Siena at The Courtyard Ratings and Reviews
The food was great as usual. The hostess - not so much. We asked for a table in the more desirable part of the restaurant, with better ambiance, she refused to seat us there on the pretext that tables there were reserved. I said I had reservation too, but that didn't matter.
What made things worse is the fact that noone entered the restaurant after us (we had a pretty late reservation), and of course noone sat on the so called reserved tables. Not sure why this young lady really is in the service business, she showed no interest in actually accommodating us, even though it was obviously possible to do that without much effort.
Good, but not great. At this price point I've had much better tasting and more creative food, and certainly better atmosphere and dining experience. The food is more expensive than impressive, and the atmosphere is a confused mix of sports bar (loud music, sports on TV, and obnoxious old people having too much to drink all around us) and date night (dim lighting, cozy tables, and a menu suited for sharing). Our server was attentive and timely, but not knowledgeable enough, and more concerned with making an impression than making sure we had a good time. Overall it was fine, but not worth my money. I probably won't be back.
We are regulars and live in Castle Rock so we have gone for over 3 years now. We miss the amuse bouche but the warm bread and dip that comes first is delicious. Happy hour is a great deal and I recommend always trying to sit outside in the beautiful courtyard in spring, summer and fall.
The barbeque shrimp appetizer is so good that we always get it. The best dessert is the s'more waffle with homemade chocolate ice cream. This time, our server, was Josh, and he was great!
I thought they would have more Italian food, but the tempura fish wraps were delicious. Since I was celebrating my friend's birthday, they made it even more special by noting her name and giving her dessert and beverage gratis. First time there. Very nice place.
This restaurant has a nice ambiance with tables spaced for privacy. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. It was so comfortable that on a first date we stayed and didn't notice they were closing until we stood up and saw just 2 of the help remaining. They never prodded us to leave as we just lost track of time. First class place !
We were seated in a new room on the south side of Siena since we had requested a quiet area. It was perfect - decor, allowed us to enjoy conversation without the noise of the central space. We plan to come again for dinner. Previously we only visited for lunch.
First time eating at Sienna and we will definitely be back. Food was delicious. Unfortunately it was a cold night and we we close to the door and got the occasional chill when it was opened. But that did not spoil a wonderful evening at a wonderful neighborhood restaurant!
We are huge fans of Siena; however we had a bit of sticker shock when the check arrived. My wife and I each had the "specials" which were a Filet and Grouper; both of which were good; however $39 for a 6-oz. filet and $38 for the fish were way too highly priced! The waitress did not indicate the price when she informed us of the specials -- if she had we would not have ordered them!
Sienna has a terrific happy hour. The appetizers are tasty and the drinks well-prepared. A lively scene! I think their wines are very good, as well. Their meals are certainly adequate and ambitious. I believe their wait staff sets them apart from other restaurants. Our server, James, was excellent. At other times, all of our servers have been outstanding. Kudos to the waiters at Sienna!!
Try the s’mores dessert! Everything was delicious. I’ve never been told upon entering a restaurant with a reservation that the next table would be there in two hours- but that’s what we were told before being seated...so... it was a lil strange- however food was excellent, service was great so I would absolutely recommend it!:)
The food was very tasty. We had the specials which were quite expensive. We should have asked how much the specials were before we ordered ($36)! The waiter (male) was haughty and disinterested. Never came back to ask if everything was okay or if we needed drink refills.
We've dined here several times and always have a good experience, so it's become our go-to option when guests visit. We were 15 minutes early for our reservation this time and they still got us seated promptly (fyi, the loft area is a nice spot if you want less buzz from the bar...but if the weather is nice, definitely ask for the courtyard!). The menu has a great selection of classic Italian fare and some unique creations. The roasted scallops with polenta ravioli and fig jam is one of the tastiest dishes I've had anywhere, period. So e and cocktail offerings are solid as well, and so is dessert. Oh, and the bread comes with an amazing oil, herb, and veggie bowl for dipping...mmm
First time at Sienna.....we were pleased with the Gluten Free options....so had pizza & a salad. Both were very good and large salad was generous. It was 1/2 price bottle of wine night... a Bonus!! Server was able to answer our inquiries on GF options and very attentive. I will definitely go back to Sienna!
Just dined at Siena for the first time and it was perfect! All of the food was amazing, our server Josh was great! He talked us through the menu and explained a lot of wine options to us. My date and I got to talking and lost track of time and were there after closing but the staff was great and didn't make us feel like we were being pushed out or anything. Will definitely being going back, try the mussels!
Located in downtown Castle Rock the city's Holiday decorations are fabulous so it's worth going there to see the lights. Even with a reservation that specified it was a birthday dinner we were seated in front of the door, it was cold and drafty, and our request to move to another open table was denied. They did not acknowledge the birthday. I had the stuffed prawns which were good but my husband's chicken parmesan had an unappetizing appearance and was very dry.
The server recommended the specials and they were horrible. Food all around out of 6 of us was not good at all. They did take care of us because the food was so bad and the server was extremely apologetic and also very attentive. We were not asking to compt our meals due to the food but they did anyways. Honestly even though the food wasn't good everything else about the place we liked.
Checked in and sat for 15 to 20 minutes without even a hello or a glass of water. Went to front desk two times, nobody there. Hubbys 84 Birthday! Saw a waiter told him our situation and he said he’d speak to Sean. Another 10 min and nothing. I grabbed a young lady, sweet as can be, and she made sure we got everything. We frequent this establishment so we were not happy. The waiter who I spoke to before walked by several times and wouldn’t even look at us! So thankful for the waitress who waited on us!
I visit Siena on a regular basis but I will take a break since I was very disappointed yesterday. My Pear salad had no Pear and our waitress was awful, never checking on us to ask how our meal tasted, no water refills and we had to find her so that we could pay our bill. When I mentioned to her that my salad had no pears she smiled and said "oh I will let the kitchen know".
I was looking for a dining experience that would be memorable. And that it was. My date and I were meeting for the first time. For a great romantic dinner This place was suggested. It was better then I had hoped for. We talked for 30 minutes before even looking at the menu. Never felt rushed by our server.
The specials were told to us in a professional and fun way. Everything from our drinks to our dinner and coffee were amazing. I work at a local Hotel and Siena in the Courtyard has just hit the top of my list for Restaurants to recommend. Thanks again to the staff for a wonderful evening.
