Siena - East Greenwich
Great service. Food was good, especially the chocolate cake. Veal saltimbucca was ok,not really how I like it. The evening was spoiled for me because the area was very cold.
Good food...and service.........................................
Siena is our "go-to" restaurant when we want high quality food with good service. It's a friendly, well run establishment whose wait staff is well trained, efficient, and motivated. It's always a pleasure to dine at Siena as it has never let us down. We really do not eat out often and have been disappointed too many times. When we find something good, we stick with it. Siena don't change a thing.
Excellent food and service. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back soon
Because it was so quiet and the tables close together we whispered to each other so as not to be overheard or disrupt others, but I certainly wouldn't let that stop me from going back. Everything was delicious.
We always enjoy the ambiance, the food is excellent and the wait staff are professional as well as friendly and always accomodating!!
Ariel was phenomenal, so welcoming and made us feel at home! A wonderful evening!
Always the best!! The best restaurant in Rhode Island.
The food was exceptional with ample portions, and the service was top-notch!
Problems with the temperature of the room. Bitter cold at times, but comfortable at others....
The variety of the food selections and the preparation was superb! Our waitress was more than an employee of Sienna; it was as if she was a member of our family who was serving us and taking us through the entire process.
My favorite restaurant in a town with many nice restaurants. The food was - as always - delicious, and the atmosphere is always fun and lively.
We arrived on time wasn't seated until about 20 minutes later..meanwhile 3 couples came in after us and seated immediately! So you know how I feel already.I ordered cosmopolitan martini ,all I could taste was vodka..terriable....thank God food was excellent...not enough to make me go back..allset!
The meal was excellent and our server Jess was great! We actually mentioned at dinner that considering how crowded the place was, we could hear each other at the table. Thanks for a great celebration meal for our daughter!
I was so disappointed in my meal. I get Frutti de Mare wherever I go, although I got the similar seafood Napoli dish but with pasta @ Sienna. I got a large lobster SHELL (no lobster in it!) & a lobster claw. That’s just plain rude - I don’t need a huge shell sitting on the top of my pasta! Second, the appetizer sliced bread is horrendous - soft white sliced bread - awful. I’m really into the bread & like the ciabatta or bread that is hard on outside & soft on inside. Third, the meal was too soupy. Fourth, I asked for the dish but with NO fish. What I got was a meal chock full of fish! Totally ruined the dish. I told waitress & she said “Oh so sorry!” ? So, I don’t mind paying the price for a delicious meal but that was a waste. I will not be back but will be going to my regular favorite Italian restaurants instead - Romana Trattoria & Osteria Toscana.
Siena's food is consistent and service is with a smile and lots of assistance when needed. We absolutely love the Cortona Pizza with the prosciutto, roasted dates, mozzarella, gorgonzola, caramelized onions & fig purée. It just does not get any tastier. The swordfish entree is a favorite of my husband and mine is the Brasato, a tender boneless beef short rib braised with wine, vegetables, tomato, garlic and stock, served over a creamy parmigiano-reggiano risotto. I could eat that every day of the week!!! Very filling and oh so good!
Excellent waitres and wonderful food. Loved the desserts too.
I feel badly posting a negative review.....the food is still quite nice, but I’ve had this same experience the last few times I’ve gone to Siena: the service is lacking, slow and inattentive. I tend to tip generously, since I don’t want to take it out on the wait staff. There is obviously a management problem. I feel bad for the staff, who are working very hard. But the pace of the meal is glacial, drink refills are hard to come by, and it’s impossible to get anyone’s attention there. If I’m paying close to $250 for 2 people, I’d like my water refilled . I think Siena has lost its touch
Fantastic service (Amanda?)! Had a birthday card waiting for my daughter at out table - food was on point as usual.
Our server, Desiree was outstanding. The entrees were a little skimpy for the price, and there was a cool draft on my neck the entire time we were there. We will go back to try other things on the menu
Absolutely favorite place to eat in Rhode Island. We never leave disappointed.
