About Siena Ristorante Toscana

For over 18 years Siena has been Austin’s premier destination for authentic Tuscan cuisine. Locally owned and operated Siena's owners wanted to share their love of Tuscany with Austin diners. Utilizing the talents of long time veteran of the Austin food scene, Chef Harvey Harris, Siena's goal is to transport the dinner from the hills of North Austin to the rolling hills of Toscana. Chef Harvey received his Master's Chef in Italian cuisine while attending culinary school in Piedmonte Italy, but his heart is in Tuscany where he lived and worked. All food at Siena is prepared to order, pasta is made fresh daily as well as all stocks and sauces. Our food is complemented by an award-wining wine cellar and served in rustic, elegant surroundings of thick stone walls and tall wood-beamed ceilings. Whether visiting for a light lunch, happy hour, special event, or a romantic evening, experience the welcoming charm of Tuscany close to home.

This restaurant has a cozy bar with fireplace. Great drinks! The decor throughout the restaurant is wonderful. Lots of attention to detail. Nice menu and the food is very good. Very attentive waiters.

This was a great spot for our anniversary. It was a long drive from downtown Austin, but romantic and the food was excellent. We would both visit again

Second time at Siena and continue to find it a very good restaurant, but service is uneven. First time, it was good enough to come back and try again. Second time, food was even better and all four of us enjoyed our starters and entrees. But our waitress was clearly new and got drink orders wrong, forgot things, and had a really hard time fixing a mistake on the check, etc. Nothing fatal but in a place like this would assume someone would be watching her and could prevent obvious errors and fix things quickly

We went for our anniversary. My wife is so picky cause she doesn't like crowds and she is very particular with her food.
Everything was perfect that night. It's was busy but the place is situated well so it doesn't feel crowded. We both come from family's that are really into food so we have almost impossible standards for a restaurant.
We were impressed everything was spot on. Food was fresh and presentation was great. The potato leek soup was amazing. Trout was better then any trout I've ever made. Our waiter was great.

I give this place a 10

So disappointing! We wanted a quiet place for dinner with friends. On that score it was OK - not so noisy as most. On the other hand, the food was poor - only 1 meal out of 4 got a so-so rating. Our order took a long time. At one point, the waiter put 2 of our meals down on the table but came back a minute later to whisk them away, saying they were for another table! Then we waited another 5-10 minutes for ours. We don't plan a return visit.

Chose this place for an engagement celebration after proposing to my girlfriend. Our parents met us there and we had the best time. This restaurant and the staff are great! Can’t wait to go back.

Sorry to say it, but the food is overrated here. We always come for the ambiance, but the menu is always the same and the food is just better than average with fine dining prices. Frankly not sure what more they can do with trout, but one of the only specials was extremely bland and boring with boring rosemary infused potato chunks that were also underwhelming. The steak filet was fortunately a quality piece of meat cooked to a perfect medium. The best thing was the scalloped potatos. Something was just missing.

The scratch linguini with seafood and the ravioli were fair. The appetizer of baked brie was fair.
Unfortunately, the service was also fair. It was very disappointing as the beauty of the building, location and idea is really quite lovely. Not worth the money.

Sometimes this restaurant is fabulous but the next time it’s not. The almond crusted trout, which is my favorite dish here, was absolutely dry and my friends had to ask for extra sauce on their cappelini.

Food was good but they are not flexible in making adjustments to menu items for specific food intolerances. Also asked to split a salad as they are sizable. When we received the 2 plates, there was maybe 8 pieces of arugula on each plate but the full salads served at our table were loaded with greens. The waitress was less than friendly. We have had way better service here but this night was disappointing!

We were sat and never acknowledged. Another table was sat 5 mins after us and received their wine order before our table was served water. Bread was also delivered to the tables around us, but no acknowledgment to our table on this round as well . After 15/20 mins of trying to figure out the disconnect, it was time to leave. The manager did reach out via phone at 9:50PM the same evening to offer a gift card, but left a vague message and didn’t appear to know what had happened. Luckily another Italian restaurant in the area met our expectations.

Started off bad, only got worse. The hostess eventually greeted me but mid-sentence she excused herself and went to look at the dining room for a little while. When she came back she invited me to wait for my companions at the bar but that area of the bar was covered by her homework-which she finally moved 10 minutes later. Once we got seated and ordered our food, it took an inordinate amount of time to arrive and was not prepared very well. It is a shame because the ambiance is great. Just seems like poor execution and/or lack of management and training.

Our favorite appetizer for years has been Siena’s frito misto. Now it is only on the happy hour menu. Seems strange that if it is still on that menu we cannot order it for a dinner appetizer. This happened at Eddie V’s with their oyster & spinach appetizer but the waiter told us he could get it for us to have with our dinner. We understand that it would be more expensive on the dinner menu than the happy hour menu. Very disappointing even though we liked the calamari appetizer we had.

We were visiting from out of town and decided to try it. Absolutely delicious. I had the traditional osso bucco. It was a slow cooked veal shank so tender it fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. Cooked to perfection. Had a Moretti beer to accompany it. We dined in a quiet upstairs dining area. Service was impeccable. Excellent menu recommendations and personal service. I would dine here on our next trip to Austin. Recommend highly.

Siena has always met our expectations for food quality, variety, wine selection, atmosphere and attentive, not hovering, service. I always leave the restaurant looking forward to my next visit.

For us the location of is ideal and the parking is not the challenge one can experience with downtown and/or large retail mixed-use project restaurants. The almond crusted trout is my personal favorite with a nice bottle of red Italian wine.

We have celebrated our anniversary at Siena for years now. While pricey, the food is consistently good and stacks up favorably with similar recipes we've had in Italy. The ambience is quite nice and the service has always been attentive without being intrusive. Would recommend a bread basket on the table instead of having to signal a wandering server.

Siena is one of our favorite spots! It's beautiful inside and out. The service is great. The food is top-notch. Atmosphere is sophisticated but comfortable. And you can even hear the conversation at your table without hearing the conversations of the tables around you. It's a lovely place!

As the hostess seated us at 6:18 PM, she said: "Just to let you know, you will have to be done by 8:30 PM because we have another reservation." We were GOBSMACKED at her comment as peered around the empty dining room.
Keep in mind, we had a 6:30 PM reservation and we arrived at about 6:15 PM. Sienna was basically empty - one couple at the bar and a couple of tables in the attractive dining room.

A little background info...My spouse's nearby corporate office uses Sienna for interview lunches, interview dinners, and group lunches and corporate dinners (NOT ANYMORE!). He has wanted to bring me here for months. Needless to say, this was not the experience we were expecting.

The food was nothing special. We were in and out by 7:30 PM (restaurant, bar and parking lot still empty) and we will not be back.

Met with our book club and was put at a reserved table in the bar area....some of ate and some just had drinks. All was good but the waiter would not split the checks, with frankly just seemed to put a damper on the evening. Seems like its an easy enough thing to do. Waiter was rather annoyed with us it seemed. Expected more from this place.
