Sidney's at Willoughby Run is always a wonderful experience. With it being on the outskirts of Gettysburg you can enjoy a quiet evening, food prepared to perfection, presentation is very eye appealing and service is never rushed.
It was our first time there. Food and service were excellent.
Food was excellent!!! Top notch one of the better fine dining experiences in Gettysburg
Service was extremely slow and at times seemed non existant
Our son goes to college in the area and when we visit we look for new dining options on the area- this is a great find, good food in a pleasant setting. We all liked the lobster ravioli!!
Everything was perfect! The server was extremely helpful and informative. The Ravioli and Grilled Monk Fish not only tasted amazing but were perfectly fulfilling. The timing was perfect. The amazing, WARM, COOL, AND ARCTIC CAPPUCCINO was absolutely scrumptious and was the ultimate dessert to top for an overall incredible dining experience for our date night! I highly Sydney At Willougby's!
What a disappointment! This restaurant came highly recommended from friends and I thought it would be a lovely pre-Valentine dinner. Not so. I questioned why we were seated in the informal bar area (placemats instead of tablecloths) and I was told that "the servers like to fill up the bar tables first." What happened to the customer's preference?
We are an elderly couple, obviously dressed for a special evening out, and we were given a bar area table seated next to a two-year old!
The service was generally fine and the food was reasonably good (not extraordinary as I had expected), but this was not fine dining. For the money, the Inn at Herr Ridge is preferable in every way, including food.
As always, Sidney didn't disappoint - the food was super fresh, my burger cooked perfectly and the desserts not only looked beautiful, they tasted that way. Four of us had the burgers, all cooked differently and we were all happy with the results. Our one 'outlier' kept raving about her chicken wrap and home made chips. The rest of us all enjoyed our french fries.
The food and its presentation was excellent. However the ambience of the restaurant was poor. We arrived at a table and were seated in an inappropriate space with no table Linens. The wait staff tied to be friendly but was very unsophisticated compared to the food offerings. It takes away from such a gourmet meal to be in a setting that is very mediocre.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, it did.
Terrific experience, as always! Friendly and knowledgeable server made it a memorable dinner.
Whenever we want something different or special, we go to Sydney at Willoughby Run. There is always something unique on the menu plus some standard fare. The flavors are wonderful and the presentation is excellent. The desserts look too good to eat but they are delicious. The drink selection is varied with something for everyone.
As always food was delicious. Excellent service with understanding of one guest's food sensitivities.
Consistently excellent food& service! A dining oasis in a tourist area (Gettysburg) with no other decent restaurant! Lunch and dinner selections reliably good, with caring wait staff. Kudos to chef Neil Annis . Also like the original Sidney in East Berlin, PA.
I am always pleased by my experience here. It is clearly the best restaurant in Gettysburg and our favorite.
The ambiance of the dining room could have been improved if there had been space without the bar in the room. There are two very large banquet rooms off the small dining room/bar that I'm sure those are used for events. But it would seem that somehow a small area of one of those rooms could be used for the regular restaurant dining?
The food, ambiance, beverage offerings and service were all stellar, as is usually the case. Only negative is that for a vegetarian, options are quite limited. Highly recommend Sidney, though. Special place.
My wife is gluten free and they were very accommodating to this.
We celebrated our 22nd anniversary at Sidney and it was amazing. Our service was amazing and everything we ate was incredible.
Excellent, as always, from arrival to dessert. The food is always top notch and the service and attention to detail are impeccable. Friendly and accommodating.
This was our first time here, combining a birthday celebration event/dinner that was nothing less than "Top Gun" in all aspects of dining experience. Our waitress provided service during our meal that was second to none along with some jovial conversation that kept the evening spirited. From appetizers to desert the food superb, with wonderful selections to choose from.
If I were to add a recommendation for consideration to this review, it would be to add lighting to the Sidney at Willoughby Run sign located at the entrance on Rt. 30, so that it's visible to patrons in the evening who aren't familiar to the area.
