It is always a treat to eat here. Mama cooks and sometimes one of her daughters and sometimes grandma. The food is delicious and served by another daughter who does not cook. This is elevated Thai food and trust me, you'll want to come back for more.

Food was amazing! My daughter is a picky eater, but she even liked all the dishes. Some dishes were slightly sweeter than for my liking, like pad thai, but still loved it.

Very upscale thai gem with great food in a stylish Thai restaurant setting with interesting art on the walls and linen napkins. Family run and very delicious with quality ingredients.

Every time I've been there the food has just been outstanding. Maybe the best duck dish in LA Asian. Fish and Crab noodles are outstanding. Nice family owned and run friendly place. We have to drive a long way to get there but it is worth it.

This seems to be family run....the food is just delicious. The service is a bit slow...but it's all in the family...so it works! The duck is truly great...as was the steamed Branzino. All around a very nice meal.

Wonderful unique tastes, always outstanding experience. A little pricey, probably because it's adjacent to Century City/ Beverly Hills, but afterwards you'll have no guilt or regrets.

definitely not the typical thai restaurant from the standpoint of the ingredients used. the menu is somewhat limited and while some dishes, such as hidden treasure, are noteworthy, others seem to lack flavor intensity.
portion size, in general, is adequate, but not generous, especially given the prices.

potential is there and we would like to see greater variety on the menu

This restaurant is ranked #1 in L.A. out of over 8,000 on a competing website and gets very high marks on another. I would say that everything was "good" but nothing was that good. From what we ordered, generally small portions. Food was tasty but nothing special. The short ribs that the waitress said was her favorite, was a small amount of meat, a few green vegetables and a lot of broth. Ambiance is good. Wine list is high for a place like this. Given its high ratings, I am puzzled why maybe only a dozens tables were full on the Saturday night that we went.

Simply put, Si Laa Thai deserves its outstanding reputation and accolades. Not just in "Thai" food category (but this as well!); but in context of dining generally in LA, this place is tops across the board. Quality of execution, pacing, ambience, exquisite attention to detail, and yes, of course most of all, the TASTE of everything we had was extraordinary.

The whole Branzino is beyond delectable and the texture of the delicate and crispy skin was impeccable. The Pad Thai was truly memorable and must say, the blue crab, adds a succulence and sweetness that transcends any other Pad Thai we've had ANYWHERE!!! The Pad See Ew is not only the tastiest we've tried, with just a right amount of smokiness and richness; but the texture of the beef short rib is like a pillow and so very tasty!

We had started with their rarefied "house" soup with shrimp and Larb Chicken: both were refined, subtly nuanced takes on these standbys and were perfect openings to an unforgettable evening.

Service was very friendly, easy going, yet detailed and sensitive. Reservation requirement Fridays-Sundays makes complete sense as the limited number of tables allows the atmosphere to remain discreet and refined, open and elegant, well paced and attentive without a flock a would-be diners waiting around at the entrance or creating a "scene": although, this is a place that deserves to most certainly have droves of people clamoring to get into to enjoy.

Best Thai restaurant in LA and, well, one of the handful best dining experiences we've had in LA ever! (Note: I was born in LA and lived there my first 20+ years and then am a frequent visitor since moving to Boston)

I had been to Si Laa when they first opened and had forgotten how yummy their food was. I will definitely make the drive out more often. The flavors were unbelievable and unforgettable.
We had the Duck which I salivate just thinking of it, Devil noodles, curry vegetables, Hidden treasure and Chicken Basil Larb...Oh my, I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend it. Thanks for the great food!!

Unlike in other cities, my girlfriend and I haven't found many places here that hit the right combination of cost, food, service, and ambiance. But I think Si Laa Thai is our new go-to whenever we feel like some Thai food. We found Si Laa Thai as the #1 rated restaurant in LA on TripAdvisor and were surprised to find ourselves the only guests when we arrive at 5:15 on a Saturday (with reservation, as required Fri-Sun). The potstickers arrived quickly after we ordered and were delicious. Snob alert: I left my used utensils on the plate and was very happy that the waiter replaced them with clean ones rather than handing them back to me. The Pad See You was terrific, too. The portions weren't very big, but those two items were enough to share since we had eaten a snack on the way over. Looking forward to my next visit!

The food and service were quite good, just like last time. They may have had a problem with the AC, because fans were out and it was a bit warm, so they need to fix that or up the AC. (Ironically, I am usually too cold in LA restaurants bc they blast the AC.)
But it is my "go to" Thai restaurant when in LA. So good, not your typical Thai restaurant in terms of service and food. Upscale.

We loved the food and the friendly, helpful staff, so we'll be back. However, we were put off by the dog at the table 2 tables down from us. Not on the floor, mind you, but AT the table between its' two owners.
The couple next to us, complete strangers, commented on it as well.

We arrived with high expectations based on reviews and a friend's recommendation. The service and the food were to be short ... superb!
The dishes are all prepared by Mom (a gifted thoughtful chef) and the service by the pretty friendly daughters who serve you as if you were a friend of the family.
The dishes (and we had five of them, were each a unique take on the Thai traditions with delicate spicing, generous portions and mouthwatering execution. There wis nothing we didn't love.
I hesitate to share this because I don't want to not be able to get a table, but I have to because it was such a great experience.
They are closed Tuesday and Wednesday but the rest of the week you will not go wrong in this gem of a restaurant that is easy to miss on the East side of Robertson just North of Olympic.

Petite owner Ben Yenbamroong runs a warm and delicious family Thai Restaurent.
She says she wants patrons to feel like guests in her home. And, indeed family members like her mom and Ben's daughters, help cook and serve. And the mood is that they genuinely want you to feel like you belong. Ben searches new original recipes each visit to the old country. So the food is deep in flavors and menu choices that are not the old familiar items of other Thai places. I first tasted this fresh and enrapturing approach when Ben ran Talesi on Sunset Boulevard. And followed her to Si Laa, taking my special guests and my own family, often. Because the experience is always personal and memorable.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and terrific service. For appetizers, the Hidden Treasures are outstanding. Their eggplant and cashew chicken can't be beat. The servers are so accommodating, it's obvious they really appreciate your business. Small restaurant, so be sure to make reservations. They are very busy every weekend and deservedly so. We love Thai food and have eaten at many of the Thai restaurants in the L.A. area, but now we only go to Si Laa for Thai. It's incomparable. Try it. You'll be glad you did.
