Siena - Providence Ratings and Reviews
From start to finish, the experience at Siena on Federal was PERFECT. Valet parking made arrival easy. Our table was ready. Our server was knowledgeable, efficient, excellent and attentive without hovering. The calendar with balsamic sauce was exquisite. The signature meatball was to die for, and each of us had excellent entrees! One had chicken piccata, so tender that a knife was not needed with a delicious, delicate piccata sauce. One of us had penne with chicken and vodka sauce... also excellent. I had the special 8 oz filet, cooked to a perfect medium rare and tender enough to be cut with a fork. Desserts were equally superb. Salted caramel gelato and a chocolate bread pudding that blew us away! A lovely bottle of red, and cappuccinos to finish and we may have had a perfect evening and dining experience! Thank you, Siena!
The ambiance and food was really great, our server was attentive and also very good, and overall I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. My only complaint was the complimentary bread was cold with cold butter. It seems like a silly complaint, but I think if the bread was warm it would really have made my experience even better.
Our overall experience was very good. We arrived before our planned reservation and were seated right away. There was a wide selection on the menu and we were pleased with the specials. I was pleasantly surprised when my Tagliatelle Bolognese tasted just like my grandmothers. It was a wonderful place to celebrate my husband's birthday.
A friend recommended Siena, so glad she did!
Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed and when leavening we were thanked!
Nicole, our waitress, was excellent! She was incredibly attentive and her fine details from cocktails, beer, wine, night’s special, to entrees made it easier for us!
Upon our thoughts of sharing a second cocktail, Nicole came with one shaker and two glasses! Had never even thought of it! The appetizer was delicious! The entrees were as well, Veal Saltimbocca was moist and cooked perfectly! The Brasato was more of a comfort food but delicious too.
Wish we could have had dessert, will have to save it for next visit!
Had a wonderful dining experience, thank you , especially to Nicole!
The food was very good. The service was terrible. We had 6:30 reservations and did not finish until 9:00 pm. We watched other people come in, eat and leave as we sat there waiting for our food. The waitress was not very friendly and seemed like she did not want to be there. She kept disappearing for long time periods.
I took two friends who were visiting from Texas to Siena, and we had a terrific experience. The service and food were wonderful, they had a great drink selection, and the dinner portions were generous. We enjoyed our meals so much that we ate the leftovers for breakfast the next day!
The restaurant was very busy, so I would definitely recommend a reservation. We had to wait a few minutes for our table when we arrived for our reservation, but we were not in a rush and it was well worth it. You will not be disappointed!
This is such a great place to experience dinner in style. The wine was excellent. The food was superb, and the service is quite good.
We ordered a pizza as an appetizer. It was sensational. I ordered the Osso Bucco dinner special and it was one of the best I've ever eaten.
I look forward to visiting again.
Food and ambiance was excellent! A lot of energy and Siena definitely has the feeling of a " happening" place. Loved the complimentary valet parking. Makes it so easy to dine here. Only drawback was our service. I hadn't eaten all day and was very hungry. Due to dietary restrictions I couldn't eat bread so couldn't snack on that while waiting for my meal. I ordered the caprese salad with grilled shrimp on top for my entree. My dinner companions ordered appetizers and entrees. Their appetizers took a little while to arrive. When their appetizers were cleared their entrees came out but mine didnt and there was no sign of our waitress for 15 minutes. I had my friends start their meals because I didn't want them to get cold. They were half way done with their meals and I still didn't have my simple salad. My husband got up from the table to hunt down our waitress. She didn't apologize. Just told my husband that the " caprese tower" fell over and they had to rebuild it. 10 minutes later the salad finally arrived and everyone else was done with their meals. ( this salad came about 25 minutes after my dinner companions' meals arrived ). So many things wrong with this 1) all entrees should be served to everyone at same time--no staggering 2) if my salad needed to be readjusted this should have been a quick fix --no need to wait a half hour 3) our waitress wasn't on it and wasn't apologetic in the least. She never communicated what was happening until my husband cornered her. Then blamed the kitchen. I blame her. I ending up rushing and not even finishing . That part was unpleasant. If we had a different server this would have been a perfect night out. Everyone else's meals were perfect so I will return and give Siena another try. I just had bad luck tonight.
This place has very good food . We both enjoyed our meals and service was very good . I ‘d say don’t hesitate to eat here . It a good choice ! I had a veal dish that was tasty and cooked perfectly . My husband had a mixed seafood dish which he thought was very good also . We ended the meal with the creme brûlée which I would recommend . Yum !!!
Wonderful dinner. Great wait staff. Very fairly priced. Excellent portions. Try the Salads, they are amazing. We sat at one of the front tables, by the bar. Only issue was the tables are pretty close together and the noise level from the very busy bar can make it a bit hard to have a conversation with your dinner partners. Will be going back soon...very soon.
It is a standard tradition to dine here when we are in town for business. This October marked our fourth year coming and we were already discussing plans for 2018. The service and food are exceptional! You can't go wrong with any order, but the spare ribs, gnocci and salads are outstanding!
