About Siena Ristorante Toscana
For over 18 years Siena has been Austin’s premier destination for authentic Tuscan cuisine. Locally owned and operated Siena's owners wanted to share their love of Tuscany with Austin diners. Utilizing the talents of long time veteran of the Austin food scene, Chef Harvey Harris, Siena's goal is to transport the dinner from the hills of North Austin to the rolling hills of Toscana. Chef Harvey received his Master's Chef in Italian cuisine while attending culinary school in Piedmonte Italy, but his heart is in Tuscany where he lived and worked. All food at Siena is prepared to order, pasta is made fresh daily as well as all stocks and sauces. Our food is complemented by an award-wining wine cellar and served in rustic, elegant surroundings of thick stone walls and tall wood-beamed ceilings. Whether visiting for a light lunch, happy hour, special event, or a romantic evening, experience the welcoming charm of Tuscany close to home.

Siena Ristorante Toscana Ratings and Reviews
Our only problem was that our server was new and apparently did NOT know the menu well enough. When My wife asked if the ravioli was in a red sauce, she responded yes. That was wrong, and my wife had to send it back, and changed her order completely. But that one experience will not dissuade us from coming in the future.
I was disappointed as they delivered two salads drowning in dressing. For such a nice restaurant someone should oversee that mistake. We sent them back but honestly, for such a nice restaurant, they shouldn’t get that wrong. I am talking a cup of dressing on one of the salads.
Try to as often as we can. We meet some friends there and it was a great experience. The wine was great and the food is outstanding. All the seafood option were some of the best I have ever had and everyone said the same thing. Their special for the night was seared tuna and I could not ask for better. Can not wait to go back. Loved it.
HAD TO FIGHT TO GET SOMETHING ON THE HAPPY HOUR MENUE FOR DINNER APPETISER IN MAIN DINING HALL. BUT AFTER GIVING THE WAITRESS A HARD TIME ABOUT IT SHE MADE IT HAPPEN BE MORE FLEXIBLE!!! OTHERWISE THE SERVICE WAS FRIENDLY AND SHE HAD A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR ABOUT IT ALL. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC BUT A LITTLE EXPENSIVE THE DINING HALL IS A VERY COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE
The service was good. The server was a little corse, but attentive. The food quality was poor. The boar ragu was dry and and the noodles bland and stuck together. The rabbit was ice cold and the kitchen microwaved it to reheat-not edible. We have come here for family dinners for years and never had a bad experience until now. I doubt we will go back as it takes almost an hour to get there.
Food here has gone downhill. We called ahead to make sure our favorite dish would be on the menu. We were assured it would be by a surly hostess. At the table, we were told it was not on the menu. Pork was over cooked. Spaghetti was horrible. And all of it was very expensive. I won’t be coming back!
We have been to Sienna several times and have always been pleased. Met some friends at Sienna this time. Our friends first time to Sienna and they were extremely pleased with food and service. I rated them a 4 instead of a 5 because there was way too much time between ordering our entree and it being brought to our table.
Second time at Siena and continue to find it a very good restaurant, but service is uneven. First time, it was good enough to come back and try again. Second time, food was even better and all four of us enjoyed our starters and entrees. But our waitress was clearly new and got drink orders wrong, forgot things, and had a really hard time fixing a mistake on the check, etc. Nothing fatal but in a place like this would assume someone would be watching her and could prevent obvious errors and fix things quickly
We went for our anniversary. My wife is so picky cause she doesn't like crowds and she is very particular with her food.
Everything was perfect that night. It's was busy but the place is situated well so it doesn't feel crowded. We both come from family's that are really into food so we have almost impossible standards for a restaurant.
We were impressed everything was spot on. Food was fresh and presentation was great. The potato leek soup was amazing. Trout was better then any trout I've ever made. Our waiter was great.
I give this place a 10
So disappointing! We wanted a quiet place for dinner with friends. On that score it was OK - not so noisy as most. On the other hand, the food was poor - only 1 meal out of 4 got a so-so rating. Our order took a long time. At one point, the waiter put 2 of our meals down on the table but came back a minute later to whisk them away, saying they were for another table! Then we waited another 5-10 minutes for ours. We don't plan a return visit.
Sorry to say it, but the food is overrated here. We always come for the ambiance, but the menu is always the same and the food is just better than average with fine dining prices. Frankly not sure what more they can do with trout, but one of the only specials was extremely bland and boring with boring rosemary infused potato chunks that were also underwhelming. The steak filet was fortunately a quality piece of meat cooked to a perfect medium. The best thing was the scalloped potatos. Something was just missing.
The scratch linguini with seafood and the ravioli were fair. The appetizer of baked brie was fair.
Unfortunately, the service was also fair. It was very disappointing as the beauty of the building, location and idea is really quite lovely. Not worth the money.
Food was good but they are not flexible in making adjustments to menu items for specific food intolerances. Also asked to split a salad as they are sizable. When we received the 2 plates, there was maybe 8 pieces of arugula on each plate but the full salads served at our table were loaded with greens. The waitress was less than friendly. We have had way better service here but this night was disappointing!
We were sat and never acknowledged. Another table was sat 5 mins after us and received their wine order before our table was served water. Bread was also delivered to the tables around us, but no acknowledgment to our table on this round as well . After 15/20 mins of trying to figure out the disconnect, it was time to leave. The manager did reach out via phone at 9:50PM the same evening to offer a gift card, but left a vague message and didn’t appear to know what had happened. Luckily another Italian restaurant in the area met our expectations.
Started off bad, only got worse. The hostess eventually greeted me but mid-sentence she excused herself and went to look at the dining room for a little while. When she came back she invited me to wait for my companions at the bar but that area of the bar was covered by her homework-which she finally moved 10 minutes later. Once we got seated and ordered our food, it took an inordinate amount of time to arrive and was not prepared very well. It is a shame because the ambiance is great. Just seems like poor execution and/or lack of management and training.
Our favorite appetizer for years has been Siena’s frito misto. Now it is only on the happy hour menu. Seems strange that if it is still on that menu we cannot order it for a dinner appetizer. This happened at Eddie V’s with their oyster & spinach appetizer but the waiter told us he could get it for us to have with our dinner. We understand that it would be more expensive on the dinner menu than the happy hour menu. Very disappointing even though we liked the calamari appetizer we had.
We were visiting from out of town and decided to try it. Absolutely delicious. I had the traditional osso bucco. It was a slow cooked veal shank so tender it fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. Cooked to perfection. Had a Moretti beer to accompany it. We dined in a quiet upstairs dining area. Service was impeccable. Excellent menu recommendations and personal service. I would dine here on our next trip to Austin. Recommend highly.
