Siena - Smithfield Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful time at Siena in Greenville. The food was wonderful and well prepared. We appreciated that the manager stopped by our table to inquiry about the dinner, etc. Also, our server was very engaging, we had a quick but nice conversation with her about the choices and she helped us to decide on what to order. A very nice relaxing evening.
Went here for our anniversary with friends. Our reservation was for 7 pm but did not get seated until 7:20. We had the cheese platter as an appetizer and it was plenty to share. Our meals were a braised rib, salmon with tomatoes and cucumbers, rack of lamb and veal piñata. Everyone’s meals were delicious..Service was very good. Overall a good night out
Sien, is an absolute gem! Very romantic and the food is amazing. I had no idea that this restaurant was within fifteen miles of where we lived. I started searching Federal Hil and found the Sien restaurant and looked at their locations and found the one in Smithfield. After dinner we went to the Providence Waterfire. It was a perfect evening to celebrate my birthday! The waitress at the restaurant was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. It was a great experience and I am looking forward to going back. I certainly will recommenced to family and friends!
I really enjoy going here. The food is great. It is close to home and easy parking. Also, it is easy to make a reservation if you give yourself time. Only down side is pricing on their menu. Some items are a bit overpriced. Also, you may have a little bit of a wait on weekends waiting for your food. Which leads me to believe they overbooked on reservations. Overall I like to come here a couple times during the year for a nice night out. It is great food and a nice atmosphere.
Very nice birthday dinner at Siena, party of four. The waitress EXCELLENT, the food was very good.
The experience with the Bar however was less pleasant. We tasted three wines (eg, three one ounce or less servings) to go with the cheese/ olive appetizers platter, ordered two of the ones we tasted. When it was time to order drinks to go with our entree, we requested taste two different wines to see what to order to go with the dinner entree. The waitress returned from the bar and informed us that she was unable to provide any further wine tastings.
Spoke with the Manager to inform her of our dissatisfaction with the bar service. She made no attempt at addressing. Very disappointing both in the 'limitation' and the failure of the manager to respond to the complaint. We spent over $70 on drinks to go with our meal yet 3 'tastings' apparently exceeded the limit allowed per table.
This is not the type of service I expect at a "fine dining" establishment. Given the disappointment with the way the staff and management handled this situation, I can only give this experience a 'fair' overall rating. For want of 2 ounces of wine to taste, an experience goes from a 'great place, tell all my friends' to 'fair, not sure I'd return, there are other places in town that I'd go to before coming here'.
Sienna is the most consistently excellent restaurant in Rhode Island, regardless of location. Creative specials, willingness to make small adjustments without hassle (in my case substituting mozerella instead of bread crumbs), fantastic service. Not cheap, but certainly not overpriced. Perfect night out. Every time.
I only have one complaint. The seat we where in had a very high walk by traffic by employees. Seeing them walk by multiple times with nothing in there hands and not even escorting patrons seemed unnecessary. Understanding if they had been doing something yes. But to continue walking back and forth caused a continued breeze our food cooled from it.
Service was superb, not rushed, and meals were delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed themselves and were very impressed. Only negative was the air conditioning -- it was too cold and attempts at correcting provided short-lived relief. Will return, however.
This was our second Visit to Siena in Greenville. We have been to the Providence location several times. Our first visit was just ok but this visit was very good. Our server, Amenda, was first class. We started with the egg plant appetizer which was very good. We both had dinner specials: my wife had the salmon and I had the chicken/sausage/broccoli over pasta. Both dishes were very tasty and enjoyable. Portion sizes were very good.
Overall a nice experience and will return!
Siena in Providence has been my favorite for years but finally got to the Smithfield location and it was GREAT! Not a big fan of the horse racing theme - seems a little out of character, but it is very tasteful. The seating was not great - we were 5 people seated with 3 on a couch and a person at either end in chairs - could not converse. It was also VERY noisy. Had a hard time hearing our server whose voice was very high and who spoke very fast. There was live music at the back that was good, but added to the commotion. Service was exemplary, food outstanding. I will definitely be back and make request for a high-backed booth or a table near the front windows.