Birthday dinner was top notch! Delicious as always!
First time visiting and boy what a delight. Food, service, and ambiance all great. Highly recommend.
Usually a 5 star experience but only 3 this time. Firstly, the hostess did not look up from the computer when we arrived... No eye contact to the point that when I told her we'd wait at the bar I didn't think she'd be able to find us when the table was available! The table was going to be a while so we stayed at the bar. Service was very slow and the pasta dish we love so much was way under cooked and chewy. Otherwise, always good value, love sitting at the bar tables and making new friends... Chocolate bread pudding to die for!
Overpriced, loud, food lacked flavor and was poorly prepared.
We were seated by the door on the upper level and we were very cold and people were standing right near us while waiting for their table. It was awkward.
Always excellent food and service, and a neighborhood fine dining is an added bonus!
Everything was great except there was cold air either coming from the window or a vent.
Receptionist needs customer relationship refresher. Waitress was great.
Never disappoints. Food and service were both excellent. Share the meatball appetizer, unless you want that as your meal. Homemade red velvet was great.
Our dinner experience began with a tasty Inverno salad which we shared. It was Mesculin greens, arugula and radicchio tossed with dried dates, cranberries, gorgonzola cheese & a cranberry vinaigrette dressing and topped with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and candied walnuts. For our entrees, an excellent swordfish and a chicken dish with pumpkin risotto were very much enjoyed. Added to this was a side of fantastic caramelized brussel sprouts.
Great place to go for dinner. We have season's tickets to PPAC and received a business card from Siena in our season's tickets package offering a free appetizer (up to $14). We decided to take advantage of the offer and made a reservation for dinner. Yes, highly recommend you make a reservation! Siena is very popular and prime dining times seem to book several days in advance. This was our first visit to taste Siena's Tuscan cuisine. Food was fantastic. We ordered an appetizer, cocktails, entree and dessert. Dining was leisurely, but not slow. We felt neither rushed nor ignored; timing between courses was perfect. From start to finish, it took 2 hours; so, going to Siena East Greenwich before an 8pm production at PPAC, we allowed 3 hours: 5pm reservation, 2 hour dining window, 1/2 hr travel to PPAC, 1/2 hour to get settled at the theatre. If you don't expect to enjoy dessert, you can probably do your reservation for 5:30pm. Our wait-person, Jeff, was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Nice guy. Good eats. Enjoy! Coming from Westerly, we decided on the East Greenwich location instead of the Providence location because we didn't want to deal with parking in Providence at a restaurant AND at PPAC. Siena East Greenwich has plenty of parking and is not far from I-95.
The food was excellent. The service was terriffic, The atmosphere was very nice. The only down side was tables for two were too close waiter had to squeeze between tables a little uncomfortable for me. I normally dine in Smithfield wanted to try another location.
We’ve never had a bad experience at Siena! Food is always fantastic! Service is impeccable! Our favorite date night spot!
The food was fantastic as always. Server was very good, attentive and polite.
Lobster Rav special was wonderful!
Valentines Day dinner was plenty busy but another Siena showcase performance. Wife had terrific short ribs and staff accommodated some dairy/lactose needs. I enjoyed (yet again) the tagliatelle bolognese which is always special and well worth a daily visit. :). Stephanie(service) was outstanding, knowledgeable, fun, accommodating and rounded out a nice experience for us.
Compliments to Siena for another job well done.
Great food and great service. Thank you!
We made a reservation through OpenTable for two, but when we arrived the hotesses were rude, preoccupied and said that they could not accommodate us and that there was a ten-minute wait. Over the next 40 minutes, there was no update and the bar was full of diners, so the bartender could not serve us, and the patrons were loud, the hostesses continued to be disorganized. We have been at Siena - E.G. 2 times before, and experienced the same situation so it just was not a situation of dining the day before Valentine's day, and have never had this experience at Siena - Smithfield; the manager and waitress made up for the wait with appetizers and great service, but the food was mediocre. I would recommend Vanda just 4 miles down the road.
