christmas.
Delicious food abd a very attentive staff. Very convenient. Thank you!
Came for the Sunday brunch with Santa. Appreciated that it wasn’t too crowded but Santa didn’t really look the part...especially on a Christmas Eve.
Also the chicken and waffles were really dry.
Most convenient since we were staying at Vino Bello. We had a nice relaxed dinner. They were slow bringing out the bread but when they did it was excellent and served with pesto. The salads were great. We were happy with our dinners.
The food was delicious and the service excellent. We had a great experience.
The food was disappointing. I hope that it was an isolated incident.
Had a lovely brunch, very nice selection.
Had the lamb chops and generous portion. Asked for mint sauce and chef made a special concoction - was tasty, great presentation. Husband had the crab scallop dish.
Another tasty dish and huge scallops.
Our server was delightful and cheerful.
Would highly recommend Siena!
Breakfast with Santa
The Siena really needs to up its game. We had a reservation for 6 people on Saturday evening.
They sat us at a table set for 5 people.
The restaurant wasn't that busy yet we waited ages to order. When our server eventually arrived at the table we ordered our wine, appetizers and entrees all at once seeing as the service was so slow. It took another age for everything to arrive. Appetizers arrived shortly before the wine and we were still a place setting and a glass short.
Our server was very nice and apologetic but they seemed short staffed.
Two of us had the salmon which had obviously been kept heated until the other food was ready. It was hard and over-cooked.
The scallops were just okay. My friend enjoyed her steak.
We weren't asked how we enjoyed our meal although it must have been obvious from the amount of food left on the plates.
The Meritage needs a good restaurant as it is far out from anything else. The food needs an overhaul.
People at the pool told us the bar food at 'Crush' the bar in Tje Meritage was far better than The Siena. I'm not sure if it is the same kitchen.
The Siena restaurant had great food and service. It is part of the Meritage Resort and is well run, like the rest of the resort. I just didn't think it warranted $160 for two entrees and each glass of wine at $19. Basically, overpriced for what it is - but it is by no means a bad experience. I had the baked Ono fish and it was great.
The menu was a bit limited. The service was poor - the wait staff was clearly inexperienced and was not very attentive. They seemed to be short a few servers . This was not what I expected from this type of resort. I would not recommend dinner or breakfast here.
Siena is a nice choice if you're staying at Meritage and want a fancier meal. Personally I'd rather eat at Crush, which is the lounge in an adjacent building. Slightly less expensive and more my style of fare. Value is hard to find in the Napa area.
I commend the staff at Siena restaurant for being attentive and friendly. They are not simply courteous, they are attentive but not annoying.
It would be excellent if there are more items in the buffet.
Part of the Meritage Resort so good to go to if you are staying there and don't want to drive anywhere. Lots of available reservations so no stress there. Very good food and service for dinner. I wasn't expecting much since it's part of the hotel but it was a nice surprise.
Everything was fantastic, great food (amazing grilled swordfish), we requested a private table for my wife's birthday, they accommodated. Super great service from Vince, our waiter, and all management and staff.
Excellent! The Chef prepared an extraordinary meal for my Wife and Me. We were very surprised at the superior food preparation. I had a risotto dish that was cooked to perfection!
very good food with very large portions. The pork belly was 4 large pieces and tasty. The brussel sprouts were very good.
The scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious
The beef short ribs--very large and so tender
A pleasant surprise for very good food.
Everything was absolutely delightful! The food, the service, the ambience- it was all wonderful.
Food was amazing! The chef even brought out an appetizer for us to try. Which we loved! And pets are allowed
We love Siena, we go every visit to Napa, and we are SVC owners. This time, the place was so hot..the table next us on one side was complaining, we were dripping, the man at the table on the other side kept falling asleep! We each asked multiple times, both of the maitre d and the wait staff and they never turned up the air. Unfortunately, it took a lot away from what is normally a fabulous experience...we couldn't wait to get out of there.
Delicious food and great service
Good food. Exceptional service. Ray was outstanding.
No decanters for wine or red wine glasses. Room service never returned to cleanup patio after called. Next morning food for the birds and complete mess.
Very disappointing for a top resort in the wine country.
Staff and service excellent.
This restaurant is "hidden" inside the Meritage Resort in Napa. I live in Napa and frequent our many fine restaurants. I like Siena because it is pretty, usually quiet and fresh food. This time my adult daughter and I met for dinner at Meritage because it is located on the way out of town and she needed to go home to Sacramento. The menu has gone up in price a lot it seems to me. We weren't very hungry, so we split the scallop dinner (5 small scallops) $38 and had a side of their well known brussels sprouts $10. My daughter had a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc $10 and I had a Manhattan on the rocks $14. Everything was excellent. But it made me scratch my head how splitting an entree and having one drink could cost us each $46.50 with tax and tip. A quiet spot to eat is unique nowadays, but I don't think I'll travel out to Siena for those prices. Theirs is the most expensive Manhattan I've had in the Valley.
