Side Street Inn boasts something for everyone from sports lovers to wine connoisseurs with satellite-ready, big-screen TVs to view games and a full-bar with a vast variety of domestic and imported beers (even their own signature "Side Street Inn Rogue Ale").
Excellent food. Absolutely delicious fried rice. Bring the family and appetite! Portions are large. Great neighborhood spot but also worth a trip. It’s great to watch the plates passing by. The aromas are awesome. Everything looks so good it’s difficult to choose. Great bar too.
Food was excellent!
We got the spicy garlic chicken and the signature fried rice and both options were amazingly flavorful and worth it. Food is family style and you get more than enough to share. Finished off our dinner with the Creme brûlée and was not disappointed. Hidden gem with reasonably priced food and drink in an area known for being expensive
Consistently good food and friendly service in a relaxed sports bar atmosphere.
Fried pork chops and fried rice with lup chong were very good as usual. Chinese chicken salad was okay, not very tasty, missing some spices. Ordered the Chinese style tai snapper; not so good, not hot barely warm, fish not very tasty. Brownie w/ice cream, molten chocolate cake, and lilikoi crem brulee were excellent!
The food we ate was delicious. They only have happy hour from Sunday through Thursday though. It gets quite noisy.
Side Street is our Go To restaurant for all special occasions and it exceeded our expectations again. Love the food and service. Mahalo
There is no finer food on the Island!
Huge portions of food. Self parking is hassle. Suggest to valet parking ($6.00) instead of public parking next to the restaurant ($10.35).
The people here were very friendly and the service was great. Maybe it was me but the food was just OK-too much for sure but even the fried rice was just ok.
The availability of Open Table is a great boon to the experience! The food as usual was delicious and tasty: the Chinese roast pork had the perfect crispy skin. It would have been perfect if the pork was cooked to the usual firm, "white" color... it was just barely perceptible pink hue, just short of perfect. The Fried Rice was bomb! as usual and the Pan Fried Pork Chops was its usual excellent taste and texture. The chops were "honored and reverently" consumed by all, in honor of the recent passing of the founder. He was the chefs, go to place of local culinary comfort! We were all grateful for having the Side Street Inn.
Great place for comfort food or to introduce someone to local cuisine. The portions are generous and food reliably good.
A great Hawaiian experience. We go to dinner here every time we visit the Island.
Celebrated my children’s birthday today. Open table asks why we are making a reservation, date, birthday, etc. The restaurants never acknowledge the occasion when I book on open table. Doesn’t make sense to ask if the restaurants don’t really follow through.
Besides that, food was good and server was attentive.
The food is down home comfort food. Little flourish but honest and hearty. A good place to sample Pacific rim hybridized comfort food.
The most fun you can have at dinner without getting arrested. Go with a group of 4 or more to experience the most variety. Get drunk, eat a ton, joke with your servers, and celebrate life.
The works fried rice and garlic chicken was delicious, but a friend wanted beef. The waitress suggested kal bi Korean style short ribs on a bed of kim shee. The ribs were good but there was so few of them that it was not worth the price at $31.00 a plate-way over priced!
Your restaurant lacked a little friendliness. Not as welcoming. There were 3 people at the reception desk looking down and talking when I entered. Would of liked at least one person to acknowledge. And even when they did, no smile to say "Welcome to Side Street Inn". Though I was there a few minutes early, they did say my table wasn't ready. I mentioned that I would be outside waiting.
I waited 15 minutes or so and decided to check if my table was ready since know one came to let me know. As I entered in, we bumped into another friend joining us as she was heading towards the ladies room. To my surprise she mentioned that she was already seated 5 min. ago.
Also are seating was located right by the set-up station that was a little noisy.
The Host on 2 occasion asked for the menu list. I sense they were short of menus. But we were still not done deciding. We still haven't even ordered dessert yet.
On a positive note, your food is good. Your waiter Petee was amazing and gracious. Your Valet service was also great and ended with a "thank you" and "Have a nice day". That made the evening end well.
Great service great food. Place gets packed after work...around 6pm!
return to an old favorite. only downside was Hawaiian shortribs not as good as last time.
Food is always great! They do get super busy so reservation highly recommended. It is a sports bar so don't expect anything fancy. Just good food and drink and bring your own cool friends.
Recommended as where locals eat. Not disappointed! Fabulous food. Beware..HUGE PORTIONS served family style!
Our server was very attentive without being overbearing. Food was great as usual and service was excellant
Food and service were outstanding. A rare experience where the amount of food matches the cost. All services - parking attendants, host/hostesses, and waitresses were amazing. Definitely will make this our #1 stop when we are visiting Oahu.
Our favorite restaurant!
we enjoyed the food and atmosphere very much - definitely recommend this to others and we intend to return when next we visit waikiki
Great service, had reservations-showed up 30 minutes early , was seated immediately. Food was exceptional, even accommodated gluten free requests!
Food always good and comes out quick!
Wish they did something special for birthdays like free ice cream or cake.
We ordered the highly touted pork chops and fried rice. Large portions to share and delicious.
We were in Honalulu at a bar and we asked our waitress to recommend a restaurant that the locals go to and without hesitation her answer was the "Side Street Inn" The food was great and our server was pleasant and fun. One of our parties was a vegan and the restaurant was able to accomodate him with a meal that he said was the best he had i8n Hawaii. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat great local comfort food.
Family night...service was excellent! I apologize for not getting her name but she was very attentive to all her guests. Enjoyed the food and casual atmosphere.
As always the food, drinks, and service was absolutely EXCELLENT.
Very generous portions. Both the pork chops and the fried were really good. Heather
Food was great as always!
Side Street Inn is our go to place for taking our out of town guests! So delicious and it never disappoints!
Horrible Bad food bad service
