Siena has been our go-to restaurant for special occasions for years. The food is typically good, if overpriced, as are the service and ambience. My only negative comments about our recent visit is that my food seemed unusually salty, which in my experience there just may be a singular occurence. I don't know why Siena is so parsimonious with the bread. We ran out early into the salad and had to wait for the server to ask us if we wanted more. Ran out again before the main course. Given the prices there I really don't understand why they can't just put a basket on the table like every restaurant I have ever been to in Italy does. I have made this observation in earlier reviews. That the practice hasn't changed suggests to me that nobody in a position to make even this minor decision really reads these reviews anyway. All that said, however, we will return to Siena for our special nights dining out and we continue to recommend the restaurant to others..

We always enjoy our meals at Siena! We have never had a bad experience here. The walnut crusted trout is our favorite dish, but there are many wonderful meals to choose from.

This restaurant is one of our favorite venue in Austin. The service and food are always very good. The location is easy to access. I recommend it without hesitation.

My sister and our daughters had a wonderful dinner Sunday night. Sorry we were a little late leaving, we were having so much fun. Samantha took great care of us, for our meal, and Gina was kind to serve us a last round of Chocolate Martinis!! Siena is one of our favorite places in Austin!!!

Great ambiance for any special occasion. Salad was outstanding, main course very good, dessert outstanding, coffee luck warm and not fresh. A little expensive but worth it.

The lamb and pecan crusted trout were fabulous. Quiet enough for good conversations. Not crowded at all and service was top notch.

I had made a reservation weeks in advance and shared that I was bringing a friend for her 70th birthday. We were sat in a corner with walls on both sides with no view at all and there were plenty of tables with window views. The food server may have been the worst I have ever had. I believe his name was David. He only allowed us one roll and took our plates away before we had finished our bread. He gave us the check before we were finished with our meal and never even asked if we wanted dessert (remember 70th birthday guest I brought). I asked if that meant were could not have dessert and his response, "Oh, did you want dessert?" I said that we did and he rolled his eyes like we were such a bother! Wow, I was so embarrassed to take my friend to a place with such poor service on such a special occasion for her. NEVER AGAIN!

Our wait person was very attentive and we have now been fortunate to have him there on two occasions. He was very knowledgeable. My only comments are on the food - my grouper was dry and I was not a fan and this was the special for the day- and for a birthday we received a scoop of ice-cream- seems like a signature dessert for this type of Italian cuisine would be more memorable.

Awesome meal, as usual! We had the baked Brie as an appetizer and it was superb as was my penne salmone. Joseph was our server and he did a super job of taking care of us! Highly recommended!

Had a 7:15 reservation, walked out at 9:30. Service was poor at best and the food was just ok. We have eaten there several times but not sure we want to go back; pretty tough night.

I hadn't been in a couple of years and I was pleasantly surprised... Our waiters were excellent! Paul and Derek in training. Well informed about the selections and very entertaining. It was a great meal and the pear for dessert with the fennel pollen was excellent. I treated coworkers... its been a rough go at work... so the lunch was a GREAT diversion and was very relaxing... we couldn't stop laughing at the experience... WONDERFUL... We will be back!!

overall experience was very good. The reason for 4 stars was the dessert lacked flavor and we were not provided a knife to cut the pear. I'm also not a fan of goat cheese which was blended into the cream cheese. When we asked the waiter for dessert options the full description was not provided. Overall a very pleasant experience.

We've been going here for 20+ years for special occasions. This time was for my wife's birthday and we were disappointed overall. It's a romantic location but this time too many things were wrong. We stated out with bottle of wine, which was very nice, then we ordered an appetizer with the thought that we could enjoy the wine and then the appetizer while we spent time with the menu to decide the rest of our dinner. At this point the waitress informed us that this was "not allowed" and that we had to order the complete meal at the same time. Wow, never heard that before but I guess at that point I was a little intimidated and rushed my entrée order and ordered the mixed grill. My wife ordered the evening beef filet special. Both were ordered medium rare, that's when I was again informed that they would not serve pork tenderloin less than medium. OK-again, probably my fault, so I agreed to the medium. Big mistake, pork tenderloin was over cooked and dry, no big surprise but I ordered it so my fault I guess.
I do think the menu is much smaller or less inviting to us.
I long for the days when the veal chop called my name every time I came in, those days are apparently gone for ever, hasn't been available the last few times we have been there.
Overall a disappointing evening for my wife's milestone birthday.

My friends and I were very disappointed in our meal on February 21. We've dined here numerous times and have always loved it. However, this time the service was terrible; there were only 4 of us and the waitstaff had to return to our table a couple of times to confirm our orders and then still didn't get it right. The food served was not up to par and we waited an extra long time for it to be served and yet the restaurant was not that crowded.

Not sure we'll try it again; if we do, it won't be for a long time.

Waitress was awful and food was average at best for a nice restaurant. Have been there previously and had a good experience. Probably will not return based on this experience.

We had a great time. We had a quiet corner upstairs which provided a very nice environment for a romantic evening. Cozy.

The waiter came by to see how our dinner was, but in the middle of mt husband saying “the scallops were really good, but” he walked away. The salmon was over cooked. I had the mushroom pasta—always one of my favs—but I, who never salts anything, had to salt it twice to no avail. I don’t think they salted the pasta water. Also, i was not offered fresh ground pepper for my salad even though the pepper grinder was in plain sight. Don’t think we’ll bother to go back.

Our waiter was perfectly attentive, had gr at suggestions, overall great service all around!
