SIDECAR at P.J. Clarke's
We were visiting from Pittsburgh and stayed at a hotel nearby.
First, the food is delicious. We each loved our meal -- ribs, rib-eye and the wagyu burger. The drinks and sides are great and the service is what you'd expect at a 5 star restaurant. Everyone clearly cares that you have a great experience. It's hidden entrance above P.J.'s is so cute -- like a speakeasy. Tables are far apart. I'd recommend it to friends and business colleagues. A+
Lovely venue, great service and good food. Was a perfect end to our day!
Immediately acknowledged as booking with Opentable... and by name.
Overall great service by waitress.
Food was great although “American sized portions” caught us out.
Nice experience... fairly quiet but I guess the venue is used for corporate. We were eating as family with teenage daughters.
Would recommend and go again.
Sidecar at P.J. Clarke's is a great hideaway. The food is the same awesome food as PJ's , but the atmosphere is better enjoying the company your dinning with. Visitors might want to be downstairs, but Sidecar is my club!
Great martinis, great steak, great selection of oysters. Great service by our waiter Sam. We will be back again very soon.
Nice lunch plenty to chose from.
Make a reservation
very pleased with visit. would definitely return. easy to have conversations. lots of room to move around. friendly and informed wait staff. manager was also very hospitable.
Fabulous as always. Sidecar never disappoints. Food, service, ambiance all wrapped up in a club atmosphere.
the lobster cobb was deliciious. It really could have been a dinner size. I couldn't finish it.
I thought the entire menu looked good. I'll be back
As always the food was exceptional and, as always, the staff was perfection. I highly recommend Side Car for any event or meal. You won't be disappointed.
It is a little pricey for lunch and a bit noisy if you are trying to have a one on one conversation but the food is good and the service friendly if a bit slow.
Always a great meal at Sidecar. The crab cake was delicious and the salad so fresh. A wonderful place for a friendly get together or special meal.
Ribs require extra napkins and a wet packed one is appreciated. Doesn’t come that way.
Sidecar has always been very good. The most recent visit gave off a different vibe somehow. Half the dining room was partitioned off for no apparent reason. The whole experience seemed more casual, which is ok. But something seemed different. Have to go back again. But food still great.
Sidecar is an iconic New York restaurant in as much as it appears in Mad Men amongst other TV shows and films. It sits above the original PJ Clarke's, which is an institution in itself.
The ambiance is great, the food is good, and the service is very attentive.
Would definitely recommend - particularly for an out of town visitor!
I wasn't too impressed with the food, especially at the price of each dish. They were also out of an appetizer .. at 1:30 in the afternoon.. Kind of strange seeing as how quiet the place was. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I don't think I'd go back.
Went to Sidecar for a Wednesday lunch with 3 colleagues. Ordered the chicken club/iced tea. Very comfortable room, great for conversation. Excellent service. The sandwich had fresh ingredients but found it to be a bit dry, the cole slaw was as well. $20+ for a sandwich is well within UES prices but it should be deelish. That said, will go back.
Great food. Great service from our waiter Sam. We are going back again on fri
Excellent service and response to a mixup in the kitchen with our order. Food was excellent- not sure “value” exists in midtown unless you are a local! Definitely worth a meal.
A+. Everyone had a great time.
Sidecar is my "go-to" when I want to be with friends and colleagues, have great wine, excellent food, attentive service, and wonderful conversation with those at the table. It is an easy, comfortable place with a warm atmosphere, and hosts who know how to make you feel at home.
I recommend it.
Cuisine is simple, but done exceptionally well. The steaks are done perfectly, sauces are full of flavor, not too salty, not too spicy. The quality of the shellfish and fish speaks for itself. The oreo cake is a share for the table and it goes quickly.
If you want to have a meal in a New York icon with a nice mix of the neighborhood and the world--you will enjoy Sidecar. Go for a table near the windows.
Food is solid, not spectacular. Great service. Tables large enough and far enough apart so you can have a conversation.
Waitress was amazing
Noise was too high when they were busy at 1:15 but by 2:00 it was quiet and made for good meeting place for conversation. Food and service first rate. Enjoyable experience
Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food!
Terrible experience. At those prices I’d expect much better service and food. I assume it was a bad night but I likely won’t go again
Good value for quality food and classic city dining experience.
Very good experience. Good food and quick service. Thank you
It was fantastic. The food and service was excellent.
Reunion with old friends. Night started off well. But service became poor as it became more busy. Wait staff is not collaborative and would not assist us if we were not designated to them. Our dedicated server chose to double down on servicing a larger party that came in after us, and we were largely ignored. Variety of appetizers were average. The wagyu burger was tasteless and not as good as the downstairs classic burgers.
The service and the food were exceptional, as usual. We always have a very pleasant experience here and feel well taken care of.
Sidecar was the complete opposite of the downstairs dining experience. The atmosphere was more open and airy, the dining room is a more refined, the food was amazing. Even the waitstaff were next level. This was a very enjoyable experience, and I look forward to the next opportunity to dine at Sidecar.
Always love coming here. Delicious menu, great NY atmosphere, friendly pro staff.
Lovely service. Delicious food and yummy desserts!!
I really like the Sidecar and go as often as I can.
Had business clients in town and had a great time.
The service staff is helpful, friendly and made the dinner a huge success.
The food is always great - opted for the burger this time and it was excellent.
Will be back!
We went to Side Car after the St. Patrick's Day parade and had a great meal and a terrific time.
Overall, this place is very good. I like how it's separate form the bar area (which can get very loud and rowdy). Every time I go it's very low key so it's great for an intimate date or business conversation. Some of the portions on the apps could be a bit large but the food is very good. When I have gone in the past, management pays close attention to every detail.
The food was delicious and the service, excellent.
