Open 24 hours. Located in downtown Las Vegas.
The El Cortez feels like it hasn't changed in years and the Seigel restaurant is the same way. That is the good news. It is old school Vegas. We had our Thanksgiving dinner there and enjoyed it very much. Two turkey dinners with all of the normal sides and a bottle of wine for $100, including the tip, is a good deal in Vegas. Our only complaint was the desert. They were out of the pecan pie and the apple pie. This left pumpkin pie as the only choice and neither of us are big fans. It was only 7:30 and reservations were required. Our waiter was very nice and brought my wife some ice cream, but Thanksgiving is the one time of year that requires pie. 🥧
Our family met in Vegas for the Thanksgiving holiday this year. I chose Siegel's 2942 because of its location and traditional menu for the holiday. Our service was excellent, food was great, overall a great place I would go back next time I'm in Vegas.
I like this place. Good value, absolutely amazing staff, and decent food.
Half priced Senior Wednesdays are a terrific value at this fun retro Las Vegas restaurant! My favorites are the Cobb salad, salmon, and mushroom burger! ASK FOR LINDA! She is the best server!
We never got a chance to eat any food as we cancelled our order and left before it came. It takes a lot for me to walk out of a restaurant but this was solely related to the service. I have received better service at drive-thru restaurants. Here is how it went...Server: (no welcome at all) What do you want? Co-worker: Prime rib Me: Prime rib as well Server: starts to walk away Me: Wait, don't you want to know how we want it cooked? Server: How do you want it cooked? Co-worker: Medium-rare. Me: Same, and I see it comes with potatoes, can I substitute a salad or vegetables or something else? Server: No, it comes with potatoes Me: What about a Caesar salad? Server: You want a Caesar salad with your prime rib? The Caesar salad is huge, it could feed two people, so you want a Caesar salad instead of prime rib? Me: No, I just want a small side Caesar Server: We don't have small Caesar salads, server starts to walk away Me: Don't you want to know if we want something to drink? Server: You want something from the bar? Me: Yes, I then place my order Co-Worker: Do you have frozen drinks? Server, no we don't have frozen drinks Co-worker: orders a different drink. Server: Walks away At this point we got up and told the hostess we were leaving and to cancel our drink and food order The words in this review cannot possibly convey the attitude and tone of annoyance from the server during our interaction. They may have great prime rib but we will never find out as I will not be back. 5 minutes of the worst service we have ever received at a restaurant. We were glad we cut our losses when we did.
For a restaurant open as long as it has been, you'd think they'd have better quality items. I LOVED my steak and the sauce that came with it but the veggies (green beans and broccoli) were clearly from a frozen bag. The Delmonico potatoes were bland. My mom got a chicken chopped salad and it was good (HUGE portion!). Service was so-so (but it was in part to the fact that they looked understaffed) and the cigarette smell occasionally came wafting into the restaurant. I'd be willing to try a burger or something else if I ever went back.
The $12.95 prime rib special was delicious. I alsohad the shrimp cocktail and it was sooooo good. Our server was terrific.
The menu had plenty of options and the prices are very good. Two at our table ordered prime rib and the other two filets. All of the meals came with a choice of potato and green beans. We ordered salads and they are add-ons but and we opted for the small green salad for six dollars. It's a standard salad with a few cherry tomatoes, two slices of cucumber and mixed greens. I learned after the meal that they would have brought some dinner rolls had we asked. They do not bring them unless you ask. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food and it was prepared as we had requested with the meat being neither over or under done. The service was slightly disorganized but it was very busy so that was understandable. We had wine at the table and the price was not over inflated and a nice affordable addition to the meal. It's a nicely decorated room and not stuffy but tasteful but casual enough. I am interested in going back and sampling the walleye that is mentioned on their specials board. Over all we were satisfied and look forward to going back. It's not a place that will wow you but it also doesn't disappoint.
Food was wonderful but service very very slow. Cigarette smoke from the casino is prevalent inside the restaurant as well. But excellent meat dishes.
We arrived late at night, it was bussy, our server seems confused a little bit, but gave us a good experience, the prime rib special for 12.95 !! Was good but not the vegetables that comes with.. overall we enjoyed our time, delicious food and affordable price..
Decent breakfast this morning. I had the Farmhouse breakfast. Scrambled eggs perfectly cooked, hot and fluffy. Pancakes were quite delicious. Great flavor. Service was adequate. Setting clean and stylish.
We read great reviews for this place. We were very disappointed: smokey smell, prime rib was less than cafeteria quality. We both ordered medium rare, both came medium to done. Side dishes as well. HIGHLY OVER rated.
Siegel's 1941 never fails to deliver a great meal, with great service, in a classy and inviting atmosphere. We took our guests from Germany here to celebrate birthdays.
The Prime Rib was outstanding, as always.
Dessert was exceptional. Staff were friendly, attentive without being annoying, and made us feel like their BEST customer. Highly recommend Siegel's 1941. One of our top "Go To" spots in Vegas.
Looking for a brunch location and this had great reviews. I was a tad disappointed. Just an average motel cafe.
Food was good for price, reasonably cheap. Was ok just. Nothing special in terms of the setting
The food was fine. Not overpriced and not particularly great. Server performed all the duties that were required of her. Nice looking place and very relaxed. Can't beat the convenience.
A delicious prime rib, perfectly prepared, sweetly served and with the best horseradish sauce I've had out in many years. Thank you for a lovely, old school, Las Vegas dining experience.
