Si Bon Ratings and Reviews
This is our 7th time to Si Bon and it was as good as always. The food has a Belgian flavor and is excellent. Their muscles are huge and succulent and the mushroom soup was great. Try the lobster salad which is my wife's favorite. It has a large amount of fresh lobster cut up in it and is huge. My favorite is the beef stroganoff. We will be back soon even though it is a bit of a drive for us.
This is such an awesome place in our area that having a reservation is becoming a must. Great selections for breakfast and lunch. The amazing sauce on the crepe dishes is good enough to bathe in. The burger is on my "notable" list - although I am tempted to ask for that sauce on top next time.
I and my wife would actually give 4.5 stars overall, but, you don't allow that choice. The Belgian cuisine is quite good. The chef created an excellent, special vegetarian meal for my wife. She was very pleased. The staff was attentive, the noise level was low enough for both of us to talk easily (I am hard of hearing even with my hearing aids.) As with most restaurants, these days, the amount of food was excessive. We had another complete meal from the food we took home. That, really, is my only complaint. Oh yes, as I have a "bug about coffee," I was really pleased by the excellent coffee provided. It is about being a restaurant, not music, sports, etc. For excellent food, this is a wonderful place to eat. We will be back, many times.
It gets better and better. The kindest and most informed staff you can find in Palm Desert. Every dish was excellent-mussels and French fries, of course, but sweetbread, gravlox, sand dabs, duck pate all great too. We’ve come here since they opened and they do not rest on their laurels, but maintain consistent excellence.
First time at Si Bon. Outstanding food. I had the meatloaf and it was so good I did not want to eat it all so that I could have it the next evening, Most people there knew each tother. Host was a little off putting when I wanted to change my table The server was outstanding and not trying to upscale. I will return.
My wife and I ate at Si Bon twice on a recent visit to Palm Springs and both times were excellent. The mussels were large and tender and the Wiener Schnitzel was terrific. I enjoy Belgian beer and the Karmeliet Triple was perfect with the mussels. The service was terrific. Even on a busy night we reseated at a different table when we asked to move. The servers were very knowledgeable about the menu and were attentive without hovering. Finally the macadamia dessert was a terrific way to finish. This is one of our go to restaurants. Highly recommended!
My wife and I love Belgium and it's unique cuisine. Si Bon offers a truly authentic Belgian food experience minus the long flight. If you like Mussels Meuniere, you won't find a better version anywhere. Mussels are plump and very tasty, the broth is magnificent and the fries are outstanding. Service is outstanding as well. Just a great dining experience.
Never disappoints. Si Bon is a gem tucked into a corner by a grocery store - but once you've tried it and know it's there, you are bound to go back. Varied menu at lunch includes interesting sandwiches served on house made waffles (fried chicken is a favorite) and great frites. Nice wine by the glass. The dinner menu has a good range - salad or small plates, hanger steak and frites, fresh fish, interesting braises, mussels served three ways, and so on. House made gelato are superb. Very highly recommended.
Si Bon is fantastic. Every year they re-design and improve even more! Great menu, nice ambience, friendly service. Chef/Owner Phillipe is always happy to chat. He knows what he is doing! We enjoy brunch, lunch and dinner at Si Bon. This is a very popular restaurant for good reason!
