We found a new favorite Steak house. The food was wonderful. We started with the lobster bisque which was very flavorful. Then we had the ribeye steaks that were cooked just right. Tender and flavorful as well. We also added the king crab legs...which melted in your mouth. For desserts we had the Carrot cake and the trio creme brulee. The overall meal was wonderful and we deffenitly will go back.
we had "two servers" and service was terrible. On top of that, they charged us a mandatory 20% gratuity for a party of 7 which I have never heard of. That would have been fine if we would have had good service, but it was awful. We were always chasing down the waiters, never had drinks in front of us and had to constantly be looking for the servers and flagging them down. Clearly the guaranteed tip was at least one reason for the bad service. No thanks.
The hostess greeted us with a smile and welcomed us. We were promptly seated at a table for two. The hostess pulled out the table so we could get into our seats. Alejandro and Frank were our waiters. As always, they were amazing! The beer was cold and poured perfectly. The Grilled Tips appetizer is incredible and perfectly cooked. The Lobster Bisque was creamy and warm. The Burrata Salad was tasty and visually appealing with a large portion of burrata in the middle of ripe tomatoes. The bread was warm and the butter at room temperature so it was easy to spread. The filet was a perfect medium and served with a nice Bearnaise sauce. The chicken was spatchcocked and grilled evenly. The spinach was wilted and very tasty. The twice baked potato was huge, but filled with mashed potato, cheese, and sour cream. The check out process was easy and prompt. The women's bathroom was clean and well stocked. Shula's is a nice neighborhood gem tucked away inside of a casino. It is a great place for any occasion.
My wife and I went to Shula's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had been there a few times before and we knew what to expect - great food and great service in a nice atmosphere. My wife had the "small" roast beef and I had a steak. Both were excellent but far to much for our appetites. The next time we go there, we will definitely split the entree so we can enjoy the wonderful sides and maybe even have room for dessert.
Birthday it was pleasant but rushed
Great food and very attentive staff.
As always everything was wonderful, the lobster is the best.
The portions are large, plan to split everything! Even the side dishes. The meat was excellent quality but there was NO flavor at all.
Excellent filet mignon, very tender and cooked just right.
Great ambiance and the food was amazing. Will be coming back soon
Excellent meal and service. We had halibut and the NY strip. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious, as were the brussel sprouts. The chilled Manhattans were delightful.
The food is always delicious. The drink prices seemed quite pricy. 14.00 for a so so cocktail in a short glass. There was a table near us with about 8 men who were very very loud. So loud that they over powered our dining experience. Really loud like a bar scene or buffalo wild wings. I know there’s not much you can do about that except possibly place them in their own dining room.
I booked a reservation for 6 at 6:15pm on a Monday. The restaurant wasn’t full and tables were coming and going in a staggered fashion. We were seated in the back and forgotten. We had to flag the waiter down to order and for anything else we needed. Service has consistently gone down hill over the years. The very first time I came here was shortly after they opened and the service, ambiance, food quality was exceptional- not anymore- not even close.
As far as the food- the “family size” appetizers and sides have become very skimpy. The food was overly salted and my brother in law who ordered the cowboy steak medium rare- received not one but 2 steaks not cooked as he ordered. The first came out well done as there was no pink in the center to speak of. The 2nd steak came out just about raw. (One extreme to the other).
Once we received the 2nd steak for my brother in law- nobody came back to check on us. The food runner dropped and ran. This was a Monday night mind you and each table is “served” by 2 people - so this was just pathetic service. I had to go up to the hostess station to ask for the manager and it took another 15 minutes before the manager was at our table. (I found out as we were leaving later after free dessert that he must leave frequently for smoke breaks. We passed him coming back in as we went to our cars).
For 6 people our meal was $450 and it took 2.5 hours to get through the meal since we waited so long on our meals. Not worth it in the least for what you get. We gladly paid $750 at Fleming’s in Peoria for our family for father’s day dinner and had amazing food and service. Don’t waste your time or money at Shula’s!
Fantastic restaurant! Staff and facilities were perfect. Food, way too much but outstanding. Probably the best steak house in Phoenix area, which means I need to do more research. But if I need to take guests to a know commodity, this would be my first choice! Thank you Shula's team!
First time we were here - will be back! Had the filet - perfect!
Very good place to eat and enjoy our anniversary.
You should never sit a celebrating couple next to a couple with loud young Kidd’s. We thought about leaving. It was my birthday.
In one word, "Great". The help was exceptional and the food was super. Great place
for any occasion.
Just like every other old school steakhouse, only the prices were even more outrageous and service was just okay. Nothing unique on the menu, just grilled steaks and cheese laden potatoes priced very high. Phoenix has too many other very good steakhouses to settle for just ordinary and to overpay.