We look forward to our next visit.
We had a delightful lunch -- fabulous seared tuna -- followed by excellent Irish coffee. It was a memorable meal!
Outstanding evening. When you want "Special", this is it.
As usual, everything was fantastic from the food to the service.
I have eaten here on many occasions and I am never disappointed. Great personalized service, creative menu, and excellently prepared food.
My wife and I chose to have dinner here for our Anniversary, after reading a blog review by a friend. We enjoyed the entire experience. We were seated in the bar area, which had some nice light jazz playing in the background. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. As it was our anniversary we were treated a few small extras compliments of the chef, which were greatly appreciated. My wife and I chose the Brussel Sprouts from the sharing menu, and they were fantastic. The butternut squash, walnuts and macerated cranberries included in the dish really set this apart from plain brussel sprouts. My wife chose to build her own burger, which she said was one of the best she's ever had. I had the Panko breaded Barramundi with Potato gnocchi and fresno chili sauce which was fantastic. The desserts were just as wonderful. My wife loved the Vanilla Creme Brulee with mixed nut biscotti, and enjoyed every bite of a cheesecake with fig compote, roasted hazelnuts, and a honey granita. We will certainly return, and have already recommended this spot to friends.
I've been to Sidney's about 5 times ans have yet to be disappointed. Every year we have our office Christmas party there. It's always an enjoyable evening.
The food was the best it's been in a long while - the barramundi was perfection! - but the service was lackluster. Waitress hadn't tasted most of the menu items we asked about, nor was she personable. The waiter who had the table next to us was more useful since he described the specials to his table and we could hear, where our waitress could barely remember them.
My husband and I ate here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we are both so glad we did. The staff were all very nice and attentive and we were greeted with celebratory champagne for our anniversary. We were very impressed by the plating and presentation of all dishes as well as the amazing taste as well. We both enjoyed the beef brisket and it was tender, and melted in your mouth. The sides were mashed potatoes and carrots and even the sides were just incredible. The flavors all complimented each other and made for a very well balanced meal. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate cake and creme brûlée and both were spectacular. We will definitely be returning the soonest chance we get. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Never go when Gettysburg College holds Parents weekend!
Attentive, friendly, personal service. Delicious food—everything from starters to dessert. Good wine and beer selection. Cozy atmosphere.
Excellent service , attentive service, particularly enjoyed the pate as an appetizer and the desserts
Great food! We enjoyed the sirloin steak and the barramundi. It’s clear you have a very talented chef!
The ambiance is best described as “country club”. It’s nice, but doesn’t have much ‘character’ - kind of sterile decor.
One thing that bothered us a bit is that the waitress didn’t tell us her name. (This was the case at all three restaurants we’ve eaten at in Gettysburg on this trip so far, which we thought was strange).
Great service, excellent appetizers, entree, and desserts.
We will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends.
We were in Gettysburg on vacation and dined here for a romantic dinner out. They had a fantastic drink list and excellent entree selections. We enjoyed our meal very much!
Phenomenal meal! Our waiter was wonderful, every course delicious. Great pace. The evening was perfect.
Not a large menu but certainly many carefully planned choices. Execution and presentation was terrific. Desserts are NOT to be missed.
I typically don't leave reviews, but have to for Sidney at Willoughby Run. This is a hidden gem. Quiet outdoor patio seating during nice weather is unlike just about any other restaurant I've been to. Beer and wine list is fantastic. Prices are reasonable.
Fabulous!!!! We took a trip up to Gettysburg to see friends and went to Sydney's for our anniversary dinner. I had let them know ahead of time that we would be celebrating and right after seating us, the server came out with two glasses of champagne to welcome us and thanked us for allowing them to celebrate with us. Food was spectacular and service perfect. If I could give the restaurant 10 stars, I would!!!