Decided to try a less high end, more casual dining in the downtown area. This place fit the bill at the El Cortez.
It was relatively quiet, even though right by casino. Had a knowledgeable, friendly waiter and some great choices on the menu. I had the Signature dish, Siegel’s 1941...it’s steak and fries for $19.41. It was a small steak, but perfectly cooked to my request of medium rare and the fries were good too. My husband had the prime rib. His was a very nice portion, cooked rare, as he requested and he ate it all with a happy smile on his face.
Would go back again on our next visit to Vegas. Stayed at the Plaza, which we really enjoyed, but their fine dining place, Oscar’s, was way more pricey and we were too tired to really enjoy a more elaborate dining experience. Also, would want to dress more appropriately and it was way too hot and we had been on a road trip in Montana and Utah, so did not need or pack nicer clothes in 100+ degree weather.
Recommend for a nice meal and good prices.
Returned to try the impossible burger sliders and they were very tasty and cute. The shoestring fries smelled and tasted how the ff used to be in my childhood. Server even remembered me. Pleasant throwback ambience. The prime rib special $12.95 just as delicious during the day for lunch.
Ask for the $12.95 prime rib special. You will leave full. Wednesday's there is a special 1/2 price Senior's dinner menu. The salmon on that senior menu was delicious.
Great steaks for a great price!!
I’d recommend to anyone!!
It's true, Siegel's has the best Reuben around. Everyone enjoyed their meal!
Just a great place in the old El Cortez that does great food with great service. Huge menu and big portions!
Great understated place with laid-back 1940's vibe. Excellent menu selection with something for everyone, including some very affordable choices if you're on a budget or just want something simple.
After an absence of several month the Walleye dinner has returned. Instead of two filets for $18.00 they are now offering one filet including a vegetable side for $25.50. Half the serving size for $7.50 more. The prime rib special is delicious. The baked potatoes used to be dusted with salt before baking and they are no longer doing that. Both entrees were delicious however we were disappointed by these two issue.
This is a nice place for low end fine dining. Prices are reasonable and service was ok.
Linda is the best of the best servers! She remembers our preferences and always interacts positively with our party if the number of guest is two, six, twelve, or more! Ask for Linda and tip here for her excellent service!
Our server, Linda is near PERFECT every time that she serves us--we ALWAYS request her! Senior Wednesday is a regular day for us to dine at Siegel's 1941: steak and eggs breakfast is the best value and is really good; the Cobb Salad is my favorite dinner, but Siegel's Burger is a close second! Salmon is, also, a good value and tasty. ASK FOR LINDA TO BE YOUR SERVER!
We loved it and the food was fantastic. We loved it and the food was fantastic.
It's a great, typical Vegas downtown hotel eatery. The only issue is the cigarette smoke that you can smell from the gamblers--since the restaurant is open to the casino. Otherwise, it's a great diner-type place, and great for a big group.
This was a unique dining experience where you felt like the Rat Pack was libel to wander in at any minute not that celebrity chef BS on the strip.
While vacationing in Las Vegas, we enjoy dining at Siegel’s because the food is delicious, large portions and always fresh. We also enjoy the quaintness of a nice restaurant that’s easy to talk to one another with a relaxing ambience.
Old Vegas charm in a classy old-school atmosphere restaurant located in the classic El Cortez Hotel & Casino. All the TVs play movies from the 40s & 50s and the menu has a picture of Virginia Hill (Bigsy Siegel's girlfriend). Great food and excellent breakfasts - the Breakfast Sandwich Supreme is especially killer. In fact, haven't found anything we don't like there - all of it's delicious. Totally love it. Waitstaff is friendly and quick. Quiet too, which make the ambiance nice. Everything is set-up very stylish and it's a great place to eat. A+
Food was ok. Lady who seated us forgot to tell server so it took almost 20 minutes to place our order with no drinks. Once food came it was good, not the best but ok. Atmosphere was kinda cool. Everything looked a little worn.
Forget the Las Vegas Strip (leave that to the underage hipsters!) if you're 40 and older? You will find pleasant atmosphere on Fremont Street (if you're in your 50s and AARP age? I guarantee you will feel welcomed by a wonderful staff prepared to ensure you have a nice dining experience).
Great place to dine. New your strip was a great cut of meat just needed more seasoning.
Took 30 minutes for drinks to arrive. Brought the wrong salad TWICE. chef came to apologize and blamed it all on his trainee. Said they'd buy us our drinks. Salad was $16 and they didn't even take it off our bill. It ended up arriving with our main course. Lady next to us was on speaker phone our ENTIRE dinner. I was taking a client to dinner here and was very very embarrassed.
Siegel's is a "Hit & Miss" type establishment. Some days are good some days you feel you should have eaten at Denny's® On this visit, My New York Strip, ordered Med Rare came out Rare and bleeding. The Delmonico potato's were still cold in the center. Ordered a side salad and got 25¢ worth of salad mix, 2 thinly sliced pieces of cucumber and 2 cherry tomatoes sliced in half. Including the dressing, I think the total cost to make the salad was 60¢ and they charge $5.00. Hey guys Lettuce is REAL CHEAP, give me a salad I can at least call a salad, not a cup full of lettuce and a hunt for any other veggies. Hey, the chicken fingers were good, but the fries weren't fresh. Like I said, some days are better.
Siegels offered us a good menu to purchase food from. It's in the freemont district so prepare to pay for parking. The food was good and the ambience was ok but the service was just normal. Nothing wrong with it just nothing exciting.