We had such an amazing dining experience. The service was outstanding, so kind and so attentive. The bread... OMG. Warm, soft, and delicious. Everything we ordered was very good. We will be back.
Lunch is very disappointing. Nothing came out as ordered,so we had to wait longer for our meal while they corrected it
We keep coming back for a reason, always enjoy our time there.
We had unbelievable service and food
We were disappointed this trip to Shula's.
My first time there was for my Birthday and my wife had arranged the reservation.
They had a happy birthday wish "plaque" custom created for me.. dinner was amazing, everything top notch.
We went last night for my Wife's birthday.. I made the reservation and had noted in opentable that it was her birthday, special event.
We arrived and nobody appeared to know this detail and there was no plaque for my wife.
I mentioned the birthday to the wait staff and she acted like oh yeah.. ok..
I ordered the large filet and a king crab leg to round it out (surf & turf).
The crab was disgusting. Water logged, super salty.. super fishy smelling. I sent it back.
I've eaten King crab all my life and actually had it on our last visit to Shula's.. it was good that time.
The biggest disappointment was the manager came over to check on my complaint and told me he talked to the chef and that this is how king crab tastes.. ????? I told him it may taste that way if you boil it in salt water and let it sit for hours.. I suggested they steam me a new leg and I'm sure it will be fine. He said they can't fix it any other way than what I got and that's it.. so I had them take it off the bill.
The steak was good.. it wasn't "to die for" like last time. Temperature was nearly right.. a tad rare.. but it was dry and not seasoned and seared sufficiently.
This trip turned us off to Shula's.. we probably won't be back for quite a while.
Easter noon-time offered three menus - Sunday brunch, special Easter menu, regular dinner menu. Seems like a huge undertaking for the chef. Love the steaks at Shulas, unfortunately neither of us ordered a steak. Green beans were tough, lamb chops not as good as expected, food was good, just not up to our expectations. Server was friendly and eager to please. Biggest downer for us was the smell of smoke that permeates from the casino.
Awesome food as always
Prices were way too high for mediocre food. Steak was tender, but no flavor. Asparagus was so-so. Baked potato, was baked, ok. The best part of the meal was the salad and the chocolate cake they gave us for our birthdays. Servers wemt out of their way and very pleasant.
We were going to go to Ruth Chris Steak House (as usual)and thought we would try something different,it was our anniversary but we were disappointed with the service and food at Don Shula’s no comparison to Ruth Chris! Sorry Don!
Everyone working there was very friendly. The restaurant was quiet food was very good. Would go back.
Celebrated birthday. Fabulous experience from the moment we walked in until we walked out. Service and food were what we’ve learned to expect from Shula’s. Great, great, great!!!
We alwsys have very attentive waiting staff. The food has never disappointed.
As always food and service was excellent. Pricey but great food, always fresh.
Always loved the shula location in Orlando so figured give this one a try. Lets just say comparing the Orlando location to this one is like night and day. Its "ok", but not better than that
Loved the trio but crab cakes salty, medallions of beef perfect, scallops done to perfection. Had to ask for lemons for water 3x could be because we were 2 women even though we had 2 servers. Did return often to check, even though we kept asking for our lemons.
Great service with incredible food! Thanks Don
Four friends walked in for dinner with out reservations. We were told 1.5 hour wait even though there were 15 plus open tables. Two Hostesses and the Manager would not give up empty tables because supposed reservations allowed diners two hour window for them to show up. I went online and was confirmed a reservation. Manager was told about the online reservation made and he seated us immediately. Minimum of ten table remained open without diners during our dinner experience.
We were very disappointed that online was able to seat us while active Manager onsite was unable and unwilling or limited to fill an open table. This created an uncomfortable experience for our four diners.
Our first time to visit Shula's Steak House and we were extremely pleased with the friendly, courteous service from all staff. From the time we walked in, we felt like valued customers. The staff was efficient, not obtrusive and helpful in every way. The food was more than outstanding - every thing from the presentation to the taste was excellent. We will definitely return for another dinner.
Shula’s. What can I say? My husband and I love this restaurant. The steak is the best we have ever had bar none! We celebrate our birthdays and anniversary here every year.
On this occasion it was a little loud. There was a birthday party which should have had its own room but all in all we had a wonderful time.
If you have never been to Shula’s I recommend that you try it at least once.
Shula’s is a beautiful, well managed restaurant. It is always immaculate and they offer some very nice perks, such as their birthday club. The food Is good, but in all honesty, not great. They just slightly miss the mark. Lobster Bisque, quite tasty, served barely warm and had to be sent back. Husband’s ribeye chop, good, but not as good as the other high end steak houses. Service was good, manager was very personable and attentive.
Great place and food plus service. Love the atmosphere.
