Shula's Steak House - Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino Ratings and Reviews
We had the Ahi Tuna as an appetizer and both of us thought the meat was flavorless--only the sauce gave a taste. We've often had Ahi Tuna at other places, so this was a let-down. The French Onion Soup was great. The Lamb Chops tasted good, but did Not taste like Lamb--more like beef. Most of the food was low on salt. We added salt, but having it only on the surface isn't quite the same.
The biggest memory is the huge disappointment that we forgot to present our coupon for one free meal. The waiter knew we'd been there before and he clearly knew we were there for a birthday because we got a surprise cake with candle. It would've been a nice touch if he'd asked if we had the birthday coupon. ON TOP OF THAT, we'd forgotten the paper copy of the coupon. When we got there, the first thing we asked was if you could take if via our Smart Phone. We were told No, so we went to the hotel and got the concierge to print it for us from the phone. (His tip added to the night's cost.) THEN we forgot to present it. Why couldn't YOU use the phone version? I accept it was my fault for forgetting, but NOT a good memory.
We made a reservation for the new Brunch time frame on Sunday. Instead of going into the dining room we decided to sit at the bar. We like it better at the bar. We were attended to promptly. We were given the Brunch and Lunch menu. Both had great items on them. We decided to go with a bottle of wine and a bowl of the Lobster Bisque. The Lobster Bisque was excellent. My better half ordered the medallions and I ordered the Crab Benedict. It was out of this world. The beef medallions for incredible also. It was one of the best Sundays we have had in a long time.
So incredibly disappointed. We spent an evening in a loud room of strangers eating mediocre food. The filet was tasteless. The Brussel sprouts were hard and flavorless. The macaroni and cheese dry. Our servers were present but void of any genuine care. It was almost as if the noise was taking a toll on them as well. They seemed to settle on a plan to just get the food out, scrape the crumbs and hurry back to the retreat of the kitchen.
This was my husband's birthday and were ready to treat ourselves to a night of incredible cuisine and sophisticated dining. We did not even get close to that. Instead we found a mediocre to poor experience. We overspent on this night.
Our first experience there about 3 months ago was horrible. They had booked a large (40 or so) group who were extremely loud and rude and intoxicated. I let the staff know about this as well as a letter to the manager who replied with a very sincere apology and a gift card hoping we would return. Had he not, we wouldn't have. This time was absolutely perfect. A great, quiet booth, wait staff of Marco and Frank were outstanding and the food was superb. The Blackened Sirloin tips as well as the Crab Mac and Cheese were terrific, enough to share.
We all had steak which was amazing and done to perfection. It was pricey, around $300 (for 3 of us) with tip but we had wine and a couple cocktails.
This is my fourth trip to Shula's. Great food worth the price. This time, however, my prime rib was pure fat. I ordered the largest portion, but no exaggeration, half of the portion was uncooked fat. I know that prime rib has some fat, but this was unacceptable. I showed our waiter all the fat I cut of the steak, and asked our waiter if this was normal. He advised it was.
I do not ever complain or complete survey's, but I felt I had to give my honest opinion.
Overall, the food is delicious; the atmosphere is upscale but comfortable; and service is top notch. I would recommend this restaurant.
Steaks were cooked to perfection. When the steaks were served, we were asked to cut into the middle of the steak to be sure they were cooked as we ordered them. They were. A very nice touch. We had the sautéed mushrooms and potato gratin as shared sides. Both were delicious.
Our waitress was less than attentive, and it took over 30 minutes for us to even order food. After ordering our meal the air conditioning and water went throughout the entire establishment so we were unable to even use the restroom in the establishment. This made us wonder is the restraint staff and kitchen staff were maintaining sanitary conditions while handling our food. We did not even recieve an apology as we ate our meal while we sat sweating at our table...
For a place known for their steaks, ours were very flavorless. The scallops and crab cake were amazing, but that was the only highlight to our meal. Service was super slow. Took over 10 minutes just to get out drinks and they were nothing fancy, a beer and a coke. It was a sad disappointment overall for all the hype.
Hands down, Shula's Steakhouse is one of the best steakhouses I've ever been to in my life and around the country. I've been probably about 15 times to the Chandler location and I've never been disappointed. The service is always outstanding, the food is always prepared with the upmost care for perfection, and what most people like is the pricing isn't outrageous like some other want to be places. I still to this day get a kick out of the steak display and the steak menu painted on footballs signed by Don Shula. I love bringing guests with me who have never been.
I had heard about Shula's before. So, when the opportunity to eat at Shula's and experience for myself what all the great reviews were about, we just could not pass up the chance. It exceeded any expectations I may have had for food and everything else Shula's offers. The service, second to none. The setting, comfortable and elegant at the same time. The food, how do you rate something higher than the best rating available. Shula's has done that. Then getting to see the Lombardi trophy, that made our dining experience something we will talk about and brag to everyone about for years. Thank you for making us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant and serving us the best food We have ever had. When we go back to the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino again Shula's is at the top of our list of things to do as soon as we get there. Thank you again and do yourself a favor, eat at Shula's every chance you get. You won't be sorry you did!!!
It's a steak house, and they did it very well, though pricey. Service was very good, but it was clear they like to turn tables over. It's not a two hour dinner place despite the price. I'm new to the area and booked this because of the restaurant's reputation. I wasn't pleased to find it was in a casino, where I had to walk through a smokey, loud room full of people in flip flops to get to the escalator to the restaurant. Parking was easy and free and this was a Sat night, though valet avaulable. I wouldn't go again because of the cheesy casino setting.
