Siena Bistro is the BEST restaurant in Willow Glen, if not the whole of San Jose. The food is simply amazing. The cheesy garlic bread is the best appetizer you could imagine. Entrees are excellent, but my favorite is the Pork Piccata. Even something as basic as the Caesar Salad is exceptional; better than you can find anywhere else. The entire staff, including the chef, are very friendly and provide great service. A small, cozy atmosphere. Dress is casual. Ample convenient parking. This is my only regular spot. LOVE IT!!!

Friendly service. Chef came out and walked around to all the tables to see how everyones meal was. Small restaurant so reservations are a good idea. Cute outdoor area for dining.

Food is Italian style and was prepared excellently, in a rustic or home style. Service was attentive, helpful and very friendly. Wine list had good choices without being overly long. They have a nice outdoor area which would be good in the day time. Their address is on Lincoln, but they are actually beside the car park off Minnesota Ave.

The service tonight was especially friendly as we were entertaining some out-of-town guests who especially enjoyed the whole experience.

Siena is small and somewhat hard to find, but well worth the effort. The food was delicious -- italian-style though with clear american influences. The wine list is relatively small but with a focus on high quality (but affordable) small labels, providing both variety and a bit of fun. Perhaps best of all, the friendly but high-quality service left all of us impressed. We were a party of 6 ranging from a 1.5 year old girl to two 90 year-old women and the entire staff handled the range of challenges such a group creates extraordinarily well.

We went to the restaurant on a Thursday and it was full of what seemed regulars. We tried the crab cakes as an appetizer, they where very moist. The main course was a rib eye that was marinated in espresso and had a nice zest to it. For dessert the poached pear and pumpkin gelato was very nice seasoned. If you want to have great food in a neighborhood setting it is a must go.

I've been going to this restaurant since back when it was called Primavera. It has conssitently been outstanding. Beautiful food, decent wine list, and very nice staff. Reasonably casual, nice for either indoor or outdoor dining, and a very "neighborhood" sort of place. I would recommend it to anyone.

A nice neighborhood-style restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not able to get a seat outside - it was a beautiful night - but inside seating was comfy, if a little cozy. The scallop gorganzola was very nice, with the scallops cooked perfectly, and the braised short ribs very tender, but the accompanying polenta wasn't a high point. Overall, the experience was worth repeating, and we will definitely go back.

Well hidden but worth the find. You enter through the parking lot, we entered from the Minnesota/Lincoln ~ near Le Boulanger. The menu expands with specials, one was the Pumpkin Raviolis, generous portion, full pumpkin flavor, a bit sweet. The sole almondine was exceptional, melt in your mouth delicious and a definite go to for fish lovers. The side veggies had brussel sprouts, not a fan of but still very tasty. The service was excellent. We finished our meal with the apple bread pudding, it is made with brioche, resembles the taste of french toast, covered in kahlua carmel sauce, very yummy.

Everything was very nice for lunch - pleasant outdoor seating, great food. Too bad the service was slow and I had to get up to ask for the check. However, I will go again and see if the service is better, because I really enjoyed my meal.

Extraordinary and creative sturgeon special accompanied by one of the best tiramisu desserts ever. And the waiting staff actually cares.

While i dearly want to recommend this local spot i cannot. it's great that the chef wants to spend time with his customers but he should have spent more time in the kitchen. the sole amandine was the only main course of 4 that was really tasty. Short ribs were dry & tough, spaghetti and lamb were uninspired. sides were the same for all dishes and not wonderful. the service alas was not better. our waiter didn't take orders ladies first, went "around the table", which would be fine if we were not just 4 people. the other wait person/female was so curt and abrupt we didn't want to ask her for anything. never got water glasses refilled, etc etc. not a place i would take friends or a date. disappointing

I enjoyed the outdoor patio dining very much, although it was a little crowded for my party of 6. The service was great and our waitress ,Stepahnnie, was very helpful in answering our questions. The sole and trout were exceptional as well as the short ribs. Willow Glen is a wonderful location but it does get crowded and unforunately Siena Bistro's entrance was in a construction zone.

We had a great lunch at Siena Bistro. The outdoor dining is casual & relaxing. The service was excellent without being hurried. Our food, a BLTA & Grilled chicken salad was delicious. Not overpriced. A great place to meet your girlfriends for lunch or a romantic dinner in the evening.

Wonderful outdoor dining, with live music (even on a Tues. evening) with different solo performers on guitar, or sax - music at right volume so that we could still have easy table conversation. Menu had good variety and food was good to very good. Service was attentive, but very slow (maybe because just featured by Open Table as great neighborhood secret and all tables were full). Would definitely return for another visit - want to try for lunch too.

In the summer this is the place to go. The outdoor patio lit up with white lights and live acoustic music.....you can't beat it. They also have a great 2 for one dinner deal and the food is EXCELLENT!!!! We will definitely be back!

Siena never disappoints. It has been a special occasion spot for the last 7 years and we have broadened our visits to include date-night. The menu has the perfect amount of variety without being overwhelming. The food is always gorgeous! Regular items mixed with seasonal items and specials keep it exciting. The braised short ribs are my go-to favorite. The bread pudding is done perfectly.

We've dined at a lot of the local spots. This is one that TRULY lives up to their warm and welcoming reputation! The service is so friendly - we felt like regulars the first time we visited and that is one of the reasons we always return. Everyone, everytime makes you feel like a guest they are happy stopped by, not just a "table".

Upscale Italian food, all very tasty and well-presented. The garlic cheese bread is phenomenal. However, it is VERY expensive, and the food, while very good, is not really worth the entree prices. These are "white truffle" prices, without the white truffles.

Great neighborhood spot - the food this visit was outstanding. Not sure if they have a new chef, but just seemed better this time. Service was great and the owner was very accomodating of our request for a heater for outdoor seating.

I found this spot originally on a Google search for a restaurant in the area. It has become a favorite meeting place for friends gathering from Santa Cruz and the East Bay. The menu is fun, the food is great, and the service has been outstanding. The outdoor patio was delightful.
